You mean Kai Ward. Would have thought both Ben Trigger and Kai Ward would be nailed on for their local club, which takes two riders away from Leicester's bottom end.

Confirmed Signings for 2022

Need to add Mildenhall Sam Bebee 5.16 Elliot Kelly 4.19 -
Think you're a long way out with your assessment there. Both Jack's are proven wasted talents?? Not even close. Whilst Jack Smith has rarely been given a proper crack at Championship level, he's an out-and-out No.1 at NDL. Barely dropped a point at the NSS last year. He will again be one of the NDL's top stars. Parkinson-Blackburn was also a near 9-point man until his 2 years out injured. He looked decent on his comeback last season and should push on now. Could be fighting Smith for No.1 McGurk, McGurk, Ablitt and Freeman all started last year on 3.00 and made solid progress. "Time to deliver" seems an odd comment for Freeman. He's only had half a year at NDL after Newcastle closed and he went to Armadale mid-season. Though you obviously rate Ablitt as you reckon he'll get up to "at or near No.1". Looks a good team to me with a solid top 5, but we wait to see what others come up with.

Not sure what they'll be called yet. Possibly "Sittingbourne". I'm not sure, but I think when Len Silver opened his Central Park operation he used the name "Kent" because the Iwade operation already had rights to the name "Sittingbourne". Whatever they're called, it's just good to at least see some speedway continuing in the area.

Kent is gone completely. But there seems to be every reason to be optimistic that a new promotion at Iwade will be joining the NDL, so there will still be speedway just a couple of miles away

NDL 2022 - AGM & League composition
PotteringAround replied to PotteringAround's topic in National League Speedway
So the latest BSPL update statement says full news next week of the expanded NDL. Presume that means the AGM is next Tuesday? Expanded NDL would suggest that Armadale, Belle Vue, Berwick, Leicester and Mildenhall are back. Iwade are replacing Kent. Plus some more new teams. Oxford? Northside? others? Sounds good. 8 teams would be good. Enough for Mildenhall and Iwade, without making too many fixtures for all those who also run a senior team. -
I reckon the Aces team is long since sorted. I'd guess they're just waiting on a paperwork rubber-stamp issue. Maybe a visa application or an average reduction/reassessment for a rider who has been out of Britain a year or two, to be clarified at today's AGM.

Think you missed the poultry-chicken feed joke.

He said a "poultry" £330k. So i guess he thinks it's chicken feed.

NDL 2022 - AGM & League composition
PotteringAround replied to PotteringAround's topic in National League Speedway
It sounds like the IOW promotion are happy with their programme of events outside the NDL, so I'll move them from my "possible" category down to "uklikely". More worrying is the news that the vandals are reported to have visited Northside again and done some damage. Let's hope it's not too big a setback, and doesn't disrupt their plans for NDL So do we think the 2022 NDL will be:- Armadale, Belle Vue, Berwick, Iwade, Leicester, Mildenhall, Oxford and (fingers crossed) Workington? -
Do we know yet when the NDL AGM is (If there is one)? Rumours seem to suggest an enlarged league this year. All the indications seem to be that Armadale, Belle Vue, Berwick, Leicester and Mildenhall will all be back, with only Kent going by the wayside. But the loss of Kent may somewhat be compensated by the inclusion of Iwade. Workington/Northside seem to be making progress and would be a good inclusion. Oxford apparently want to join, but would CL and NL at both Berwick and Oxford be spreading Jamie Courtney a bit thin? Buxton sadly seems to have no new potential promoters interested in taking on the Hitmen. Isle of Wight put the good P.R. spin on their 2021 open meetings, but in reality, they were a bit rubbish. Could they be looking for a way back to league racing? Would the BSPL have them back? Eastbourne seems to be a no go until 2023. Plymouth are probably happy concentrating on running CL to a sensible budget and probably wouldn't fancy a NDL with a heavy Northern schedule (Edinburgh, Berwick, Workington, Belle Vue, Leicester). I'd say CERTAIN: Armadale, Belle Vue, Berwick, Leicester, Mildenhall. LIKELY: Iwade, Oxford, Workington. POSSIBLE: Isle of Wight. UNLIKELY: Buxton, Plymouth The points limit naturally rose during the season to around 42, as it does, with riders now on inflated averages. I'd say It will have to be cut again, but hopefully not as drastic as last year's 35. Maybe somewhere in the 37-40 region? Any thoughts?

How many times do you need telling? This thread is about efforts to bring back Rye House which began in 2020, and which are still ongoing. Hence the thread is still ongoing. It's not a difficult concept to understand.

Peterborough Panthers 2022
PotteringAround replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I read it as Bassoon and just assumed he'd misspelt Buffoon. -
And he doesn't answer the question that, if he wanted to know who the most recent death recorded on the website is, why didn't he just click on the website link and have a look?

You literally quoted a link to the website in your post. Why don't you just click on it and have a look? If you did, you'd see that Danny Ayres has been added. And before you make any crass comments, I'd point out that Danny was a good friend of many on this website. Myself included.

You're a fan of Norick Blodorn then?

Peterborough forgot to name the No.8? Basso has good potential, but the reality is that Basso for Pedersen is a weakening, while the other 5 teams will be stronger than last year. -

Number 8 for each team and Junior League
PotteringAround replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ah. So, in your strange world, Tai Woffinden played no part in Great Britain's Speedway of Nations win? After all, Woffinden didn't ride in the semi-final and final races, and since GB finished 15 points ahead of Australia, his 14 points were completely unnecessary. -

PotteringAround replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't be ridiculous. He had no part in the semi-final race and final race, but he scored 7 out of 8 points in his heats to help GB qualify for the semi-final race. By your reckoning Bobby Charlton played no part in the 1966 World Cup Finals because it was Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters who scored the goals in the final! -

The No.8 is a second rising star. That's the whole idea. No one has suggested using "a young wobbler" -

And then Kai Ward would have played his part. But Kai Ward didn't ride, Tom Brennan did. So Tom brennan played his part. I don't see the problem. As long as the rules were known at the start of the season, what's the problem? A team planning on a super-strong No.6 would know the risk they were taking if he got injured. It would be up to each team to assess the risk and decide if they want to go down that route. Of course it would be possible. The rule would say "facility for a missing reserve/rising star = No.8 only -

It can only be a positive. It was ridiculous last year that Sheffield could lose their Rising Star early in the season and then get an advantage by being able to handpick a No.7 guest for every match on a horses for courses basis. At least Wolves redeclared a new Rising Star. As well as having a No.8 to replace a missing RS rider, I'd like to also extend the rule so that the No.8 also has to be used if the No.6 is missing. Shoudl be no guests at reserve.
