  1. When there was a crowd of people looking at the track just before it was called off, you could see people digging at the track. The massive rut would have been there, but covered and filled with dirt, you can see on the picture where it has been dug out from under the dirt. Again, I am not suggesting that the track was in an acceptable state, but the picture will have greatly exaggerated just how bad it was... Bad, but not THAT bad... Either way I'm glad it was cancelled and the club is getting a public humiliation at the minute, one of these days Rob will open his eyes and do something about the track.....
  2. What was the reason he let him go again? I forget... Honestly I thought the track was the smoothest it's been all year last night, but then again I get the best view of the 3rd/4th bend, which looked very smooth. The picture that's circulating is NOT acceptable, however it looks as if it was dug out by whoever took the photo first, which will have exaggerated it much worse than it really was. Please Rob, sort this club out, you came in at the final hour to save us, but why? If this is how you're going to run the show, I'd rather be remembered for who the club was before, not the sh*tshow it's turning into now. It's a massive shame when we've got the backbone of a cracking team already, with a decent number 1 and a reserve who could actually score a point, we'd be a cracking, hard charging team full of proper racers... But these issues with the track are getting embarrassing now... I understand how little time we get, but we've got all day Sunday next week now to get it fixed, or else I fear it could be the end for the club... Also, Jye Etheridge, what a knob... Gone way down in my expectations... Also also, why are Glasgow blaming the track for Tom Brennan's hand injury when the crash he was involved in was first bend bunching, and a rather awkward looking fall, that could have happened on any track big or small, rough or smooth...? They love to hear themselves Glasgow like... They used to be one of my favourite clubs until all the idiots took over
  3. Personally I don't mind a bit of the old drama, but if my kids were there I wouldn't have been very happy about it... And I'm sure any of the new kids who got in for free's families won't have been impressed either if it was their first time there... I've been to thousands of Ice Hockey games, from the late 90s onwards so I know what a good brawl looks like, and I love it... But there's no place for that in the pits (and crowd) at a speedway meeting while there are children about, sorry that's just my opinion So why did he let his other son out in the 125 race then? If the track was so dangerous. If I'm not mistaken that was Stene? Rob has not been perfect, I agree and he deserves his fair share of criticism... But not publicly in front of children and their families... Anyway, there was nothing wrong with Paul's silencer in the end Just clutching at straws I think...
  4. Yes I agree, the track was rougher than usual and it's already a very difficult track to ride as it is... Didn't need to resort to such behaviour though...
  5. On Sunday, not Saturday, at Brough, the Berwick lot spat their dummies out because they got beat fair and square by the worst team in the league and it sounds like it got pretty heated particularly in the pits from the official Berwick promotion and riders (can't comment exactly as I didn't see what went on in the pits, but the Berwick promotion stopped their junior riders from riding in the NJL match, that's how petty it got), I don't think they could stomach the fact that they got beat by such a weak team on paper and the tempers spilled into the crowd slightly also. Where I was stood there was many kids present and most of them were over the age of 50..... Ridiculous... Berwick have always been pretty sore losers, it's funny because me and my missus were only just commenting about it travelling up in the car before the meeting even started, talking about how they wouldn't be happy being beaten by the weakest Diamonds team of the 21st century Shame, because there's a few of the Berwick riders I quite like and they always put interesting teams together... Just spoiled by the few as usual
  6. Both teams started with 7 riders and ended with 6... Well done! And we won fairly comfortably in the end, brilliant meeting with a last heat decider, would ask for that every week... Probably the 9 last places for Berwick and the 8 wins for Newcastle is what sealed it More passing tonight than there is in an entire season at Berwick... And yes, I did go there fairly regularly (until this year) Both tracks at Newcastle and Berwick are awful, let's face it... I just wanna see proper riders throwing their bikes around week in week out... Like James Wright, Paul Starke, Max Clegg, Chris Harris. Brilliant rides by some of those tonight Yes, there was a bump tonight, that appears to have developed since they put the extra 20 tonnes of shale onto the track last week... I'm sure it will be smoothed out and it will be back to being (slightly less) bumpy than it was tonight Honestly I thought George looked a lot better tonight than he did in previous weeks, on the pace and riding hard, just a shame he was involved in 2 nasty racing incidents (nothing worth shouting about under your helmet... ey?) Hope his head ain't too sore in the morning... Other than Bomber and Ricky, Berwick were pretty rubbish imo... Kyle and Theo had 1 good race each, could say Berwick were actually a 2 man team tonight Haha
  7. Bomber and Kyle then? Wish it was two replacements spoken to... not guests...
  8. Also the ambulance situation... Newcastle used to always have 2 ambulances at the track at one stage, I'm assuming the cost is preventing that nowadays?
  9. Jack Thomas' average is far too high Yes... Assuming Leicester haven't dropped him by then?? Hopefully Ty and George are both ok and racing again soon As for the junior meeting, what a farce... Why didn't the Berwick lads ride???
  10. Hmmm, then I wonder who they were!! I guess we'll never know Aye, just burst in through the fence on bend 4 where all the kids do Nah, that bloke at the gate is him?? I know who you're on about, but I just never made the connection in my head that the bloke at the gate for the past 10 years is the new co promotor!! He's a proper fan then
  11. The only time he gets remotely close to the white line is coming off bend 4, but even then he doesn't get close to BOTH wheels crossing the white line...?
  12. Since when the hell did Ben Barkers 2 wheels ever go anywhere near over the white line in heat 3??? Even that point dropped there in heat 3 gave Scunny the league point at the end of the night...
  13. Sorry. Should've worded that better. I have seen pictures of Dave. Just meant I've never seen him at the meetings before, I dunno where he usually hangs out.
  14. Was it not just Dave Tinning and the co promotors? I have no idea, never seen Dave before so I dunno. Plus I couldn't see far enough to be able to tell who them men were. Maybe it's Granty begging for extra money after blowing the 50k on Brad and George
  15. Brennan definitely touched Kyle. Was a racing move don't get me wrong, no bad intent, but the correct call was made
  16. On Brad's and George's flights... Be far cheaper bringing in European based riders...
  17. Miles better than George, even if Sedgmen isn't all that great either. Is Dany Gappmaier still racing? Most important thing would be getting James at reserve...
  18. Same here... Rob watching from the back straight miles away from the riders, rather than in the pits stirring them on... It would be hard to throw a number out, but we arrived at 10 to and our ticket numbers were in the 400s... Still think a lot of people come in for free through the pits... Even 500 fans is woeful, even for a National League side... Must admit my patience for George is running out rapidly, surely there's a better option out there... Even Justin Sedgmen would be better... At least it would put James at reserve for a month or so... And the BWD scenario is just getting silly now...
  19. Another underwhelming performance with another week of silence on BWD injury/replacement... why did I bother 75% of the rest of the crowd didn't... Well done to Jack Thomas, Dillon Ruml and Kyle Newman. All did brilliant with the last 2 in the wars. Scotty was amazing yet again also.
  20. I'm sorry. I had it in my head that we beat Redcar 46-44... But it was a draw!! Wishful thinking perhaps
