To be honest, we’ve been discussing that very rule for the last few days on here, so it’s not a surprise to us, even if signing Tarasenko specifically is. Let’s not pretend all the Championship clubs didn’t realise the rule is there. But now it’s been used, they might use their common sense to change the rule for next year.

The referee should then either warn or disqualify the rider. Happened at Glasgow recently, but I don’t remember who it was. Might have been a Poole rider but I can’t honestly remember. Doesn’t look like I noted it in my programme.

The referee is in sole control of the meeting. Take it up with him.

I think Tom should be relieved of the captaincy and given to Bomber instead. I think it would do Tom some good to only have to worry about his riding. Bomber’s a natural captain and he’s used to the pressure. Tom never quite looks at ease these days and I think having less on his plate will help him a bit.

I am confused. Is someone able to explain this please? I’d like to understand how this is meant to work (regardless of whether this is the issue or not).

One person has pointed out that because he’s got an assessed average of 5 in the Premiership, that would be converted to 7.5 for the Championship. If that’s the case, he wouldn’t fit - but have there been occasions where that’s not been followed? I don’t have the rulebook, so I don’t know if that applies mid-season or is between seasons.

But the signing doesn’t break that rule?

I don't think he does figure for this year at least. We don't change riders to mess around with averages normally. We are generally quite patient, and there's no one we want shot of. Lee has been better recently and he is a *very* popular rider with the fans.

In September, his wide line usually became the air fence.

My preference would be to cover until Polish playoffs are done, but they won't do that.

His GSA on the British Speedway site is 5.89. Seems there are a few competing figures. It's definitely more than 5 and less than 6!

Yes, I know. But it's not good for the league to have four teams as bad as they have been this year.

I really hope the league is more balanced next year. It feels like two divisions at times.
