Eurosport, terrible professionalism.
Wardey replied to Odds On's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I hope so. I dont believe Eurosport do anything to raise the profile to a newer audience. Towards the end of the GPs, Kelvin was forever banging on about Zmarzlik and it was getting boring. I'd say he was definitely been told to big up Zmarzlik as he has commentated for years & we all know he is capable ( and has the knowledge) of talking about other things & all things Speedway. Camera work is a joke. So many times the camera has panned into a rider miles ahead about to cross the line, when behind is2/3 riders battling out for an exciting finish. You lose the moment of knowing who won the battle & its frustrating. Who wants to see a guy trundle over the line himself when 3 guys are throwing bikes at each other! BSN, Canal, Eleven Sports are far far superior -
Riders who left us too soon.🙁

Kenni Larsen -
The most dangerous riders

Pretty sure it was Ben Wilson who had a spat with Kenni Larsen after a race, revved his bike, hopped off it and fired his bike into Kenni. -
Edinburgh v Glasgow Friday 6 September 2024

Yeah, he was way off the pace. I can only think he is deliberately getting his average down so he will be a bargain next season -
Redcar v Berwick - 10/5/2024, Cab Direct Championship
Wardey replied to pvm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
First trip to Redcar, a fabulous set up from a club that means business. Be grateful for that. (Particularly aimed at Redcar fans moaning about situation). Berwick were ( and imo are) the better team. Borke is a steal, and when you have 2nd string of Kemp & Hume, it bodes well for Bandits. Barker in H13 was key, would King have done that?...... Probably not because he is accustomed to riding with Wright around that track...the joys of Guests though. Been a tough start for Redcar with injuries, lets not forget that. Trigger done well & looks like he is improving which is good to see. -
Well done to Glasgow on engaging with fans during the off season & keeping interest alive. A load of clubs out there could do with following their lead.
-
Might do if he starts agro with other riders again
-
Totally agree!!

Fear not for the negative Brummies fans, plenty room for a mid season Robert Lambert signing. And for those having hissyfits........ Im sure it will be such a shame for you to be seeing top tier racing this season. Be grateful your team is still running.

Any ideas who your last rider is going to be?

Wow. This is why I dont come on here often. Anyone with a sensible response to the actual question here? ( Thank you HGould for the only reasonable answer here) I'll be in Tenerife the 3rd week of November, so will look out my Save Our Speedway banner and pack it with my Speedo's and Ivan Mauger book. As for this quote....what part of the Canaries have you been wining and dining in to conclude that it aint cheap? Defo not the parts I frequent.

Bring Speedway back on Terrestrial TV would help - never gonna happen though. NORA IOW speedway will be the future. Speedway in its purest form is predominantly boring to the non converted. Anyone watch the BSN coverage when the GB lads were in the US? How refreshing was it to have the unique races throughout the main event. BSPL ( or whoever is in charge these days) need to cough up the dough and step in. Ownership of own stadium is critical, as is that club getting revenue from food & drink sold at stadium. (Nothing wrong with giving away free tickets if the people were never coming in the first place) Riders personalities/characters and fan engagement are key drivers to the success of the sport (no pun intended) Up to date and relevant Marketing

Glasgow v Edinburgh , Easter Sunday

Maybe they'd just admit it in their autobiography years later. Anyone who has read Triple Crown Plus will know what I mean. -

Basso is a good enough and talented enough. Doesnt need to ride like that. Good for the punter to see how future meetings between the 2 riders go. Also adds to the GB v Denmark shenanigans following Woffinden-Madsen & Kerr - Palm Toft clashes lol -
Not heard about any other countries following suit, but will defo be interesting to see how it works in reality. As for the 'micro movement' ruling.....this is a very good move. There were a few Extraleague meetings last year that had farcical stoppages based on this, and you could see no advantage was gained when watching the replays.

2023 Season Riders Without Clubs.
Wardey replied to rearingtogo's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Connor has a spot with Workington. Unless that has changed(?) Guessing Clegg's NL average has scuppered him of an NL team at least. -
Sorry. Who is the 6th rider? Website states 5 riders PLYMOUTH Richie WorrallDan Gilkes Kyle HowarthBen BarkerBen Trigger

Agree 100%

4 good riders so far. Well chuffed for George as well. Yes he had a tough start to UK speedway but he was showing signs of improvements before we went under. Hopefully he has good machinery with him this year, because if he does, Im confident he will be a steal on 4.5 avge

Sorry. For clarity. I am meaning a bog standard monthly calendar with the days, that you can hang on your kitchen wall. I find it the best way to communicate with the wife. Writing things like 'Pub with lads' and 'Armadale 7.30 tape ups'

Does a 2023 GB Speedway calendar exist? If so, does anyone have a link to purchase one.

SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings
Wardey replied to Nickinho's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Possibly to do with his Newcastle points being scrapped? Complin is still a 4 which is what he came in on at start of season. -
Thanks. Hope that doesnt stop him from getting a NDL place this season
-
Does Max's 11.73 NDL average from last season carry over into this one? (Im genuinely not sure how the points system works) He only a couple of few meetings, is that right?
