  1. That would be a very positive spin.
  2. Don’t see why that would be the case. He has an official average: 7.36.
  3. Shooting those seagulls should be an interval contest. I have seen the video of Bomber in heat one from the starting tapes. He is clearly contacted, so I was wrong on that. None of us on the third bend saw that at the time.
  4. Possibly, but they were right to be incensed. Totally Ivacic's fault. Bomber shouldn't have been allowed back in heat one either.
  5. I heard Leon would be at 5, so they must have changed their minds. Personally, I would have preferred R/R, but with two new riders tonight, perhaps that was a gamble too far. No good reason for us to lose tonight, even with Worrall out. James should do very well at reserve, Jack should be fine at 2, presumably it was Ivacic practicing yesterday so I’d expect him to get off to a good start as well. Worrall, Starke and Ace combined to average about 14 points in home meetings so far this year. Probably need Ivacic to score about 9 if we want to improve on that.
  6. More bizarre Ben Barker thinks it's a good idea! Not such an issue for Glasgow, as we'll get him the first night.
  7. Yes, and you can't return before then.
  8. If he's signed off medically, you should get a facility. I believe you have completed 75% of your fixtures, so I don't think signing a replacement is an option.
  9. Ice hockey at Braehead seems to be one thing. People like routine. Football clubs might not be at home every week, or exactly every second week, but they also don't go five weeks without a home match. Except for Dundee, of course.
  10. If there are enough blank weeks, people find other things to do. Gradually, they take priority. People like rhythms. Speedway is just too sporadic for some now. Or they just don't know when it's on!
  11. Location isn't the issue. Price is the issue. Hopefully Workington proves that tomorrow.
  12. Depends on average. Under 24 only: 5. 3rd tier, average 4.50 or higher: 6.
  13. Not many guest options. Might be good to try and sign a 28 day replacement.
  14. Every problem is Cami’s fault, and all success is in spite of him. I don’t make the rules… but those are the rules. He definitely lives rent free in some people’s heads though!
  15. Not by season start. His birthday is 15 April.
  16. His average is 5.44 from 6 meetings, and is effective from this Friday.
  17. Jack’s home average is too good to let go. It’s unfortunate timing given Ace has just had his best week of the season, but the trouble is, they’ve been looking at team options for weeks, and this was likely done before those improved performances. It looks harsh now, but if Ace had continued his previous form for the last week, it wouldn’t look nearly as harsh - he’d hardly beaten an opposition rider all season. Before last week, I’d have (reluctantly) said, for Ace’s long term benefit, it was probably better to have him focus on the NDL where he can do well, rather than continually get beaten and lose confidence in the Championship. Awkward timing, but removing the emotion from the decision, I see why it’s been done. I’m sure fans will be split down the middle about whether it’s right or not, but if they’d done nothing, they’d be taking heat from the other 50%.
  18. Tom’s put 0.6 on his average this season. He had a bad meeting guesting for Ipswich and an unfortunate crash tonight. Other than that, he’s been scoring well. Some people just expect too much.
  19. I wouldn’t get rid of Jack. He’s scoring at home and he’s exceeded expectations. If a rider plays their part, they should keep their place, for me. Same goes for Worrall. He’s done what he could be expected to do, so he should keep his place. Not his fault he was missing last night. Ace has also had two good meetings in a row now, so I’m inclined to say he should stay too. It’s fair to say he’s not met expectations this year, but getting rid of him when it looks like things might be starting to click would be silly. We’ve stuck with him for long enough that we should give him the opportunity to show this is a real improvement and not a flash in the pan. We have to give space for young riders to develop. I’m a bit concerned about Pearson. He was poor last night. He has shown good improvement at home, but the away form isn’t cutting it at the moment. Leon has got better over the season and he’s put in some gutsy rides on the road. Bomber seems a bit distracted/frustrated this season, but he’s scoring as you’d expect. Which leaves Paul. He doesn’t look fast, he doesn’t look like turning it around, and I’m struggling to see the fire burning inside. If we’re going to make a change, it needs to be him. Butnweve been talking about this for a long time now and there’s been a lot of false dawns, so I’m not holding out a lot of hope. I think the loss last night makes the aggregate point difficult, and this was a fairly important aggregate point to win.
