  1. I must admit that after reading yesterday's story in the Telegraph "Coventry Stadium to be transformed into housing estate" I was thoroughly depressed, as it seemed to be slanted towards certain success for Brandon Estates with only minor reference to the save it campaign. Although I never have the chance to get down there these days, it was so much part of my growing years and youth right up until work took me away from the area in my early twenties. One of my best mates at the time lived next door to the stadium so that even in the off season I was around the stadium constantly. It was part of my life and education, it's apparently in my DNA. I could still take you to the exact spot, where we used to boo and cheer on the back straight in my school days, and to every inch of the stadium, and offices and pits. So it's a mega thank you from me to SCS &S campaigners for their incredible work to keep the place and hopes alive. Fabulous to see such a turnout at the council offices yesterday, and thanks to Rugby councillors for their diligent appraisal of the application. I'm very proud of the campaign to fight for Brandon !!!
  2. Have you missed an N out of the spelling of Wa kanda Chunky?
  3. deleted a caps lock post because I thought JH was the originator. Apologies Norbold.
  4. If you do a search John you'll find its been a regular topic on here over the last twenty years. Used to enjoy watching their tarmac speedway.

I think John has regressed to his MI6 days in the cold war, and was placing one of those odd little ads you used to get in the Times or Evening Standard. Well so John le Carre told me
  6. How utterly sad and shocking news, my thoughts are with Phil and their family and friends at this dreadful time May Katie rest in peace
  7. Maybe for the finals we should have Monty Don at the start line with a live Mic. With luck he could get some personal interviews on technique and do a live commentary up until the Start Marshall tries to call them into line. We might also get some good tips on how to ensure our prized geraniums survive the winter. It has got worse over the last few years . We need better start line discipline in general a la Polish speedway with strict time limits. Adam could be the wildcard for Sheffield tonight, having won the British Championship there.
  8. I don't see the point of having a team manager there if he is not going to utilize the reserve, that's assuming the reserve can be used as a substitute
  9. Yes in the best interests of British Speedway naturally
  10. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Poole have been doing it for years when it comes to the play-offs.
  11. Let's hope tonights match doesn't get rained off . It should put a few more bums on seats. Be good to see Lambert racing in this country again. With luck the situation will be brought up at the Tory conference in Birmingham, and Truss and KamiKwasi will support the decision and will forbid any U turns.
  12. I feel that over the last couple of years Doyle, like Lindgren has become a bit of a dodgy rider.
  13. Doyle rode out into Dudek , deserved to go.
  14. Superb advert for speedway, shame it wasn't British speedway though. A cliff hanger right to the very end with some hard racing and a fantastic fanatical crowd. It had everything, bad luck efs to a very unfair exclusion. At the end of the day though I felt that Lublin fully deserved it for the fact that they've had a brilliant season. Almost like the good old days
  15. Will really make me smile if Adam wins it again, especially after all the bitching after the postponed meeting
  16. Bartosz head and shoulders above everone else tonight. Congratulations. Tai showing there’s still iLife in the old dog.
  17. Well done Mr Lambert , he was so close to getting Zmarzlik on the back straight on the first lap. He probably had the momentum. But Zmarzlik squeezed him very harshly, but then again that's racing at the top level. But overall a better night for Woffinden as well, surprised that with their experience in Poland that Dan and Robert both got tape exclusions.
  18. Referees like this make a complete farce of the sport. The referee and Woryna should both be excluded, as well as their team manager as that was the plan for the race if they didn’t make the gate.
  19. Cheers R&R, must have dreamt it was on tv, ill keep my eyes open for Lesno vid
  20. I was hoping this might be on the Kergel stream, but no luck so far
  21. Good meeting for Leon last night top scoring with 10+2 , looks like he's coming to terms with the Wolverhampton track and well on the pace. A good omen hopefully for the U19 European final on Saturday in Plzen..
  22. You'd better get to the drug store Chunky and get those longevity pills so that you last through next season and witness the new World Champion 2023 or maybe you can stretch it out till 2024 just in case he doesn't quite make it next year, good luck
  23. So Dan does it again, absolutely superb performance, I couldn't be more chuffed for him especially with the constant progress that he's made since his horrific injuries. For a while now I've been thinking that there could be something special about him and Robert as well, and want them both to have equally good careers. Working on the assumption that the data next to their names at the starting gate is their actual heart rate, it was noticeable last night in the Final that Dan's rate was much lower than the others. Super cool. Two brilliant meetings, though very different, from Wroclaw over the last two nights. Super entertainment. More of the double act again guys please. Not forgetting some brilliant rides from Tai as well.
