  1. It's not even close. Bristol, Milton Keynes, Reading & Torquay United are all awaiting a new stadium from Mr Osbourne as promised. At least the new Swindon stadium is built & safe in storage at a Unicorn farm in Wales
  2. I know over the years the R/R facility has been deployed at #2 for the most times. I have never been a fan of this as it is my belief that it cuts down the teams tactical options where a TS can only be used once but it can mean a rider can be used as the R/R & also as a TS if required for the facility. Kennett is the only one who can't take an R/R but if needed he could take a TS in place of Kerr (R/R). So using the facility at #3 or #4 offers better options later in the meeting than #2 who is packing up at the interval.
  3. I'd use R/R at 4. You have more options later in the meeting than 2 who is finished at Ht 10 at home & if the name an 8 I think Nathan Ablitt will get a shot
  4. You leave Len alone, he's had that shale since 1976..... all 3 pieces
  5. Such a shame that a surprise greyhound meeting should cause the track preperation to be delayed. They only had 5 hours & the last 15 months to work on the track. The 12 race greyhound meeting programmed 6 dogs in each race that all turned up ready to race, each race has a designated start time. It's all televised into all the bookmakers across the country & details are in the national press. First race 10:15 last race 12:59. Where's the surprise? Then Speedway wants to be refered to as an Elite Sport........... Maybe somewhere after dog racing
  6. As far as I know there is no rule about first bend bunching If two team members clash & one falls why should it be all 4 back & punish the team that got round the bend safely?
  7. Whilst I will agree the inside gate did provide more than it's share of race win's there were also a good number of positive results from gate 4 from both teams. I think heat 1 needs to be taken out of the equation as there were only 2 starters. but for the rest of the meeting 1 & 4 were the better gates I would honestly say 2 & 3 were the worst for the night.
  8. They have yet to pick up on that simple fact that prior to heat 1 nobody knows which will be the best gates.
  9. Tyres must be on the Homologation list & will be ordered prior to the event by the rider/team & fitted on race day at the allocated time, For practice any tyres can be used. As long as an engine meets the requirements within the current regulations there is no reason why a proto-type could not be used. Silencers as with tyres must be homologated, & the frame again if it conforms it can be used. Each rider can present 3 machines for race day but can only have two in their pit bay at any time, a third (spare) machine would need to be kept in the Parc Ferme area under the supervision of the Machine Examiner & can only be removed if replaced by another machine.
  10. The same happened in the Spice Girls , The proto-type Mel A was succeeded by Mel B & Mel C
  11. Like everything else the ERW track surface has a lifespan & each time its prepared & raced on compacts the surface just a little more until it cannot compact anymore. That is where it is now, The moisture will not stay in the surface because it just can't penetrate the crust that has become so hard & thick. The only way to revive it is to cut it up & relay it with fresh clay content, it takes time & effort to bring it back & for a while the racing will suffer & there will be complaints from all sides but the end result is worth it
  12. I don't think Leon Flint is allowed as he is a 3* rising star & Atkins is a 2* rising star. I understand that you can only use the same or below on the * rating
  13. Correct. I'm sorry, I confused myself, With riding for two clubs I didn't factor in the difference in average & the team position. So I guess the only option is to use another rising star at or below the same grade as Atkins. I wonder if both the Thompson twins are allowed to guest as rising stars? as they were both on the list, but Leicester had to declare which one they would use as their rising star. I think its a question worth asking
  14. Jason Doyle had a problem with his shoulder popping out for no reason. I saw him have a nasty crash at Rye House after it dislocated itself. I know he had an op to put it right & missed 6/8 months racing. but on the up side he went on to become a World Champion so there's hope for Henry yet. So far as facilities I would think R/R would be available. I know he has yet to race for Plymouth this season & that because of the weather. but with riders racing in more than one league this season the simple fact that the injury occured whilst racing in a British League should entitle all team's he is declared for a facility.
  15. Nearly every team has Henry Atkins in. He suffered a shoulder injury in his first meeting. Lets hope it won't impact the rest of his season.
  16. That don't leave a whole lot of time to fit in 3 more rounds & the final
  17. The Plymouth fixture has now vanished from 02/06 so it is now Berwick 09/06 that will open the Poole fixtures....Currently!!!!
  18. How is the track holding up with all the rain we are getting?
  19. I believe you are correct in your statement. However at the express decision of the BSPL a facility can be used for a 28 day period. When that period starts or finishes can be adjusted depending how far up the food chain you are. I understand Coty Garcia is stuck in Argentina as they are in lockdown so Berwick will also have a facility
  20. The fixture shown on the BSPL website has moved from 26/05 to 02/06. That's confirmed in my view
  21. The first match will be a week late June 2. It's not so bad maybe the Stadium owners can get one more insurance payment if there is no racing in May
  22. J. EDWARDS 7.53 D. GILKES 8.00 H. ATKINS 5.86 G. BLAIR 4.50 H. McGURK 3.00 G. ROTHERY 3.00 N. ABLITT 3.00 34.89
  23. Jason Bunyan - Multi New Zealand Champion, Rode as WC in the NZ SGP - Holds a British Passport Ricky Wells - Born in NZ represents USA in FIM events. Scott Campos - Former NDL rider was reserve for USA in SWC Ryan Terry-Daly - Races in NZ championship each year then in NL in UK. Rory Schelin - Rode for Australia in SWC & is currently British Champion All the above have represented more than one nation in FIM WC qualifying events. Which boat was your ilinformed friend on?
