I'm not so sure if Ostergaard has singed. I can easily see us going with two riders on 5+ averages at reserve. If Ostergaard has signed. 1. 8.68 2. Hans Andersen 5.79 3. Mikkel Bech Jensen 6.26 4. Chris Harris 6.00 5. Michael Palm Toft 6.30 6. Bradley Wilson-Dean 5.47 7. Ulrich Ostergaard 4.00 If He hasn't signed. 1. Rohan Tungate 6.59 2. Hans Andersen 5.79 3. Mikkel Bech Jensen 6.26 4. Chris Harris 6.00 5. Michael Palm Toft 6.30 6. (6.09) Scott Nicholls 5.50, Richard Lawson 5.78, David Bellego 5.80, Linus Sundstrom 6.04, Richie Worrall 5.22 7. Bradley Wilson-Dean 5.47 -
Could do. Doubt it though. Stoneman looks like a short term signing to me and when the first set of GSA's are released. He will be sacrificed for a stronger rider imo.
-
Because it's probably all part of a bigger plan. Once BWD's average drops Somerset can then strengthen the side considerably. Swindon are doing the same imo. Sign Anders Rowe and then sack him once Rasmus Jensen's average drops to get a stronger rider in. Rowe doesn't have a chance of increasing his average to 6. The league isn't won and lost during the early part of the season.....Somerset only have to qualify for the Play-Offs and then take it from there.
-
Very smart move. Well played Garry May and Debbie Hancock. After the first set of GSA's BWD's average will take a big hit and Somerset can get rid of Stoneman for someone on a average of 4+.
-
Phil The Ace is right. From the Swedish thread. Greg Hancock cannot commit to a Swedish club for 2020 due to family reasons. Therefore highly unlikely he can commit to Britain for the same reason.
-
Bradley Wilson-Dean or Michael Palm Toft imo.

Can pencil in Michael Palm Toft as well now. King's Lynn teaser is Thomas Jorgensen apparently so he along with Kerr are the second strings. Lambert, Cook and Riss as the Heat Leaders. -
Glasgow management going down a different route for a change. Going with a strong reserve all season long instead of the powerful top 5. Gamble but it's a gamble that might work out well. Everything hinges on Ulrich Ostergaard & Justin Sedgmen finally producing their best.

Anders Rowe will get sacked once Rasmus Jensen's average drops. How much do you want to bet on it? -
Kent Kings 2020?
TheMessiahOfTheBSF replied to blueherb777's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I just think it's a terrible move especially when other clubs are signing much better NL riders who have an average of 7.5 or above for 2.00 points or some just over 3.00 points -

If Rob Ledwith was a 2.00 then I wouldn't say anything because that's fair. But the BSPA have doubled what his average should have been based on something that happened 20 odd years ago. Kent should be paying for the present and fair average for Rob which should be 2.00 instead of paying for quite frankly a micky take average based on 20+ years ago. -

Terrible value for money so to speak. It's like paying £20 for a big mac and chips in McDonalds lol. 4.00 assessed average because he rode in the second tier twenty odd years ago is wrong imo. Forget about what happened 20 odd years ago for a second. The here and now is Kent are splashing out 4.00 points on a 5.93 NL rider who's got no chance of maintaining his average when there are much better options available out there. -

Solid 1-5 Proper No.1 backed up by two improving heat leaders in Heeps and Covatti followed by an experienced 2nd string in Starke and a young Brit who is improving with every year in Bacon. Gilkes young lad can mix it with the other two pointers. I just hope for Kent's sake they can get rid of Ledwith early in the season or before. Only that one rider away from a title challenging side. -

Get rid of Ledwith then Kent has a potential title challenging side. -
I was thinking BWD with Kennedy or MacDonald.
-
Nick Morris or someone wouldn't have been signed if Masters & Thorssell were the top two imo. I think CVS has pulled a rabbit out of the hat if he hasn't then serious questions should be asked. 1. Freddie Lindgren, Greg Hancock, Tai Woffinden or someone else returning to Britain or debuting. 2. Luke Becker 3. Rory Schlein 4. Nick Morris 5. Sam Masters or Jacob Thorssell 6. Ryan Douglas 7. Broc Nicol

I have no idea what the Kent management were thinking when they signed Ledwith on a 4.00. Ludicrous signing. -

Here is the full post. News that Dan Gilkes is back with us in 2020 for the SGBC campaign plus some important announcements (of, er, announcements to come!) from Len are in this latest PR which follows: DAN'S THE MAN FOR THE KINGS! Kent TouchTec Kings are revealing the riders to fill their three remaining team slots for their inaugural SGB Championship [SGBC] season in 2020 this weekend – with the first name being one very familiar and even more popular among the Central Park Speedway-going public, it’s the titanic teenager who was the find of the National League [NL] last campaign, Dan Gilkes, Having risen up from a starting average of 2.00 and not having ridden a single competitive senior match before the start of last season, the youngster from Northampton rose up to heat leader level with an average in the NL of 8.00 – a brilliant effort of quadrupling his starting figures. A delighted Gilkes, who certainly has a very mature head on his 17-year-old shoulders posted a video on his own social media platforms to declare, “I am delighted to say I will be stepping up to the SGB Championship with Kent in 2020! “My first season with the TouchTec Kings in the NL was incredible. The promotion, track staff and importantly the supporters made me feel so welcome and everyone was incredibly supportive of me. It will be a challenging year ahead with lots of learning. But one that with the continued support I am sure, it will be another fantastic opportunity for me and the team to progress together. “To learn from Scott Nicholls was something that does not come to you every day. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to learn, gain knowledge and experience from the seven-time British Champion and ex Grand Prix rider.” Co-promoter Len Silver spelt out the way the team building has been going, as he expressed delight at getting Gilkes’ signature for another year at Central Park, “Chris and I have been very busy over the last month or so, and in particular since the day we were officially accepted into the SGBC, in finding riders who wanted to ride for the TouchTec Kings. I can now reveal that we have agreements with all seven riders to wear the Touch-Tec body colours for 2020 and part of that successful and short series of negotiations is due to the help we received from our new No 1, Scott Nicholls, and I am very grateful for that." The veteran supremo went on, “The next signing for the 2020 season, I can tell you, is a very popular returnee from our NL side last season, Dan Gilkes, Dan is picked in what will be his first season at this higher level because of his huge potential. He is investing in a new engine and clutch and, interestingly, Scott has asked that Dan be placed next to him in the pits. That news was greeted with delight from the Gilkes family (and me!)." And tantalisingly he went on, “There are now two names still to be placed in the public arena which, with the individual agreements of the riders themselves, these two will be disclosed over this week-end. I am personally delighted at the seven who have chosen us. I hope all our loyal supporters are too.” Finally, Silver had further updates concerning the club’s plans for 2020, “The NL promoters’ meeting was adjourned without any final decisions being made earlier this week and there will be another meeting in December. However, if the numbers and format remain as being suggested (showing a probable seven teams), then Kent will be part of it. “On the team building front for the SGBC, Rob Ledwith has been allocated a 4.00-point average by the BSPA in consideration of his previous history at second tier level and that It is expected that Ledwith and Gilkes will fill the 6 & 7 positions.” -

It's true Len Silver confirmed Ledwith is a 4.00.
