Very much so!
-
Yeah, he's third on the official averages of those planning to return, and he belongs there. Still fabulous when things are going well. Joint third-highest scorer for Edinburgh this season even though he only appeared in 7 championship meetings.
-
I thought they'd leave Steve to last, but I guess it doesn't matter when we all seem to know the team!
-
I believe it would give a total of 37.93, so yes.
-
That's my set too. Feels like a team of two distinct halves.
-
I think I've worked it out. Bomber knows the guest appearances are going to dry up, so he's making sure he can get a tac sub ride every meeting to compensate.
-
Ah, I see. Yes, Dayle Wood and Paul Starke would complete the lineup nicely!
-
Rumoured to be Glasgow-bound. Very strong top four, but I think it could work very well.
-
Agreed - I think he’d be a great fit and on his average, he’s got to have a deal done somewhere, surely.
-
Yeah, of established riders, him and Vissing have the most favourable averages compared to their 2023 form.
-
I believe the only reason he wasn't retained was because he didn't make his mind up in time. If he had, I'm pretty sure they'd have had him back. I think being captain was the biggest barrier for Tom. Without that to focus on, and with a weakened league next year, he's set to improve noticeably. Just needs to be a bit more brutal in the big heats too.
-
What makes you say that about Lasse? Underwhelming home average? He's got a good away average and his GSA is 0.7 below his 2023 average.
-
Taking away bonus points, the averages are: 2021: 6.40 2022: 6.83 2023: 6.42 He spent time at reserve in 2021 though. He's got a decent average riding at 4, and I'm guessing he'll be riding at 3 next season, which is probably equivalent. I'd still rather have Claus back though.

They are motivated by more than just the Tigers winning trophies, although they got great satisfaction from that too. They want to bring homegrown talent to the sport, invest in young people, and they want to bring the biggest FIM events they can to Ashfield, because they want to give their best. I don't think they're interested in doing anything by halves. The biggest worry would be that we end up with no-one to race against. Hopefully the league will strengthen over the next few years, attract more sponsorship, and we can get to a place of more racing rather than less. One question that was asked to Lee Complin and SImon Lambert at the GTSG event last Friday was how riders would feel if British speedway moved towards individual events and away from team-based competition. I hope it doesn't come to that because if that happens, I think it's all over. I hope the question wasn't asked because people think that's the realistic direction of travel.

SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings
Noelinho replied to bloom89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think they will. Tom at 5, no? -
It's officially Lee. Don't die of shock.
-
It does give us something to talk about though!
-
Educated guess work. Pretty sure I saw Lee Complin is coming to the event, so it would be weird if he wasn’t announced as either coming back, or not coming back, at that event. It’s where Ben Basso was announced last season. Ace is the most obvious rider to come back, so I’d expect him to be announced first. Find out on Friday, or before…
-
I don't think it will be announced in November. GTGS event on 1 December is the obvious place to make an announcement. I suspect they will at least announce the reserves there. Less sure about the rest of the team.
-
I don't think so. I'm not expecting to see one at Glasgow.
-
Mainly because until it's done, we're stuck with making these jokes.
-
We quit because we knew the other two couldn't get it organised and didn't want to be part of a farce!
-
I’d suggest the bulk of the money at Glasgow goes on the facilities, not the riders. Riders might be set up well, e.g., with a little help when they sign, but points money is capped and the riders aren’t all awash with cash - some struggle, just like at other clubs. Anyway, since this is the Berwick thread, I like the signing of Kerr. Good to see his average hasn’t left him out in the cold.
-
I suspect it's the Bomber link, and possibly the Pijper link too.
-
Home advantage? You’re thinking of Glasgow. We win at home.
