  1. Not a Swindon fan, never managed to visit or know any of the people personally involved in Swindon, but I have followed Speedway for years, and read the threads on Swindon’s problems. What I can’t get my head round is how Terry Russell has been “done over” so seemingly easily. He comes across as a very smart businessman, astute, good negotiator of contracts etc. How has he had the rug pulled from under his feet like this. From an outsider looking in, it seems as though he has been well & truly sucked in & spat out during the last few years.
  2. Has anyone heard how Jason Edwards is after pulling out of the Mildenhall meetings on Sunday? Hope he’s ok for the Edinburgh meetings this week.
  3. Will be interesting to see what the Belle Vue/ British Final attendance will be, finally a Sunday afternoon meeting with the “top” British riders competing. It’s what a lot of fans have asked for.
  4. For all of us not on twitter, would it be possible to tell us what Edinburgh have announced, Please.
  5. Surely it’s got to be Allen at 2 and Aarnio at 3 as that is what Scunthorpe rode as on the 5th August v Redcar. Over to someone who knows the rules
  6. Sorry Boz, the ambulance was booed as it came around the first bend towards the tapes, lots of applause also though. First time I’ve ever heard it happen anywhere. Even said to the few standing with me about it, couldn’t believe it happened. I was stood on the little stand between bend 4 and the tapes, and yes I would testify to any court that it happened.
  7. Fingers crossed no injuries happen to Adam between now & Cardiff, but if any did then technically Charles Wright would be the wild card! Ellis first, Bewley second, Wright third in 2021. How bizarre would that be.
  8. Maybe Mr Godfrey is eventually proved right about Friday night race tracks as well. Not enough available guests for two Wednesday night regular teams racing on a Friday. Fingers burnt unfortunately for them both, sadly.
  9. And let’s not forget that mighty team that Redcar put out a few years back, 1rider, R/R & 5 guests I think it was. Someone with a better memory will correct me I’m sure
  10. Thank You, wasn’t sure as every different competition seems to have different rules
  11. Can tac subs be used in the Jubilee Trophy?
  12. It’s surprising where the crowds do come back from though. Middlesbrough/Redcar had 10 years missing and the crowds came back, went again, came back again etc. Fans will still be there if the product is right. Oxford another one, 15 years? And seem to be doing ok. Workington will probably be the next northern barometer to go by.
  13. And Redcar booked Stuart Robson testimonial for October 1st I think. That will be great if we don’t make the play offs
  14. But it is what it is, no one better out there to drop Adam on the average he is. Nobody expected Jason to improve like he has either. I’m afraid it’s a case of get on with it. Hopefully Adam will kick on in reserve and get some confidence back then score points. Mind we will be knackered if he doesn’t.
  15. Redcar is only 11 metres bigger, so surely it’s the shape not the size. Lol
  16. Thank you both for the replies. Strange rules at times.
  17. If Newcastle did own Adam Roynon he is obviously on loan to Redcar. How does the loan fee work, is it paid monthly or upfront ? If it’s monthly who gets it now. If it’s yearly has Rob Grant already had the money, blown it & is Adam clear to carry on riding for Redcar even though his “owner” has shut his business?
  18. Not calling our reserves at all, just pointing out that 2/3 riders most meetings have been “off”. When they all hit together a totally different result.
  19. Another question to anybody in the know. Is Adam physically fit or has the injuries finally caught up. I ask this as he seems to gate ok & in front for a couple of laps, then eventually gets caught & overtaken. Also noticed a few of his falls are later on in a race. Just wondering if his overall fitness is maybe lacking a bit.
  20. Carried 2/3 passengers most matches to be fair. If one reserve steps up the other generally has an off night, and Roynon & Andersen have both been up & down, mainly down in most meetings. Saying that there is not many available riders that I would swap for what we have. Roynon must be close to being reserve next month as well which will limit changes again.
  21. Hope Redcar aren’t thinking of making changes now that Newcastle’s riders will become available. Personally can’t see a great improvement on what we have to be honest.
  22. Fair enough, haven’t looked at Averages etc, just thought the nearer option would have been better, but obviously he wouldn’t fit
  23. Just wondering why everyone is wondering why Summers has gone to Oxford & not Newcastle, where in my eyes why hasn’t he gone to Berwick? On the doorstep and both promoted by the person. If it’s all money related then Oxford are paying more than Berwick & Newcastle
  24. Kasper Andersen in as a guest. Not sure who for though, Wethers or Starke. Was announced at Redcar last night.
