Clegg shouldn’t even have been in the NDL, far too good for the current standard of the league.

Bullets new signing rode in the second half, another one on the comeback trail.

Nothing to do with the state of the track from the previous nights stock cars ? Club photos taken at 11am show a wet track but no safety fence erected for the speedway possibly suggesting it was a combination of the two, the state of track and the possibility of more rain.

British Youth Championship
Ringitsneck replied to eric i's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Which it was. They probably list it that way as the original concept was the riders on old Honda type 125cc engines but , speedway being speedway, riders sought quicker more expensive engines and some began using oversized 140 pit bike engines . They then said sealed engines only but that was openly flouted and now it’s a free for all and no engines get checked anyway. -
Great result and big performances from Mountain and Wethers which added to the expected score from Steve, not sure we can have him guesting every week but it would help! Disappointed to see a Berwick youngster named as our number 8 but understand our Gems stance on that issue. Track was dusty as our Trackman learns his trade but understandable, the lack of crowd was a worry as the rallying efforts didn’t work. Banning certain individuals hasn’t helped but it’s his club and he can do what he pleases. Not sure what the fund cash is being spent on but why put a limit on it ? If we are in such a desperate state then just keep it open surely ? Having said that , having to put the begging bowl out is a very worrying sign, the landlords clearly don’t want us there, the COVID rules and theirs are too restrictive and the on line ticket sales is putting our aged supporters off. I’ve been to 5 other clubs this season all of which have accepted cash on the gate, even by prior arrangement so the track n trace rules are complied with. Lets hope for in upturn in crowd levels at the next one .

He’s at Armadale that often he has his own parking space. -

If they get more than zero from Bates R/R then that makes them stronger the way his form has been. -

Redcar without Wright makes them a little weaker and struggling with their R/R . R/R for Bates makes the Lions a lot stronger so it’s a 8-10 point win the the home team. -
Makes perfect sense. Goldsbrough is local and probably won’t get a ride and is highly unlikely to qualify so no problem, or do you expect a rider to travel just to stand in the pits and not get a penny towards his travel and running costs ? Lyden also rode at Mildenhall so how is he more deserving ?

Rathbone V Godfrey being a prime example.

They get a token fee towards the running costs, the riders get minimum place money , not points money, they don’t even get a tyre supplied and if 300 plus turn up they should make a few pennies, just. The Redcar promotion have always supported the youngsters even if it costs the club a few bob. Pity other clubs don’t.

Big challenge for our new ‘Trackman’ ( as if he hasn’t got enough on his plate ) , let’s hope it ain’t as hot and the weather is kind to him . Looking forward to seeing Stevie back in the black n white as it’s a major task to use R/R with only one reserve really contributing to the scorecard despite Joe’s efforts on track. A tough test for our Gems but it will be a good measure of where there at against one of the stronger NDL sides.

Leicester vs Scunny KoC 2nd Leg 12/06/21

Do you spend a lot of pre match days watching track men water tracks ? Your comments suggest not! It’s a dark art and unless your involved in such activity the average fan has no comprehension on the difficulties involved in preparing a track to suit good racing, the fans and the weather. -
Redcar v Glasgow 13th June
Ringitsneck replied to Yearbyred's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Smith would have been keen to do well at his old club. Kemp rides Redcar really well but Flint rides it even better, can now only see a Tigers win. Bears are yet to get the best out of all 7 , now 6, riders , Wright is now back on song but MPT isn’t yet on top of his game. Think it’s a possible 4 pointer for the Tigers but just looking forward to seeing good racing, just hope I can get in the car park this time ! -
CVS has been around a long, long time, he knows how to play the press and apply pressure to benefit his club. Whilst he may be losing money currently, he’s made a sum over the years and it’s his choice to run , or not, with the pricey team he currently fields.

Whilst I do believe the current regime are failing to lead the sport in the right direction to say they want to turn it fully amateur is just completely wrong. I get that you have understandable issues with the top table but they are in it because they love the sport and hope to make a few Bob, but I doubt they do make much and so why kill the golden goose ? for want of a better term. I can foresee a crisis coming but perhaps that’s what we need so it can be rebuilt a new, hopefully !

Glasgow v Redcar 11/04/2021
Ringitsneck replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think this one will be comfortable for the Tigers whilst the Bears appeared strong on paper they haven’t produced the expected score lines and with Stewart missing, who rode well at Glasgow, that puts a lot of pressure on the two Bears reserves. Wright and Allen yet to find consistency and Tigers are on fire all through the team so a 10-14 point home win for me. -
‘ a little while ‘ ? is probably a big understatement, think your looking at out for the season unfortunately.
