  1. I am aware of that. But we had him last season, which is why I'm gutted we didn't resign him. One of the few highlights of the whole season was watching Connor. Brilliant racer
  2. How would an even poorer scunthorpe team than last year beat a much stronger newcastle team than last year when they couldnt even manage it last year?
  3. Does Nathan Stoneman still ride? Thought he was going to be a decent rider at one point, but seemed to disappear... He rode for Oxford a few times in that last couple of years, which is why I ask
  4. Wonder if a Josh MacDonald/Dillon Ruml and Jake Mulford/Nathan Ablitt combination would fit as the reserves. 1. Troy Batchelor 2. Jack Thomas 3. Kyle Newman 4. Cameron Heeps 5. Scott Nicholls 6. Josh MacDonald/Dillon Ruml 7. Jake Mulford/Nathan Ablitt Not a bad team tbf, but I don't see them winning much either
  5. Connor Mountain was brilliant for us up at Newcastle and I was gutted when he didn't sign for us. He held his own as a third heatleader when really, he shouldn't have been in that position to start with. I am really jealous that yous have signed him. Connor will easily hold his own at number 4 imo. Or even number 3 1. Nick Morris 2. Dan Thompson 3. Connor Mountain 4. Kyle Howarth 5. Richie Worrall 6. Joe Thompson 7. Anders Rowe WHAT A TEAM!! Always gonna have one amazing reserve (two tbh if Joe kicks on also) and 3 brilliant heatleaders. I would put Kyle at 4 to strengthen heat 14, so there's a strong end to the meeting. And as I say, Connor should hold his own at number 3 imo
  6. THJ, please don't let the fools on this forum annoy you. You done wonders for our club in the many years you were involved and for that, 99% of us are eternally grateful, I am gutted that you are not as involved now but you have moved on. And I want to wish you all the very best in whatever you have lined up over in Cumbria. It's our loss and their gain. Cheers, don't make yourself a strange on here or at Brough Park, please?
  7. 1 Nathan Ablitt 6.77 2 Jack Smith 6.50 3 Harry McGurk 6.61 4 Sam McGurk 5.92 5 Jack Parkinson Blackburn 6.15 6 Archie Freeman 3.00 7 Freddie Hodder 3.00 37.95 2.05 Seems like Belle Vue built to a 38 point limit? Wonder if they knew the rules before handing out all their promises of contracts? Or if I've got the averages wrong? Either way, they could have had Paul Bowen rather than Freddy Hodder at reserve? Seems a strange choice not to go for the Pieman. Seems a fans favourite there too, and would had added that little bit of experience to a very inexperienced team... I only say this because the last time I saw Freddy ride, it seemed like the NL was gonna be a BIG step up for him... It's almost like he needs a season in a MDL type league first... Very brave
  8. This will only be Archie's second full season on a 500? To say it's 'time for him to deliver' when he did very well for his first season in 2021 is a bit harsh?
  9. Sorry to start 2 threads in one day but can anyone help me with the race nights for all the NL clubs. Armadale - Friday after Edinburgh meetings? Belle Vue - ??? Berwick - Saturday after Bandits meetings? Iwade - Weekend? Leicester - Saturday after Lions meetings Mildenhall - Sunday still? Oxford - Alternative Tuesday around Cheetah's fixtures? Plymouth - Alternative Wednesdays around Gladiator's fixtures?
  10. What day of the week are Iwade likely to race? Weekend? So Saturday or Sunday?
  11. Thought I'd get this thread going as the National League section is always rather quiet https://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.39902 Brilliant to see 8 clubs riding in the NL next season, really excited to see how Plymouth get on. Any predictions in team building for any of the clubs? Massive step forward
  12. Are Bradley Wilson Dean, George Congreve and Matty Wethers not foreign like? I dont understand how it works...
  13. I imagine that Kyle and Cameron will be the 3 and 4? NBJ isn't doing uk this year supposedly... Or else I'd be begging for him at Newcastle
  14. NBJ has been talked about multiple times, supposedly he's not riding next year? Or else he is the obvious choice... Although he'd be at Berwick... My point was if it was a choice between Josh Bates and Ty Proctor is that I'd choose Josh, but yes... Absolutely no thanks if we can avoid it...
  15. I mean if we HAD to get one of either Josh Bates or Ty Proctor, I'd choose Josh because at least hes spectacular. But still I'd rather not, I just dont trust him... He'd have to go at number 2 really.
  16. There's no one left to sign then!! There must either be a rabbit out the hat, an unheard of or 3 points under the limit...
  17. He could have said he's building a financially viable team though, which is a better way of saying a team for the bottom of the table...
  18. That's a shame Any particular reason? Or just personal ones that's no one's business...
  19. So he was I think my memory is mixing us and Edinburgh around come to think of it. They were going to have two new riders one being 4.00 and one being 5.00. I think that's where I'm thinking about... We must have both been 5.00 Either way, Nick fits and I think would make a brilliant number 4, partner him with the Ironman Two riders our final signing won't be now is Ashley Morris (signed for Birmingham) and Kyle Newman (Pretty much signed for Birmingham). There's barely anyone left on a sensible average!! Are we going to be 3 points under again? Or am I missing someone obvious...This final rider makes or breaks our team imo, so I am so keen to find out who he is I just hope it's an average above James' Just looking at the averages from last year again... Sam Jensen or Paco Castagna look like the best of what's left to me... Dunno much about Sam tbh, but Paco would be nice, not sure how he rides around Brough tbh? But he's a very entertaining rider. Not the strongest of signings though, but still... An entertainer, especially if he swapped with James and went to reserve.
