A troll. Me ? in eighteen years on this forum I have made around 1,600 posts In the last eight years you have made 10825 posts as Addio, plus several thousand under your other identities. So if anybody is a troll somehow I think it is you
-
Good god Addio, it's time you took your own advice and stopped pretending your posts are fact, so please make sure you prefix them with "this post is just some old duffers waffling opinion" instead of making out you're a world authority on every subject.

I well remember all the publicity and fanfare in the local papers when he was signed, and he lived up to his reputation and gave us some lively meetings. CO was quite enterprising at bringing foreign surprises in to ride for us. Soderman, Zyto, Warren, Young, Biggs were just a few of the names that he brought in to add some real quality into the Bees and keep us happy.

Maybe Banksy could take it over as he did in Weston Super Mare, and turned a derelict site into a depressed theme park or something similar. Get some Bristolians to track him down.

Surely as the club have taken their customers money it is their duty to keep season ticket holders updated continuously. Very poor PR A decent business looks after it's customers. The way things are going there won't be many left. Whatever happened to the regular newsletters that we used to get.

So very sad and purely a result of greed, when a philanthropist was needed. That was my second home from 1955 to 1967 and to see all of the different parts of the stadium that I used to roam now left to die and rot away. I see Gemini's spot is still there. for me it was always the back straight. It's desecration.

Send James Sargeant over to Poland for intense training

Looking back at it I reckon Woryna was a tad unlucky to go,. seemed to me that Wozniak may have opted to get off knowing Woryna would go. Well done Noviak, that's what speedway is about

Thanks Prime Minister

Is Gorzow on the same channel ? Thanks
-
He quite possibly has reappeared on the forum already

Well done sandman, I trust he's enjoying it. I did win £30 on Saturday, doubt that'll help get me to the Caribbean though
-
Seems strange reading sandman's posts again after all these years, he was one of the forum's real characters. He just seemed to fade off the forum. Anybody know if he still posts ? My old brain tries to tell me he was living in the Caribbean on a boat !

Same here whenever I could escape homework and chores, a simple little game that gave years of fun, and even winter tours to India, the mysterious lands of Oz and New Zealand.

Probably Ronnie Smiths father
-
I was thinking along the same lines, that some inventive youngster, probably Ronnie Smith, might have had his own invented game and even typed up a programme for it. I remember in the early 50's brother and I had an "Owzat" game, and we would have county games and test matches with full eleven man teams, and occasionally include ourselves in the teams. These matches were often abandoned though as my brother would often storm off when he was losing. He's still a bad loser lol. There wasn't much else to do in those days with no TV or computers.

If he missed the gate he'd probably have problems trying to pass me let alone the old lady

Weren't they called standpipes ? Memories of '76 and the aftermath of the '87 hurricane. I saw one last week when the water authority were testing water quality outside my place, and they used a temporary standpipe and left it gushing with water for 30 minutes.

When I used the word heritage I was really referring to my own personal heritage and how it has always been part of me, though a distant part these days. I am sure if it was a formally recognised heritage site it would be better protected.
-
Few minutes ago i just thought I'd have a quick look at the telegraph site to catch up on news and there was the video and headlines. So sad to see so much of my childhood and youth rotting away. Even worse is that developers are perfectly happy to destroy a heritage site for what they hope will be big gains. But the way the economy is heading it may be many more years before anything comes to fruition at Brandon .

As a Brandon supporter I remember Charlie Barsby well, and along with any Leicester rider in the fifties and sixties they were the sworn enemy. And he never failed to entertain us and rile us at the same time. RIP Charlie, thoughts are with your family and friends.
