Yeah, and all sides are built to the same rules and limits, so what's the worry?
-
Not necessarily! Now if only the play-off qualification could be extended to, say, 6 places …
-
or the "true fans" you speak of could mobilise themselves right now (social media makes it pretty easy) and pledge £x thousand to encourage a positive outcome.
-
within the same limitations as every other club though, depends how you measure "higher caliber" too

Much more likely his brother will make a return to the wild east, some easy pickings to make up for his loss of earnings this year

Wouldn't disagree with that assessment tbf. Also seemed to rely on his gating a bit too much for my liking, all that said though he exceeded my expectations this season and played a strong part in the season long success. Certainly still on the up and a good future ahead of him.

Probably the same Eastern snowflake brigade who still haven't forgiven Glasgow fans for not fully supporting the Scottish Monarchs in 1996!

We hardly benefit from the current local derbies, no big loss in my opinion!

Championship Grand Final 2019

Enjoyed my first visit to BP, nice set-up although the approach/parking set-up is a bit odd. Speaking to some Lions fans afterwards, in reply to being asked about the generally poor quality of racing, they suggested that the track had clearly been prepped to gain a home advantage - unsurprising perhaps. Definitely wanted to get a few points more than we did, hopefully lady luck will level things out for Tigers come Tuesday night though. Leicester have a terrific away record this season and that alone must suggest they will push 40pts on Tuesday night, a 12 point lead makes them firm favourites in my book. The tie is very finely balanced though, and Glasgow absolutely can turn the tables … heats 12-15 on Tuesday could be sensationally tense! -

You might want to rethink and perhaps even delete that comment, unless of course you feel that mental health is something to laugh about? -

2 key Tigers in lesser league winning action tonight <insert 'fingers crossed' emoji!!> -
No one has even identified creating that sense of value for money / good entertainment in attracting better crowds. Your Stoney / Masters / Cook types are the 'superstar' figures within a side, they grab the headlines and the main attention for winning so often, and they too often provide some of the greater level of excitement by, occasionally at least, having to work their way to the front (Glasgow have used some of Cook's exploits this season for marketing purposes on social media). The critical point I'm looking to make though is to stand a much improved chance of attracting new/lapsed fans to pay a visit and return, the overall 'production' has to be up to scratch - and that's a combination of facilities, track prep and the peripheral entertainment (music, atmosphere created, communication, events etc.)

To be fair, you did identify 7 (of 11 in total) sides who could be play-off contenders - hardly Derren Brown!

Redcar v Leicester Semi final
GlasVegas replied to johnyson66's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With respect, that double header (or at least one half of it) should have been pushed back to allow the higher priority (sorry, but it is the case) Championship play-off to take place; alternatively why couldn't one or the other be staged mid week (I'm sure Leicester have staged a few mid week meetings this season) just as Glasgow had to last night? -

Have to disagree Lenny, so there was no possibility of, as example, a double header? No disrespect intended to the NL team, but in priority terms surely the Championship play-off has to take priority. -

Ridiculous! Where's the sense of prioritisation over any other planned fixture? - probably all simply to allow Scottie to show off another shirt this Saturday night! -
Glasgow v Somerset, play off 1st leg 27/9/19 @19-30
GlasVegas replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Last night's meeting just got better and better, some immense (and tense) racing to savour. Feel a little sorry for the Rebels reserves who seem to have been dismissed entirely when, in my view, they were certainly in the thick of the action last night - yes, just 1 point amassed between them in the end, but the effort was there (Connor only scored 3 and look at the effort he put in). Anyway, a 12 point advantage is more than I'd hoped for/expected, fingers crossed we can hang on to that tonight - this season's efforts certainly deserve one last hurrah before the long close season. -

Glasgow vs Newcastle SGB Championship (7pm)
GlasVegas replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Much more encouraging signs right through the home side last night - special mentions though to MBA, SJ and CB for their very gritty performances. Certainly need more of the same (without the rainfall!) for Saturday's extravaganza of speedway - should be much like last Saturday but with better/closer racing -

It is also entirely reasonable to believe that Cook (and other riders still on track) were heading back to the pits (why else be riding so slowly in that direction) - so why the need for an over zealous marshall to go to such lengths of stupidity?
