Glasgow (28) vs (62) PIRATES BSN Final 2nd leg 21st July

I don't count anything before turn three. Lee and Kyle swapped places twice in heat two. Chris Harris passed Anders Rowe in heat one. That's three passes. -

I didn't hear either. -

Agreed. On that one, get your eyes tested. Clear jump. Unsatisfactory start. -

3 passes in the first four heats. Not great for Glasgow, but more than I've ever seen in a Poole meeting on BSN. -

I believe the seating was intended to be ready for tonight, and I’m not aware of it being an additional cost. -

Particularly that close to the end of the season. I think you’re writing off the playoffs if you change at that point. -

The best I can come up with for right now is Sam McGurk. He’s not an upgrade in my eyes. Would he be worse? People will differ on that. One thing that was pointed out to me is, we have 8 Championship matches left. You only want a replacement to ride in 7 matches, because that way, they are still on an assessed average at the start of next season. So, if management want to make a replacement, it would make sense after the next Championship fixture, to allow more options for next year, and for a replacement to build form this year. Realistically, it’s only worth the risk for a rider you want to sign for next year. -

It’s probably worth remembering also that three bikes hit the fence at once, in different places. That’s a lot of force spread out over a much wider area than one guy sliding in. The force of impact has to go somewhere, and if nothing moves at all, that just means all the force has gone straight into the bikes and riders, which would be far worse. -
Agreed.

Yeah, Scott's really got it sorted this year, something's clicking that had been missing for a bit. It's great to see him doing well. -

I’m annoyed. We threw that away. We didn’t need to win - losing by 8 would be fine, easy enough to pull back at home with the boys firing. Just dumb choices in crucial moments. Good to see Marcin on it tonight. -

Bomber should’ve been in with Marcin for heat 15, they were a good pairing tonight. Ben just tripped Bomber up repeatedly. -

His Championship average has gone up, although he's been poor tonight. -
You could have “exclude Wright on the night” too.

Connor was seriously impressive today. Some great passing in that final, committed to the outside and made it work.

9 passes in the 7 heats since then.

That's the figure they quoted in 2019, which is why it gets repeated. I'm fairly sure that figure also only includes ongoing running costs, not any capital investment. So next year they want to replace the air fence, at an advertised cost of about £40,000, but I suspect they would count that separately. Quite possibly the same with things like the lighting and the new turn three stand, which I'm sure I read somewhere was going in this week in time for the under-21 final.

Really? 20 meetings at 45 points a meeting, paying £100/a point, would be £90,000 before you even do anything else…
