  1. 2 withdrawals. Knudsen hit the metal fence in heat 2 and Piper had a horrible head-on impact with the air fence in heat 8. We've also had Greg Blair exchanging signals with the ref at one point (although the ref was in the right).
  2. Weather forecasters don't have to get it right though! We've had a bit of everything tonight... Apart from passing. Not a lot of that.
  3. Right, yes, I forgot that. I'd still use a reserve in 5 and put Jorgensen in 6 for an extra ride.
  4. I didn't understand it either. Surely IRR in heat 5, then T/S in heat 6 to replace Greg Blair would have been the best option.
  5. Yep, draw on the night and it's winner takes all in the Super Heat, I believe. That would be the sensible thing to do anyway...
  6. Track looks better than at the start two weeks ago, when it was also very good. Should be a good meeting. Can't see Berwick winning though. Couldn't see rain coming two weeks ago mind!
  7. The rain must have stopped at Ruchill then. Drumchapel, Maryhill and the city centre are all depressingly wet.
  8. Not in Cowcaddens, which isn't a long way from Ashfield.
  9. Amazingly, they're saying the track is dry (no idea how - it's wet everywhere else!) With no more rain expected, so they are confident. My track record on the weather is pretty bad tbf.
  10. Weather is awful. Early call off, surely. It's wet everywhere north/west of the city this morning, and doesn't look like changing.
  11. Well, if you deal with 1), then 2) is a lot easier. And if you manage 3) hopefully more people turn up, which helps those even more. But if you want to grow the sport, you need to do more to include younger fans, and ultimately, no matter what you do, if you don't control your stadium, sometimes getting all those things right doesn't matter. If Edinburgh owned their own track then it their future would look a lot brighter. Their current track is a bit crap, but I also totally understand why it doesn't change. If they build a new one of their own, I'm sure it would be better, and then on Fridays when Glasgow aren't at home, I'll happily spend my money there. The reason I don't go there is because the racing is dull.
  12. Make it cheaper to run. Make it cheaper to attend. Make it exciting to watch. Give young people more opportunities to get on a bike and experience the thrill. Find a way to stop being at the mercy of landlords.
  13. Shouldn't this be advertised as Poole vs ROW?
  14. That would be a surprise when Greg was in the pits all night on Friday! Does seem odd.
  15. It’s a shame Lasse fell in heat six. That was going to be very interesting in the last lap.
  16. Yeah, Cookie and Pickering are likely to clean up points, and I think Jacob Hook will pick up a handy number at reserve too.
  17. Tough one on the under/over for passes vs Poole on Wednesday. I’m going to go for the over because Pickering will miss at least one gate.
  18. 30-5. They didn't even manage to collect the solitary point in every heat.
  19. Yes, app doesn't work any more. Sign in on a browser and you can watch from there. You can also sign in on a TV, or use Airplay or Chromecast. All seems to be working well.
  20. I hope Glasgow don’t have Plymouth at Ashfield more than once, because once of that will be more than enough. Absolute gash.
  21. Pensioners are statistically the least likely age group to live in poverty (although older pensioners over 80 are more likely to live in poverty than those under 80).
  22. I’ll agree with this, to a point. I’ve seen some good racing at National League level at Berwick. I think that’s because of the wider skill gap though. It seems to be too hard at Championship level. When I’ve been to a double header, the Bullets meeting has always been far better.
