Enjoyed that, some good racing. Thanks for posting the links, it was nice and easy to follow the heats with the Update link. No idea why no one was excluded from the re-run of Heat 16 though. Looked like some sort of protest was going on with the long delay before the restart. One thing I like in particular about the ice is that the riders just rock up to the gate and the race is under way in most cases with over a minute left on the countdown clock. Presume, like with concrete grids of old, that there is no advantage to be gained by the irritating gardening which has taken over speedway in the past 10 to 15 years.

No, the Pride of the East was at the end of October. Both had ridden in the International Tournament in England that summer.

Zenon finished third in 1973 with 12 points. Edward Jancarz (7pts) was the other Pole. Anders Michanek and Ole Olsen both scored 13 and Michanek won the run-off.

Correct. That picture was taken in Heat 6 at Oxford on July 1st, 1973, in that summer's fabulous International Tournament. The other rider is John Titman. Zenon had finished behind Jim Airey in his first ride in Heat 4.

Hard to take in that four of the top five in the historic 1979 World Final, on that hot Sunday afternoon in Katowice, have now gone.

No statement yet from the British Speedway press office regarding this apparent snub for the sport when even greyhounds (and all the animal welfare issues associated with them) get a handout. Did speedway even make a submission for funding? No one seems to be saying.

A very good point. This was a major missed opportunity at the NSS, where bends 3/4 would indeed have been ideal. Instead, the pits are hidden away.

Hopefully the online shop will reopen in time for fans to place and receive Christmas orders.... https://bellevue-speedway.com/news/2020/11/6/office-closed-during-november

In a Polish League match between Torun and Lodz in the summer, the Holders beat Rohan Tungate in a no-holds-barred Heat 13 but all were happy to shake hands at the end. It was the same type of action in Heat 15, but this time little Rohan outsmarted them. Cue the Holders spitting out their dummies and not being interested in congratulating Rohan.

Wow, this thread has gone spectacularly off-track when you look back to page one.

Let's hope they take this into account and stage it in summer next year, not October as previously stated.

What's the weather like up north for what would have been the first day of the SoN at the NSS?

British Youth Championship

I was going to this until it went behind closed doors. Does anyone know if a programme was printed for the Belle Vue event? -
Am I missing something here? Poland, where Lidsey and Bewley will be coming from after the SoN, is on the UK quarantine list. Will they not have to self-isolate at home for 14 days as soon as they return here, thus ruling them out of the Peter Craven? Same applies to Lemon of course as Aussie team manager.
