Who even holds the promoting rights to Mildenhall? Isn't it Lee Chipchase and Greg Palmer? Because we're hearing nothing from them. The main character in all this seems to be someone with a dubious past who presumably would never get any kind of official's licence from the BSP.

If you wanted to run Swindon in the NDL, and you owned a perfectly functional, equipped stadium, like the Abbey Stadium, why would you not already be running it there? Would you really invest in building a new stadium just to run at the amateur level? That's not going to give a satisfactory return on investment.

You only have to read Clarke Osborne's profile on that joke of a website to know the man is a compulsive liar.
-
You've not come across Clarke Osborne before, have you?
-
Sounds almost as good as the Reading "Racino" and the "Greatest Speedway Stadium of the modern era at Bristol"* * copyright Clark Osborne Of course, once the Abbey Stadium is finally demolished, it will be discovered that this new site is the home of a rare species of squirrel which can't be disturbed, and sadly the new stadium can't be built..

Bit strange that Armadale are so slow naming their team. All the other 5 teams are fully named, and so are the 5 Trophy teams, so there's nothing to gain by keeping things secret. All they're doing is denying their riders the chance to get out there and say "Will you sponsor me, I'll be riding for Armadale"
-
Surely he'd prefer 'king Kenny Bjerre as the final rider?
-
Is it? I hadn't heard anything about Mildenhall being sold.

Arise, Sir Chris Harris

I believe there have been proposals to name the stand after Mort, but it was Mort himself, being a modest man, who refused it. -

Chris Morton also an MBE. Promoters Johnnie Hoskins and Ronnie Greene also honoured. Ivan Mauger is the only rider to also receive an OBE. -
But the press release DOES clearly say Poole were invited and they accepted. So to then back out 2 months later is poor form from Poole. “It’s good to have all the teams in the KO Cup, including Oxford this time, and we felt it would be great to have eight clubs competing with no byes, so Poole were invited in as Championship champions, and they accepted. “They will be given a concession to build to Premiership level whilst keeping the majority of their team, and should there be any rider clash, the Premiership team would take priority.”

Thought he'd be nailed on.

And Luke Muff and Harrison Rodgers.

All 5 fellow NDL sides have named their full team, but still not a single rider announced for Armadale. No one in the Monarchs Championship side is available to double up with the Academy, but presumably Dayle Wood who is with nearby Berwick will want to continue at Armadale? Connor Coles has no CL place and isn't in a ND Trophy side yet. Will he want to travel to Edinburgh for just NDL? Sam McGurk was rumoured to want away from Armadale. Expected him to appear at Middlesbrough/Belle Vue/Scuntfield, but he hasn't. He's doing trophy at Birmingham, so presumably he'll want NDL at Armadale. A few NDL riders from last year not signed up in NDL, but not many northern. Best (ageing) Armadale side I can make is: Connor Coles, Dayle Wood, Sam McGurk, Luke Crang, Kean Dicken, Kyran Lyden, Mark Parker.

Think the team is pretty much run by Godfrey and Simon Lambert from Scunthorpe. Sheffield don't seem to have much input other than using the track for a few of the home matches.

35. Just one team less.

It's a football nickname (coined by Brian Clough I think) for a player who goes to pieces in the box. Doesn't really work in speedway as no one is "in the box" to make the joke work.

Middlesbrough Tigers 2025
PotteringAround replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in National League Speedway
I don't think they'd waste money trying to win a tin pot 3rd division title for no gain. That would be pointless. I do think they'd invest in trying to find new young British assets like Dan Bewley. That makes business sense. -
Tai Woffinden - Community Service?

According to the Belle Vue fans, Woffy is a bit of a polisher. -
Harry. Apparently Everybody's Talking.

Middlesbrough Tigers 2025
PotteringAround replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in National League Speedway
Can't really think of a team less "win at all costs" than Belle Vue. They seems to bring in a young 3 point newcomer every year. The only time they won the league was when the upcoming youngster was Dan Bewley. -
I must have missed Bewley Flat-earthing, "can-pushing", and denying the moon landings. All I've seen on his socials is mountain-biking in Wales, eating goats milk yoghurt for breakfast, and riding (and blowing up) an upright Godden.
