  1. He's been great. Scunthorpe started well but they're getting demolished now. Shame we've hit the interval. Watch Glasgow ride like they've never seen the track before, in ten minutes' time...
  2. Yeah, that was quality. The 250s provided a few good races. There were a few unrefined but decent riders there, which is exactly what you want to see.
  3. They were as fast as many reserve times. He’s got talent.
  4. Well of you want to be picky, it was 34 heats. I think it was more like 150 people, but definitely well up on last year. The 500cc was a bit of a joke, although Ashton was fast! Incidentally, what is the technical difference between the two 125cc classes? The heat times were about 6 seconds apart.
  5. We had dates available. If we didn't want to race, why did we manage to arrange races with Poole in the playoffs? Surely that would be the competition we'd want to win more, and be awkward about dates... Yet we managed to provide a banged up 7 regardless. If we could provide 7 for that, I don't see why we'd make it a problem for the cup. So it doesn't make sense to me that we were the awkward ones. We are the most flexible team on dates. We own our track and I don't know of any local restrictions. Regardless, the real fault is with the speedway authorities for not organising things properly at a central level. It shouldn't be up to any club to dictate things. Set the date, tell the teams to turn up, or forfeit. Easy!
  6. That was the PR reason. The real reason was, they knew it wasn't going to happen regardless. They were trying not to publicly throw everyone else under the bus - not that it did them any good!
  7. The meeting lasts 2.5/3 hours. £10 is good value.
  8. That team that pulled out because it was clear the final wasn't going to happen and it risked looking really silly, is really looking likes the fools, huh? They should just accept the competition wasn't finished. Leicester don't even race in the Championship any more. Or, just give the trophy to Poole... They'd probably have won it anyway. There was never any hope of completing this last season. It's pointless now, and quite ridiculous.
  9. Yeah, I just expected the away rider to be excluded, that's all.
  10. Great racing, great racetrack, solid away win. Vissing very lucky in heat 3.
  11. It was absolutely fantastic, despite the dust. I think I barely counted 30 punters all afternoon though, which was a shame.
  12. The promotion have decided to make call-offs very early for a few years now. It's not a new thing. Home fans have on the whole been very supportive of this, and that's their main source of income. It might be different to how others do it, but it does seem to work well up here.
  13. Because the promotion have been burned a few times by bad weather that was worse than expected, and a repeat of Berwick only three weeks later would be pretty awkward.
  14. Yes, I think the Championship subscription includes the BSN Semi Finals.
  15. My estimation is about 500 people on the average race night, yes. But that's a very unscientific manual head count, not from anywhere official, so I could be wrong. To me it definitely feels the crowd is smaller than back in 2018/19. And as I've said before, for all the great stuff they do, I don't feel like the promotion are very good at promoting the product. We're spoiled rotten by the racing at Ashfield - both the track and the riders - but I do think they really need to get someone in to help them advertise better. It's not that they don't do anything, it just seems to lack consistency.
  16. Well Eurosport put cameras on bikes last year, so may as well stick a mic in the leathers too.
  17. On the Facebook live, they said all the fixtures will be live on BSN. Maybe they'll send Dave Rowe to one, Eurosport style. Just as long as they don't use Sam Ermolenko too!
  18. I suspect they'll use the existing dates this competition and re-organise the league for later. Might help if Glasgow can organise the second leg of the Redcar KO Cup for 26 May too.
  19. Yes, we do seem to get in tight meetings with Scunthorpe, but like I said earlier, I don't really have a big preference.
  20. That Cab Direct sponsorship is working well
  21. You need a longer fishing rod on me!
  22. Does make you wonder though, why didn’t they make it a three-way final?
  23. Yeah, I’d like the teams from the same group to be kept apart. Obviously some people would hate that because they’d think it’s a conspiracy to ensure Glasgow and Poole get to the final! I don’t have a strong preference. Anyone will do. I have a soft spot for Redcar, so wouldn’t mind having them up for an extra match.
  24. Yeah, for all the great stuff the Glasgow promotion do, the actual promotion of the club and its activities has really dropped the last couple of years. They need to get back to it if they want new people coming through the doors.
