So that will mean Chris Harris coming in. Oh.... Sorry I mean a guest..... -
I'm sorry to see James Pearson being left out, but if the numbers don't add up then it's simply 2.00 replaces 4.00. It must be remembered that he has only just turned 18 so he is still developing. let's hope he get's another place soon.

SGP and SGP 2 qualifying round nominations

I was at a press conference where Ivan Mauger was talking about how he disliked the GP selection & that no matter how hard you tried if the selection panel didn't like you you were never going to get in. He went on to say the old way was the best when he could wake up on New Years Day with a licence A motor bike & a dream to be the World Champion & before the year was over that could happen but today you know on that first day you can't be the champion. -

My feelings are somewhat different regards the current SGP 15. I believe they should be required to make an entry into the qualification series if they think there is a chance they may not make the top 6 for an automatic seeded spot for the next year. If they finish outside the top 6 for any reason & have not entered the qualifiers then they cannot be considered for a wild card spot for the following season. This would stop those that maybe believe they are entitled to a place coming in each year & stopping the chance of a young rider that has invested vast amounts to navigate a path to the world championship, My idea is in essence the same as your line 3 but my idea means the current SGP riders have to make a commitment. I understand that injuries may cause a rider to fall out of the top 6 but that's all part of the game that you cannot predict. -

Laguta may well improve, but even then he will only get 3 points each time he wins. When the TEAM looses by a near 30 point margin at HOME there are bigger problems to solve. -
Giving away Ht 2 every meeting is going to be a massive hurdle, Fellows is not on the pace & his gating is not at this level yet & whilst Killeen is out there is no minimum average rider unattached that can score anymore than Fellows. I think Oxfords Gods were shining on them last night. How often are we going to see Jack Smith fail to score double figures?

I have seen Tom Brennan rise swiftly to the stage he was at last season. his start to this season has been slower I would go so far as to say he is not at the level he finished at last term. Like many others he has reached a position where he has come to rest, the question is can he get past this to improve further & make it to the next stage. I have seen so many enjoy their racing until it becomes to hard for them, the pressure of needing to score well is to much. Gone is the time of hearing that kid is going to be the best to hearing he's not going to make it & some fall by the wayside others continue to be long time NDL riders just to enjoy their speedway -

I would not disagree that they are deserving of a place in the finals but there are other Nations that have no riders in the top 12 & with only 3 slots to fill I'm sure the powers would prefer to see more flags flying than more riders under the same flag. -

With 3 Poles, 3 Swedes, & 3 Danes already qualified I can't see another being selected as a wildcard. A Czech would be picked as they always support these events so Klima as the best in the rounds. Then a British rider & as the same reason as above it would be Rowe. The third choice is a lottery Maybe a second Brit or Czech with Gilkes & Chulpac in the running -

When the Referee turns up with two young children & has to walk around with an FIM coat on he is more concerned about keeping himself & his kids safe. He made a decision based on fear. If this had happened outside of Poland then I believe the outcome would have been different -

Killeen the trump card at reserve, but his gating needs to be better moving forward -
Preben Eriksen was always a hard rider, never really the star in the Danish set up but played his part as an enforcer & gave more favored opponents a rough ride. Jan Steachmann always had imaculate kit always reliable on & off the track I remember him from Long Eaton & Stoke mainly. But since his retirement from racing his input into the young Danish riders as Manager has been remarkable.

Who is still riding who rode in 2004?
Technik replied to steve roberts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'm not sure that "Boogaloo" is still racing. I think his only riding these day's is for demonstration only. The years are catching up with Bobby, He's a good way into his 6th decade. -
New track at Veenoord, Netherlands
Technik replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
I have to wonder why they would build a second track at the same venue. I was there some years ago & it was a great track for the 500cc sidecars at the time. -
Oxford Vs Redcar (league) 3rd May
Technik replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Speedway is a funny sport. Each rider will sign a contract for a season, that much I understand. Now when the season ends & the new one is starting each team needs 7 riders. If a rider from season 1 is not one of the new seasons 7 he is left without a valid contract so is in fact a free agent & can choose a new team. Jordan Jenkins confuses me even more as he rode for Redcar & Oxford last season so is he an asset of both clubs? -

Jordan Jenkins is in a great run of form at present, he's making that run around the outside on turn 4 his trademark. The most entertaining rider on track again last night. -
Oxford Vs Edinburgh KOC 1st leg 26th April

I'd have to agree that the booking fee is something that has annoyed myself as well. Whilst trying to book for Newbury races for 6 people I had a £30 booking fee thats 6 X £5 for a single transaction. We never went, I'll pay the £5 but not £5 for each ticket when all booked together. I think we believe the same facts that why should we pay the fee when it is us that have done all the work -
I'd say that if he has an exisiting average obtained from the previous (2022) season then that would count (without the deduction), should his Championship average be from seasons before then either the conversion from the other league or an assessed average would be applied

I've had some sort of mobile device since 1986 when I was in my 20's that was near 40 years back. I'm that much older as well & there are many things I don't like about the modern phones however I like many 60+ year old's are very capable of using most hand held devices & I think a lot of those that say they can't are just looking for an excuse not to attend the live event. On Wednesday night the racing was some of the best I have seen since the reopening & I got to watch the football in the bar as well. A perfect night out (unless your an Arsenal fan from Edinburgh) -
The Danish team were a class above all else on the day. Ukraine were never competitive which left GB & CZ to fight the small over points. Denmark gave their young reserve a chance in the final races just for his experience & development. After the 2022 Golden Helmet I think Vaclav Milek is a little tired of following Dan Bewley in the last race
