  1. In my opinion; The home team receive a severe rollocking for failing to control their own fans. The fan will be banned by the club from home matches & by the PZM from all Polish speedway. Woffinden will also receive a rollocking & a suspended ban. Teams will only be allowed to make a parade win/loose or draw from the racing surface. There will be some settlement over the whole incident so it will not get to a hearing. Just my opinion
  2. If thats all we have to do then it's easy, The teams that are winning have the best managers because by doing nothing they can make no mistakes.
  3. This I assume happened at a domestic meeting in Poland. This will be for in the first instance for the clubs involved to deal with then possibly the PZM. as it is not an FIM event then I don't believe they will be required as the national rules should be used. If the supporter is in an area he shouldn't be then possibly the club he supports may be in a tight spot. But whatever happens I can't see it affecting Tai representing team GB at the upcoming events in Poland
  4. The position of todays team manager is more for an enthusiast. There is very little that can be done to change the outcome of a meeting. as a kid I would stand with a group of pals & we would manage both sides making decisions as to what to do when in a position to use T/S or who to put in as R/R & when to use a reserve. of course if the manager differs to us then the debate continues. Todays speedway will not allow that & now all we talk about is how long the meeting is delayed or the dust & why is it so expensive. But I think the best team manager was Allan Ham at Bradford, He had the ability to motivate an average reserve into beliving he could beat a world champion & humble enough to be able to work alongside World Champions. Each time I went to Odsal it was set up like a championship arena, It was a very intimadating on arrival but always an excellent show
  5. Whilst I agree that professional sportspeople need to be aware about what they are taking it is near impossible to know what goes into over the counter drugs & with different brands having slightly different make ups. In the past I have asked a pharmasist for drugs that conform with the IOF list & the reply I got was "I think these are OK"... Not exactly inspiring confidence when you get that answer from someone who should be regarded as an expert. All that said when selected for a drug test the selected competitor will be asked to declare any & all medication they have used recently & that will include even the most innocent sounding such as birth control, paracetomol or even a covid jab
  6. I have to agree. If this system is to be used for individual championship events where a new tyre can be used for semi-finals & finals then they should be ready mounted by the SCB/BSPL for the qualified riders to put on their bikes. either that or allow each rider two tyres at the start to use as they see fit. The waiting time at any speedway event is whats killing British speedway
  7. As I understand it a rider that is not contracted can only guest for the same club twice so I think it makes sense to sign Garrard as a fixture & if Killeen is fit for the end of season play offs then the reverse switch can be made.
  8. It's of no concern as to what has been or will be found in the sample taken. The rider refused to take a second test so is guilty by failing to comply with any/all of the process the result is he will be deemed to have provided a positive sample & should receive the maximum penalty (2 year ban) the same as Steve Boxall in the past
  9. I think it will be a little while before I see a better race than last nights Ht 13, no quarter given or asked for.
  10. I have a large badge collection, I'll have a look & see if I have a pair of this badge. It's amazing how much people think these badges are worth when they were made in the thousands. The modern style will be more valuable in a few years as this are made in batches of much fewer numbers.
  11. It's worth remembering that Mr Boxall was never proved to be a drug user he simply failed to take a test & the only outcome is that is presumed to be a positive test & the maximum ban was applied. I believe before he is allowed to hold a racing licence he should be required to take a test at his own expense with SCB/BSPL/ACU witnesses present, Should the test prove negative then he can return to racing
  12. I think this will be closer than expected, yesterdays heavy rain may make the track a little grippy. I think an Oxford win but only by 8 points.
  13. If you can find an open faced helmet with the correct approval standards then yes you can use one. They are still used in trials events, but these helmets are designed for such events & not permitted in racing disciplines. The ACU Gold sticker is no longer a recognised approval in SCB/FIM speedway events
  14. The reason or reasons why he failed to take a random drug test may never be known to anyone except him. He was issued a two year ban from racing which is now time served so the same as any other he is free to return to racing. However The BSPL/SCB/ACU could insist he takes a drug test before they allow him a licence in respect of his missing test.
  15. I heard the story a little differently, He was led to believe that some of the meetings he guested at the end of last season in would not count towards his average which is why I suggest he made a mistake.
  16. I don't think he will venture into the Championship this season. He made a mistake last year & ended up on an average & had to start the season in the main team, Agreed it went well for him but he could have had a lot more rides from reserve. If he doe's the same this year & ends up saddled with a +5.00 average & unable to start at reserve, I for one will be shocked.
  17. That's what I said "He failed to TAKE a drug test" not that he had failed a drug test
  18. I know he failed to take a drug test & was banned for 2 years by the SCB. That time has now been served, I would say that the SCB have been satisfied. He may have done well on the Island & there is no doubt he raced with some good NDL stars. But that is for fun, How long would he remain at a club given his record of injuries & mechanical knowledge. At NDL he would still hold a huge average & I don't see a reason for any reduction as he is coming back from suspension. To race at CL will require him to be fully committed & I feel he needs to prove that before any club take a dip in that pool
  19. In the pre-meeting presentation it maybe quicker to introduce the crowd changes to the riders
  20. Your either an MP or a fairground attendent ........That's a lot of spin.
  21. These meetings have been in the calander for a good while so I can see no reason why the Ladies have not taken advantage. As it is an open event the inclusion of a German lady or any other nation is acceptable & I would believe she may well have been invited but I don't think it would be paid for by the BSPL/SCB
  22. If Killeen is fit at play-off time just think how strong Oxford could be with him at Reserve
  23. It was very much the same at Somerset with Anders Rowe as the other reserve. Atkins is doing well enough at Oxford with a much weaker reserve partner but you would have to wonder what might happen if his average put him into the top 5 & Heeps or Jenkins drop to reserve & he only got the minimum 3 rides. I guess watch this space....
  24. The Machine Examiner must ensure that all machines & riders equipment meet the minimum requirements as per the regulations at all times.
