Berwick v Redcar 11/05/24 Championship

I would expect it to be just as close as last night also. The way Dan is going this season he should be an upgrade on Jonas. -

Is the stream ok? No real volume and picture breakup for me. Seems ok from old scunny match race. -
Berwick v Scunthorpe KO Cup 1/4 Final 1st Leg 27/04

Good to see Lewis Kerr making good progress with his injury (on his Facebook page). -
Never thought of it that way. Lose Jason from heat 11 but gain him in heat 14. Would then have Emil or Jason in every heat from 10-14 and then the pair in 15.
-
Maybe to try and counter Sam Masters at 3? Could be 10 Jason 11 Jason and Emil 12 Jason 13 Emil 15 Jason and Emil with no ts used.

Freddie needs his 3rd race. Just what I was on about with Rory. -

Crazy decision not giving Freddie his third race there instead of Rory of 15m. -
See Freddie fell in Poland also. Polish not to good so not sure if he is ok.
-
I questioned the decision myself and the supporters near me said it was probably to do with where he was (interfered with where the flag marshal should be). Could put people in danger so always err on the side of caution. I see on the Berwick report he was fined by the referee but not sure if his broken chain was locking up his back wheel and he was trying to release it? On another point it was good to see less gardening at the gate with the clock (could see it took less time than other seasons for the riders to be ready). Speaking to a supporter in the stand after the meeting he said there was always time on the clock when the race started so probably 10-15 minutes saved there. Only complaint from me was the back straight stand lights not working so moved to the exit of the second bend. Does anyone know how far back the starting gate been moved?

Are you there assisting with the work as you stay close by? A mate who had been at the football did say that part of the fence was down. Good to see modifications being made by the promotion. Probably not just Berwick would like crowds like that.

I agree about facilities being allowed but the floodgates opened last year when Charles Wright and Connor Bailey were allowed a facility (at least he has been signed at the start of the season).
-
Think he got 4 points according to speedway updates. Meeting not completed yet.
-
Not his points scoring that's a problem for me (although that's important), it's how he tries, even when last racing for Sheffield and Belle Vue but gives up when racing for Berwick.

I was at Edinburgh v Oxford this year. That's not very regionalised.
-
If I was Dan and Ipswich wanted me, it wouldn't have been a difficult decision (as you mention). Leicester dropped him last year so the same thing could have happened next year. I would also take racing with two of the top riders in the league as you are going to learn from them.

SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings

Did I not watch Ben cook top scoring in the CRC at Redcar? -
Oxford weren't in the NDL KOC this year (Belle Vue, Berwick and Edinburgh also) so obviously teams have a choice.
-
Sure that is what it was when I first started going (could be wrong as I was quite young). You started the season (if you wanted to) with one 8 point rider and if someone else in the team became an 8 point rider then you could choose who was at number 1.
-
Wouldn't mind if they changed the rule about having the highest average rider at number 1. Could be that any rider with an 8 point average can race at number 1. It possibly made Ipswich and Belle Vue slightly weaker when the teams changed (Jason better at 1 than at 5 and better round Ipswich than Emil). If you don't have any riders above 8 then the highest average rider races at number 1.

How many rides did Robert Lambert have at home (thought he only raced 2 home matches so wouldn't get 8 rides a meeting.
