Robert Lightfoot - Former Rider
jrs replied to The Doctor...'s topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To the best of my knowledge he is Jim's lad, as Jim used to work with my old man. I am sure I heard that Robert had a business in the Rugby area I think in the furniture or flooring . Elmo, was David Blackburn the son of Mick Blackburn ? -
Probably the Positive Thinker

Read it again ....... sorry to disappoint you, but I did not say that you did hate etc, the post did not mention you TWK.

But Screm we have been reminded so many times that Berwick is a most professionally run club, seems that the consortium must be happy that there spokesperson makes a fool of himself on here continuously using a variety of different user names. Lets hope he and his aliases and yes men make a new year resolution to be adults and not forum fannies

We haven't had so many laughs on here for donkeys years as we've had in the last couple of days. It's better than reading the constant tirades of xenophobia, and hatred of Muslims and the French and any other foreigners. I think SCB will be the top (no pun intended) of the nominations for this years forum awards

Really sad to hear the news, I've good memories of Bryan, an entertainer who was readily accepted at Coventry, even though he had spent many years being booed at Brandon as a member of the enemy from Leicester. Thanks Bryan for the memories, my thoughts are with your family, RIP

I certainly hope not ! Sad to say that Freddie has really gone downhill this year

Polish Promotion/relegation Sunday 4th October
jrs replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Gutted for Darcy and I wish him all the best for his recovery. I don't think people should be posting speculative information on here, but to wait for official statements from the hospital and his clubs. I just hope the news will be better tomorrow -
RIP Shazz, such sad news, and taken so young, but I'll always remember how chuffed you were when you were in the SKY ad for the GP. My thoughts are with your family and friends Shazzy

Are both Pawlickis Cov assets ? Be nice to see Emil or Grigori Laguta come over for a short spell, just dreaming lol

If I was the promoter at Coventry or Swindon or for that matter any team expecting to be in the play-offs the last thing I would do would be to take a Poole Agent(rider) on loan. Cov need to use the points available to strengthen the team or once again they will lose out. The other teams will certainly do their utmost to strengthen for the play-offs.

Surprisingly I noticed this on the BBC website today http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-31013387 It will bring back memories for many !

It's great to have Silver Bee regularly texting again, his humour makes bad nights for the Bees more bearable Keep it going SB, and thanks BTW -
Is Bridget Jones the new signing then ? ;-)

Air Ambulance Rescues Speedway Rider
jrs replied to peatbog's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It's a new series on Sky about the Great North Air Ambulance Service who really do make a difference between life and death in the North East and North West, sadly both areas with very poor A&E coverage. -
I would just like to publicly thank Sue, Youngy, Fozzie and every single one of the Updates team who provide us with an invaluable and free service during the season. You really are well and truly very much appreciated. Thank you guys

I must admit I've sadly been thinking along the same lines, apart from the disastrous track conditions on many occasions that have depressed so many supporters this season, I've yet to hear or read any real commitment from Messrs Horton and Watson about the future. Apologies if I've missed anything but in the past Neil has frequently used this forum to let the fans know what their plans are.

That would be a 3TT then

Coventry --save Our Speedway E-petition
jrs replied to Main Man's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Done, spent many hours and days there in my childhood and youth, it will be a sad day if it can't be saved ! -
I reckon that teams who need guests in the playoffs, whether it be a semi or the final, should not be allowed to use a guest from any other team that has been involved in the playoffs.

I would think that Mr Gillias would have to stand down for the hearing of an application as it would surely be seen as a "conflict of interest" issue. I think the biggest barrier for saving Brandon is the changes to planning regulations that the money grabbing Tories have brought in. It's just whatMr Sandhu and the predatory developers have been waiting for since his desire for the sport was killed off. It will be a very sad day if that permission is given and I doubt very much that an alternative site will ever be sourced and a track built. And sad to think how rosy everything seemed when Mr Sandhu took over. It really is an utter shame as it should be a premier venue for Speedway, and I think it would have achieved that had Sandhu been able to influence the sport to modernise and restructure.

I feel sorry for the KL supporters, not only because of the wasted travel costs, but also because I believe that last night they would have comfortably turned over Poole and then gone on to meet Cov. No doubt the Poole team on Thursday will bear no resemblance to last nights team. To be honest I actually feel that Poole quite unashamedly and intentionally did nothing to counteract the effects of the forecast weather and were banking on a postponement. I feel sorry for the loads of genuine Poole supporters for the embarrassment caused by their promotion and management yesterday
