  1. I love how you're all talking as if there's any prize money available... Is there any?
  2. Oh yes, let's just say she wasn't a detail person.
  3. It won't bother Marcin - he only knows about 10 words of English anyway! I don't think any of the side will be lacking motivation to be honest. The biggest question is going to be, how many foam bags are going to need replacing? I expect the racing will be wild.
  4. I didn't mind the catering switch at Glasgow last year, although I liked it before too. Berwick is always decent. Edinburgh is passable. Rye House was the best, but growing up a golf swing away from the track, I'd never say a bad word about it...
  5. We sometimes do 15:00 starts on a Sunday too. And the British Youth Championship last year was a 14:00 start, although that's 30 heats. Until the football has been decided, we won't know.
  6. However, the Old Firm is currently scheduled for a Saturday 8 April at 3pm, and that will move. They will be waiting on the SPL deciding whether to play the game at lunchtime on Saturday, or Sunday.
  7. Correction. Glasgow Tigers now have it listed as 12:00 on Sunday 9 April. Source: https://glasgowtigers.co.uk/the-2023-fixtures-list/ @westlakejawa
  8. Yes. Harris Nowak Basso Vissing Brennan Complin Pijper Source:
  9. Well, there won't be any racing on in those weeks, so it gives us something other than our usual fixture moans
  10. No. Both dates reserved still, publicly at least.
  11. I wouldn't agree Ben Cook is better than Brennan right now, but I would agree he has strong upside. And whilst I like Tom a lot, he needs to do more to demonstrate progression this year. Maybe with a year under his belt at 5, we will see that. Although I struggle to understand why Glasgow are running Ben at 3 and Tom at 5 - I'd have them the other way round, personally.
  12. Knowing the speedway calendar, it'll be January 40th when they come out.
  13. I'm pleased for Craig. I think it's a good move for him. He showed this season he's just as good as he was, it's just about finding a way to produce it every week. I'm sure he'll be a great signing for Edinburgh.
  14. Really? I think the convenience argument is a good one. It's just so hard to guarantee you'll be at all meetings with that weather, so I tend to just buy on the day.
  15. Last season, a season ticket barely registered a saving at all. It does mean if you can't guarantee being at every single meeting, a season ticket isn't worth it.
  16. Not sure Harris will increase his average, but I reckon Tom, Claus and Marcin will.
  17. Just because you can overtake doesn’t means there’s no a home track advantage. There absolutely is. The track still has plenty of options, tricks and variables that home riders know much better than visiting riders. Also, just look at Glasgow’s home record. Aside from the playoff defeat, we’ve had a draw with Poole, which was an aberration, the results clearly show visiting teams don’t come to Ashfield and find it easy. If anything, most matches look closer on paper than in person because we try really hard to avoid winning any of the last five heats.
  18. Bangin' top5 and intrigue at reserve. Should be good. I would definitely put Basso at 5 ahead of Tom though. I'd say Tom at 3, Claus at 4, Marcin at 2, initially.
  19. Sunday means competing with football at some times (not great when there's usually one of the Old Firm playing most Sundays during the season), and things like F1 at others. That's probably not great for attracting casual fans. That said, the racing at Armadale.isnt good enough to make it a big problem for me. If Edinburgh get a new stadium where you get better racing, maybe I'd feel more FOMO.
  20. Just need them to add to the attendance at Ashfield! Hopefully the promoters can get some good promotion early in the season, or just before it, and not right before a three month break for the playoff semi final...
  21. I don’t think we do press releases, isn’t that the whole reason our signings never appear in official places for ages?
  22. Marcin Nowak will be on the inside. He’ll be the only one, but you’ll want to get out of the way fast when he appears!
  23. I don’t know what to think about Complin. He had some good flashes this season, so maybe we’ll see a few more next season. We’ll see. If Claus is the missing link, then let’s be honest, it’s a very solid top 5, with experience at 6 and a 7 who might improve significantly during the season. All of the top 5 would make good heat leaders so it should take the pressure of reserve a little.
