Nigel was unavailable for last night's GP as he was due report on the West Ham v Chelsea game. Ironically he had to pull out of that due to illness and has been suffering for a couple of weeks now. Sky Sports will continue to use Tony Millard as Nigel is not always available because of his football work.

I don't know about freebies, but I can definately recomend the brilliant GP spreadsheet produce by KanDysoft. Only £6, covers all GPs and has loads of very useful features. Available from http://www.kandysoft.com -
Excellent piece on Reading and the End-of-an-Era stuff.

I thought that was superb. By the way, music was excellent all night. -
This book has today been made available to buy online. Please go to: http://www.readingspeedway.com/tearsandglory.html It will also be available to buy from the Reading Track Shop on racenights. Thanks for the complimentary copy on Saturday Arnie - much appreciated. Having had a further look through it this morning I have to say it's clear that a hell of a lot of work has gone into this project. A must buy for any Reading Speedway fan and to be honest, speedway supporters in general. Everything is in there, including a photograph of myself.

I've been trawling around some of the websites of the National newspaper's and see they are giving the new Grand Prix series some coverage. Excellent news I think to see the likes of the Mirror and The Sun taking more interest in speedway. However, they will only keep doing so if they see that many people view the pages…..so get clicking! And hopefully we they will start to take notice and cover speedway more regularly! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/more/2008/04...89520-20393504/ http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle1080173.ece http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle1080263.ece http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sp...randprixopener/ http://www.alchemyworx.com/skysports/ezine...king_point1.htm

Hopefully there are some people going to the Ice Speedway in Berlin this year. If so, hopefully someone can help me? Would anyone be interested in bringing something back for me from Pawel Ruszkiewicz. He's the Polish chap who sells all the Polish speedway merchandise. He's produced some of the small hand-painted model riders for us to sell in the Reading shop. They are ready for collection, but they need collecting from him in Berlin and bringing back from Poland. He will be there for the ice speedway. Can somebody possibly help in bringing them back and then posting to me in Reading? If so, can they please email me at andy.povey@readingspeedway.com We will of course cover any postage costs incured. Many thanks Andy

I recall Kevin Jolly signing for Reading during one winter from Ipswich. On the way home he changed his mind and ended up never actually riding for us.

I was reading the interview with Ole Olsen last night. Very interesting read. I was particuarly interest to read his views on rained off meetings in Britain.

Can't believe I missed this one - where can I get a copy of this book?
-
An excellent edition and a great interview with Erik. Gundersen is one of my favourite non Reading riders of all time. I must also say that his accident and subsequent injuries back in 1989 probably affected me more than any other rider I've seen injured during my time as a supporter. My enthusiasm for the sport was truly tested at the time. A great rider and by all accounts a top man as well. Well worth a read.
