  1. For me the highlight was the cameraman concentrating on the serious gardening at the starts, whilst Chris just sits back and watches the nonsense, then he just nonchalantly tolls forward when the Marshall eventually calls them to the line, and off he goes and saved some wear and tear on his boots.
  2. Only just caught up with this sad news, I know that my memory is rubbish these days, but I remember having a natter with him in the pits at Brandon when he was a stalwart with Oxford. A helpful bloke. RIP Eric
  3. Shocked and saddened at the news, you'll always be remembered John, my thoughts are with Chris and all the family. You were a bit special on a bike. RIP John Louis
  4. Thats good news . We'd better get her in the line up then on her speedy buggy !
  5. It's a bit frightening eh, I'd slot in at number 25, I haven't seen Gemini around the forum for a while but I think she slots in at number 16 in these days of equality.

Very very sad and shocking news to wake up to this morning. A very underrated talent and always portrayed as Ron's sidekick you might say, but what a brilliant pairing they made on track. he was a key member of the team in the '60s A pleasure to watch racing and progress constantly, and what a season when he qualified for the World Final. a decent guy all round, he gave me some good advice when I had similar shoulder problems in 67, thanks Rick. RIP Rick my thoughts are with Rick's family and friends, a truly sad day for the Bees.
  7. Thanks Dave for posting that video, Jeff deserves some serious award for his dedication along with many others in the fight for Brandon. It’s heartwarming to see the little men win the battle with a Goliath.. On a personal note , my back straight spot sounds like it’s still. In decent nick.
  8. Well that's a brilliant surprise and hopefully a step in the right direction towards a better future.for the village. That stadium was my home for twelve years from the age of eleven, so it always had a special place in my life. I mustn't get too euphoric as we've got to find a real way forward for everybody on our side of the fence. Mega thanks and congratulations to all those that have worked so hard to achieve this result. The City and Rugby both need a good stadium site, with luck it can still be Brandon.
  9. RIP Gusty and friends. It really is very sad news, My thoughts are with John’s family at this sad time. Keep posting Gusty and give us all a shock eh ! bit late with this post, been away for a couple of weeks or so.
  10. It might be better if you quoted a link when you post information so that we know if its fact, or just your fantasies.
  11. Chris must be coming up to 25 years in the top flight. And he always comes good in the second half of the season as regular as clockwork. Warmest congratulations to Glasgow and the faithful Paulco, a well deserved win. Almost feels as good as 2010, is Shovlar going to disappear to Rome again for sanctuary, I wonder.
  12. Bet it will still come down tp heats 13 and 15 to be the decisive ones.
  13. Farcical decision, Emil was elbowing Lambert and nearly rode under him. Bit of luck hor Ippo
  14. Great track and a great final, thoroughly enjoyed the whole meeting.
  15. Quality trophy’s, kind of beats a bit of perspex with Cardiff written on it .
  16. Congratulations to Zmarzlik best man again this year by a long way. Martin Vaculik deserved more out of it.
  17. Naivety from Lambert this time, still he’s had a good season
  18. You beat me to it , he is as bad as Lindgren
  19. Enjoyable meeting tonight. Very pleased for Cierniak, well deserved double SGP2 Champion. depite his cock-up tonight. Congrats tp Ratajczak and Kowalski, certainly shows that yet again Polish speedway looks set for a good future. Henriksson looks very good as does Pedersen, and should be an interesting few years ahead on the international scene.
  20. Incredible result for Wroclaw, another brilliant final heat from Bewley. Considering the injury to Woffinden and losing two more riders to injury tonight, the people of Wroclaw must be feeling proud of their lads tonight' With sixteen year old Malkiewicz and young Kowalski weighing in with 18 points from the reserve positions, Poland have certainly found another two bright stars. Would have loved to have been there for the atmosphere tonight in that rocking stadium, speedway at it's best.
  21. I don't know and hopefully someone will be able to tell us. In such illustrious company today I thought he was brilliant to top score for Wroclaw with twelve points.
