  1. Given yous a taste of how the rest of us are being messed about by the head mafia boss haha
  2. Connor hopefully won't be back now, or else him or Matty will have to be the number 5 again... Archie I would like to see back at number 7, along side a solid number 6, Ashley Morris on a 4.80 average could be a bargain number 6 if the 2x RS rule gets scrapped and he can regain his form he had when he rode for the Diamonds a few years ago... Also wouldn't mind seeing James Sarjeant (4.27) or Stefan Nielsen (4.79) fill that number 6 role, But I can see both of them remaining at their currently CL clubs... I'm sure all 3 riders would be due a 2.5% reduction also as all 3 rode in the NL? So basically 6. Ashley Morris 7. Archie Freeman I suppose if the RS scheme is scrapped, then we could fit Connor at reserve, but we'd then lose a bit of the top end strength at 1 and 5... And I can see Connor at Leicester or Scunthorpe unfortunately Is Scott Nicholls going to give up his TV duties most weekends just to ride for the Diamonds? I'd love to see him too, he's one of my all time favourites, but I don't see it. I would like to see Paul Starke back in Diamonds colours again one day though... Richie would be a brilliant signing and my choice as the number 5 As far as I know with Troy, he was about to sign for us but then Kent came in at the last second and offered him a better deal. Personally I wouldn't want Troy at Newcastle... Think he could do even worse than last season if he signs for a track as difficult as Brough... He hasn't got the balls imo Based on absolutely zero insider information, so it could be miles off, I hope to see something like: 1. 2. Max Clegg 5.40 3. James Wright 5.20 4. Matthew Wethers 6.47 5. Richie Worrall 7.96 6. Ashley Morris 4.80 7. Archie Freeman 2* (2.00) Based on the current averages on the last issue on SpeedwayGB, so could be a few inaccuracies and there is no 2.5% reductions taken into account. We don't know what the average limit is yet, but I would approximate that we have somewhere in the figure of 8.00-8.50 for out number 1 with the squad above... I would like to see Matty at number 4 to keep Heat 14 strong and I think James is more than capable of being the number 3 in a stronger lineup than last year, Max at 2 is very strong and hopefully Ashley at 6 is very strong too. I would like to see some improvement from Archie next season too, should be very little pressure on him in that team... On another note, see Rene Bach has signed for Lokomotiv Daugavpils in Poland, so there's even less chance of him signing for Newcastle now One day we'll see Rene Bach at Newcastle But he's 31 now...
  3. What's going on at Vetlanda? Lejonen look very strong A shame that some of these big riders don't come to the uk... A lot of them complain about Sweden too, so what's the difference lol
  4. Any ideas on our 2 rising stars then? Just general discussion Hard to think of who our senior rising star will be tbh...
  5. Alright we get it, you don't like Adam Ellis...
  6. I would be happy to see Adam and Ben at Plymouth, think that track suits both of them perfectly and Plymouth have a brilliant little set up down there... One of my favourite clubs. Adam is one of my favourite riders also, loved watching him this year, been a pleasure.
  7. Yes, I know... Which is why I said if we CAN fit them in, as in the new team building points allow it without it being woefully weak again. Who knows, maybe they'll scrap the rising star program or maybe they'll increase the riders who are allowed to be rising stars etc. Maybe the CL will be allowed to use rising stars adding up to 6. Archie 2* and Connor 4* it's all speculation at this point. Will be very interesting to see what happens Hope they don't kick the dying sport while it's down again... Matty, Max and James take up 17.07 points (assuming these averages are final averages like I've been lead to believe they are) so say the team is built with a top 5 equalling up to 35 (which is a fair figure, if we're expecting a league similar strength to this year) then that would leave 17.93 for the final 2 riders. Meaning the final 2 main body riders could be a certain set of twins ...Now I don't particularly want either of them back myself... But I would be delighted if the DID come back. I would prefer to see some new faces however. The main piece of the puzzle that's left imo is who are we going to tempt in to be the reserve along side Archie. Kyle Bickley would be a good option, but could be prize him away from Berwick or any other team who is interested in him. Time will tell.
  8. 1. 2. Max Clegg 3. James Wright 4. Matthew Wethers 5. 6. 7. Archie Freeman Fill in the gaps. I hope that's it for this years team though, unless we can get Connor or Adam at number 6 or 2 and Max/James at 6 (Don't remember the averages off the top of my head). I'd love to see two big hitters and a solid, experienced reserve to round that team off and I'll be very satisfied. I hope they keep Matty at number 4 to strengthen heat 14, as we need a strong end to the meeting, that's what we've been missing for years. James is also more than capable of being a solid enough number 3, especially in a decent team. Really excited for next year now that the 2 main riders I wanted to come back (Max and Matty) HAVE come back James is a brilliant addition also. Roll on the end of March
  9. I think it'll be more like our 2, 3 and 4 sorted... Matty is NOT a second string... I am DELIGHTED he is back... Didn't think we'd see him back on a bike ever again tbh... I dunno why, I just got that feeling... I didn't realise his injury was as bad as it was...
  10. Have ya just let slip our third signing of 2022?
  11. British speedway desperately needs to get the likes of Thorsell, Lindgren, Zagar, Doyle, Milik back into the country... These are the types of riders the top league should have. Realistically we aren't gonna get Zmarzlik or Sayfutdinovs of the world... But a top league full of the names previously mentioned, would be really nice to see... Fricke, Lambert, Woffinden, Lebedevs... All these big names who are no more in this country... It's very sad to see.
  12. Possibly is... I dont understand how all these Visas work. The sooner we reunite pangea the better I think...
  13. Is this the same for all countries? Top 4 in the championships... I've heard that rule a few times now, but I'm not sure if it's always referring to Australia It would be stupid though, because someone who finishes 5th in the Australian Championship is surely better than someone who finishes 4th in the Italian championship for example, but the Italian bloke is allowed a visa and the Aussie not? Hope that's not the case...
  14. With my past experiences with the Glasgow streams, I don't think I'll bother. £14.99 is a joke too.
  15. Is that a... Rew boy? He's far too good for the CL surely? And he's tied up in Polska, Denmark and (Sweden I think?) as far as I know?
  16. Apart from the fact he didn't want to ride for us for most the season and his bikes broke down more than made it... but yes he did have his entertaining moments... but I'd much rather have someone like Paul Starke or Matty Wethers on a much smaller average... or Rene Bach on a similar one
  17. Me too, he's the one rider from last season we HAD to get back...
  18. Over the moon wasn't convinced he'd want to be back tbh James and max will do as the second strings for sure... need to see what the average limit is now and then we can focus on some proper heat leaders
  19. Does it come in on a 4.00 or a 5.00? Could be quite a bargain if you ask me...
  20. Any other club puts a line-up that weak out, there'd be a meeting and potential fine soon after... Scunthorpe do it, I bet there's nowt...
  21. I love watching Josh Pickering and Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen was the same also, only on a 6.34 average too, if we can prise him away from Berwick There's 2 riders I'd pay to watch on their own... Josh Pickering and Nico Covatti... Hope we see the latter back in British speedway next season
  22. Goes to show that Brough DOES produce good racing, and I don't understand why it gets so much hate...
