  1. I only have the Tigers scores, but it was 14 points. Very different Tigers team though. Craig had 15, Broc 5, Ricky 3+1, Sam 12 but from reserve. Ricky and Sam are key for us. If they turn up, we can win big. If they don’t, it becomes a struggle. We were much more predictable in the middle of the season with Ulrich at 5 and Ricky at 3. We’ve found balance a bit hard to come by since then. id really love to see Ulrich and Marcin back next season. They’re both great to watch.
  2. But also the best I remember him riding this season. Making starts, passing for fun when he needed to.
  3. I agree on top 4 rather than top 6 for playoffs, but I also understand why it’s top 6. It does mean there’s more speedway top watch, and if the season starts when it should next year, perhaps it will be easier. Perhaps. Really looking forward to the final, not least because when Poole visited at the start of the season, it was streaming only (I think). Will be nice to see in person, even if it will be cold. Forecast is grim but Tuesday’s forecast is only for light rain at the moment, so a little improvement might make the difference, as it did this week. I’m trying to be optimistic.
  4. Completely forgot this was a 2:30. Might have taken a trip across to cheer on Poole if I’d remembered. I’d like to see them win one trophy but definitely not the other one!
  5. The tapes are as frozen as the rest of us! Been very reliable except when the Monarchs are in town...
  6. It’s been covered already in the thread a few times, but Miskowiak was being examined for an injury from earlier on, and at the same time, there were medics with a spectator who had taken unwell. This took a while and there were multiple, frequent conversations between the referee and the clerk of the course. To be honest, it was the crash in heat 13 that was the real cause of the early finish. Medics were with Kubera/Ellis for quite a while - they were still on track when I left, although obviously time pressures disappear once a meeting is off. Without the crash, we’d have been OK, though conditions for heat 15 would’ve been suboptimal.
  7. To be fair, they might have been planning to after the meeting, but obviously didn't get a chance to because of how it finished. It was a bit of a shame though.
  8. Hopefully we see more of them at Tigers meetings in future. Maybe if we sign Marcin for next year, we might convince some of them.
  9. They were getting on with it, but they'd already had a delay for one crash, and another delay for Miskowiak to receive medical attention (and there was a paramedic require with a fan at that time too). So yes, there were delays, but they weren't really avoidable. Outside those, the referee was very quick with the two minutes and track work was brisk. There were at least two other restarts too.
  10. Nasty accident in 13 there, and I think the weather might mean we're done for the night.
  11. No, 7:30. Rain has passed and clear skies for a while now. It looks like we should be OK.
  12. Track staff have made the dirt look great. Light rain has started though.
  13. So Glasgow are at home to Edinburgh on Thursday? I've not seen this at all on social media/website.
  14. Covers in use for Test match. Not sure who they belong to. Can’t find the Facebook post/comment where I saw it originally.
  15. It’s not daft. The 42 heats are to get you to the knockout. If you top score, you get a bye to the final, but it’s not handed to you on a plate. Keeps people interested for longer, means you don’t end up with dead rubbers at the end of the event. A well established principle in many sports, including other speedway competitions…
  16. Held it together when Magic didn’t. Mental side is just as important as the mechanics of riding. No shame in it. It’s not like anyone punted him off.
  17. Which makes sense if the rule is consistent - but it wasn’t. Hellstrom-Bangs replaced Aspgren in the Re-run of heat 6. How did that happen? I didn’t understand that at all, especially given the other riders couldn’t be replaced later. Did anyone else notice that?
  18. Which teams? They all put in a good account yesterday, apart from Sweden who had pretty compelling mitigating circumstances (and Hellstrom-Bangs certainly did better than many expected).
  19. I believe they expected Laguta and Emil to essentially work for free, and were giving them next to no support, so they declined to participate. The replacements just weren't good enough to qualify.
  20. They will certainly do everything they can to get the meeting on, but I got the impression from a comment from one of the track staff on Facebook that they don't think covers will make any real difference (but yes, they are using them).
  21. Banning them would definitely not help given the number of clubs that have been lost already. But there’s a question about the product. My experience of the product last night made me think £18.50 was bad value for money, so I’m not planning to go back. But then again, home support is more important for speedway teams, so I guess as long as the home fans are happy with the product, that’s what matters most. The track did seem well suited to the Wildcats meeting afterwards though, which was an interesting watch.
  22. Clubs would soon put clocks in place if the ref keeps excluding the home riders for exceeding the time limits!
  23. Yeah, I was surprised at the home crowd on turns 3/4 booing before anything had started. I've never seen that at any other track. I don't plan to go tomorrow. Nothing to do with tonight's performance. It just didn't seem like a great racetrack. Maybe I'm weird, but I can't get massively tribal. I'm just a hedonist who wants to be entertained. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Ashfield.
