Looking forward to visiting. Track looks great, prices seem good. Just need to find time in the diary!

I don't think the club will have a problem putting on a meeting on the 25th if needed. But fitting in meetings wasn't a problem for us last season.
-
It was a fantastic event, despite the desert conditions! It was mentioned a few times at meetings, but the club could have advertised it better. No idea how the attendance compared to the meetings at other tracks though.

They want to take over the Crownpoint Glasgow Life facility and develop it. No idea what the plans are for the existing facilities, but it's one of the few accessible running tracks in Glasgow so I'd hope there would be strings attached, to make them keep it. Not sure what the status is tbh. The owner died last year, no idea who controls it now. The site is a crumbling mess and unless anyone has a real passion to resurrect the stadium (unlikely, as Clyde are looking elsewhere and I can't think of anyone else who might want it), it's most likely going to either become a housing development, or be scooped up by the Clyde Gateway urban regeneration project.

Footy channel on YouTube, looking at Shawfield Stadium. Glasgow Tigers/Scottish Monarchs get a brief mention. Not a lot of footage but a few pics/short videos:

Cab Direct Championship

It amazes me how much stick Gerry and Peter get. In my experience, pretty straightforward, people-focused, invested in the community, great at business. They seem very private but that’s all. -

I love how you're all talking as if there's any prize money available... Is there any? -

No opinion offered on that one. -
Who has the best start marshal?

Oh yes, let's just say she wasn't a detail person. -
It won't bother Marcin - he only knows about 10 words of English anyway! I don't think any of the side will be lacking motivation to be honest. The biggest question is going to be, how many foam bags are going to need replacing? I expect the racing will be wild.

I didn't mind the catering switch at Glasgow last year, although I liked it before too. Berwick is always decent. Edinburgh is passable. Rye House was the best, but growing up a golf swing away from the track, I'd never say a bad word about it... -
We sometimes do 15:00 starts on a Sunday too. And the British Youth Championship last year was a 14:00 start, although that's 30 heats. Until the football has been decided, we won't know.
-
However, the Old Firm is currently scheduled for a Saturday 8 April at 3pm, and that will move. They will be waiting on the SPL deciding whether to play the game at lunchtime on Saturday, or Sunday.

Correction. Glasgow Tigers now have it listed as 12:00 on Sunday 9 April. Source: https://glasgowtigers.co.uk/the-2023-fixtures-list/ @westlakejawa

Well, there won't be any racing on in those weeks, so it gives us something other than our usual fixture moans
-
No. Both dates reserved still, publicly at least.
-
I wouldn't agree Ben Cook is better than Brennan right now, but I would agree he has strong upside. And whilst I like Tom a lot, he needs to do more to demonstrate progression this year. Maybe with a year under his belt at 5, we will see that. Although I struggle to understand why Glasgow are running Ben at 3 and Tom at 5 - I'd have them the other way round, personally.
-
Knowing the speedway calendar, it'll be January 40th when they come out.
-
I'm pleased for Craig. I think it's a good move for him. He showed this season he's just as good as he was, it's just about finding a way to produce it every week. I'm sure he'll be a great signing for Edinburgh.
-
Really? I think the convenience argument is a good one. It's just so hard to guarantee you'll be at all meetings with that weather, so I tend to just buy on the day.
-
Indeed.
-
Last season, a season ticket barely registered a saving at all. It does mean if you can't guarantee being at every single meeting, a season ticket isn't worth it.
-
Not sure Harris will increase his average, but I reckon Tom, Claus and Marcin will.

Just because you can overtake doesn’t means there’s no a home track advantage. There absolutely is. The track still has plenty of options, tricks and variables that home riders know much better than visiting riders. Also, just look at Glasgow’s home record. Aside from the playoff defeat, we’ve had a draw with Poole, which was an aberration, the results clearly show visiting teams don’t come to Ashfield and find it easy. If anything, most matches look closer on paper than in person because we try really hard to avoid winning any of the last five heats.
