Was working up in Middlesbrough today, so decided to try and find the site of Cleveland Park Stadium. Am I right in guessing that it was on the site of the 5-a-side football pitches, next to the college, in the shadow of the flyover?

Gary Cottham has a badly broken leg sustained at Rye House a few weeks ago.

Can't see stadium owners Corals allowing that. There is racing every Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday evening, plus housing on 3 sides. Forget it, It'll never happen.

I'm surprised that two Kings Lynn riders were among those unwilling to ride on a wet slippery track, seeing as that's how it's prepared at the NA everytime Rye House are there.

Still waiting for Shane Waldron to recover from his injury I believe he wasn't far behind Josh in the pecking order.

My only recolection of speedway had been Dave Lannings commentary on World of Sport, which I suppose must have been a world final, dunno, didn't take much notice. Sat in the home straight grandstand as the riders bikes were wheeled out by the track staff for the parade, then....WOW!!! as the bikes were pushed off for practice, laps. The sight, the sound and the smell of 14 bikes being ridden around the track. Been hooked ever since!
