Yes, hasn't worked for me on Android for weeks.

Borke is on 4.00 and Fredriksen is on 4.57. Borke's away average was 4.12, whereas Fredriksen's was 6.36. It's all very well saying Borke went great at Ashfield, but if we want to have a shot at retaining our title, we need to focus on away form. Borke was not a good away scorer. We don't want to be taking riders whose real average is below their actual average IMO. And for all that Bastian scored 8 at Ashfield in the Championship match, Lasse scored 9, including beating Marcin Nowak in heat 8. That didn't happen often. Lasse's under-rated, for me.

Can he be discounted any more though? Borke looked great at Ashfield, but not anywhere else. Lasse Fredriksen is a much better prospect if you’re looking at Edinburgh riders (albeit injury is a concern).

With next year’s points limit, Tom will be a great #5 for someone.
-
He's got the best rolling average compared to 2023 average in the league, apart from a couple of reserves who've ridden 1 or 2 meetings. I think his biggest issue is sponsorship.

Berik Riss?

Not sure why Dan would ride in the Championship, and Sunday afternoons will be a no-go too.

We really need some quality second half racing for those guys. But the question will be, who pays for it? So I don't see it happening. This is the kind of thing TV money should really be used for. Developing the product.

OK, I've read the regulations again. Here's my understanding: Any rider who appeared this season will be given an average which will be published after the AGM. A rider with an average in more than one league will keep the respective averages for those leagues - no conversion. A rider who has been absent for three or more seasons can get an amended average, seemingly at the whim of BSP LTD A rider who has been absent for more than one full season due to a speedway injury can get an amended average, again seemingly at the whim of BSP LTD. Nothing is mentioned about riders who didn't ride this year, but did in one of the previous two years, and weren't side-lined by a speedway injury. I'm not sure why a rider who missed a year through injury would be treated differently to one who missed the season for another reason. I'm also not sure what happens to someone who didn't appear this season or last season. They won't have an average from this year's AGM, but they won't qualify for an amended MA, so I suppose the implication is the published average from AGM 2022 or AGM 2021 would apply, but the rules don't actually say this.

What would Rew and Bellego's averages be? I can't find them anywhere.

This year, second string, yes. At 38 points, Connor might be a heat leader, but at the least, a strong second string. We've all got to adjust our expectations of who fits where. Half the heat leaders might be unemployed next year, and will come back in 2025 to replace the 2024 heat leaders, whose averages will increase so much they become unemployable.

He's expensive, but he's really reliable, has immense experience and can help the rest of the team and provide a composed figure in the pits - which we need. I think his off-bike value is gold for the rest of the team.
-
36 would mean big compromises. What I hear, which is third hand, seems to be working on an assumption of 38. But they could decide anything at the AGM.
-
I think Danyon Hume fits better average-wise, especially as I don't see us running a 2 or 3-pointer at reserve. I think Ace and Lee both come back.
-
I think your average is valid for three years. Check the averages section of the regs… think I saw something implied there when I was reading earlier.

I've heard a lot of people say Monday/midweek is very bad for them. It doesn't make much difference to me, but it does seem to be a big deal to a lot of people. I also have the issue with liking posts. It doesn't seem to work on Android, but is fine on my iPad. No idea why. It's been that way for a few weeks.

One of the things he said on the podcast is that if they went up, they could bring in riders like Tai Woffinden, but it wouldn't necessarily bring in more fans, because people don't know who he is. Only speedway fans know who he is, and most of them already come. But they are working on the training track over the winter, so they're continuing to develop the facilities, and I like their commitment to sensible and sustainable over the lure of a league that carries a lot of risk and not a lot of upside right now.

Peter Facenna was on the No Brakes No Fear podcast this week (with Bomber and Lee), and he confirmed the club is looking to stay in the Championship. They want to retain the Friday race night because it works well, and they're not convinced it would work commercially to go up to the Premiership. It's worth a listen: No Brakes, No Fear: The Official British Speedway Podcast – Sport Social Podcast Network (sport-social.co.uk)

Ace, Lee, Bomber. Ideally Claus, but even his average might be pushing it.
-
Simply can’t fit them in.
-
I’ve heard his average will be something like 8.60. I don’t remember the details of how or why, but I’ve been told he won’t be on a 5.
-
If it's 36, we are really talking about a different league. That's not the Championship as we've known it.
-
Given this is the Championship forum, I'll assume that league. Plus, I still don't think we will go up. I'd take: Bomber, Claus, Lee, Ace, Danyon. I think Ace is a given. Lee's been much better with better equipment. Bomber will be in demand but I hope he chooses to stay. Claus still has a great average. Danyon has a good average and was great away from home for us last year. Not sure what that comes to and what's left.
