Oxford Cheetahs 2022
Diamonds85 replied to CowleyCheetahs's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hello, can anyone tell me what the parking situation at Oxford is? I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but I can't find anything anywhere. Thanks -
I put so much money into the club with the promise of great things and ideas from Rob and NOTHING came of it... Just the sh!te we've had to watch and put up with the last 2 years... I don't care how much difficulties he had, with the previous promotions and covid, when he had the chance to make things right, do his promotors job, he just made a mockery of all of his fans, took the p!ss then ran off with all our hard earned money!!
-
I'd be happy to put in some money (one off payment) into some 'save the Diamonds' scheme... But I'm a bit sceptical now, after having put so much into Rob's reign and got nothing but woeful teams, boring meetings and many times short changed... I am not very rich as it is, so I am very personally annoyed the way Rob has ran the club the last 2 or 3 years... It's pathetic how he thinks he can just nick off with all this money from the supporters... How can he sell the air fence if the supporters trust purchased it??? It should be property of the supporter's club, sold by the supporter's club (or kept if the chances of us returning are there) and divided up equally between them... But no, Rob's just gonna take the money and run and everyone is gonna let him get away with it... I'm already banned from the Newcastle Diamonds Facebook page now for voicing my opinions there, so I guess we're not allowed opinions, the fans who have been going most our lives... What a joke F you Rob Grant

NOOOOO I'm working Friday afternoon... I'm gutted

I'm sorry for some of my comments on here the last couple of weeks. As you can imagine this club has been a massive part of my life, my childhood, my teenage years and now my young adult life, like I'm sure it has for many others. I am livid that it is closing and this has been coming for ages. I was so desperate to see change, but it wasn't coming and now it's gone. What a massive shame, I wish every Diamond's fan, old and new, the best of luck for the future, and who knows... Maybe we'll meet again in the future... Wish it had gone differently... A very disappointing ending to a club with such massive history

What happened to all the money Dave Tinning and the fan's club put into the club?
-
Thanks for being the voice of the club, it's been needed this season. Just because Granty has walked, there's still other people? Where does Dave Tinning stand now? Surely there was a couple suitors last winter, are any of them still available? I am aware you don't have the answers, and they may come out in time, just got to keep everything crossed I think Wish I could afford it... Now that his 'best mate' has walked out... Maybe a few of the old faces may be tempted back, even just on a less than regular basis and not as involved monetary... Who knows... A very sad day

Far too many emojis there...
-
Howay man... I spent ages making that post on the 2023 thread, now you've deleted it
-
In a few weeks after a few 'rain offs' I'm sure... Just a quick facebook post to the few who are on there... Hope I'm eating my words in a few days... I'm gutted
-
Where have yous heard this news??? I'm devastated... Is that the complete end to the Diamonds? We are no more? Gone forever? Or do we have chance to come back to the tapes next season? Under new promotors (if they're out there)
-
Would have been an awful lot cheaper and would have probably hit a wider audience up in Newcastle than a country show
-
At least he completed 4 laps on more than one occasion, which is more than can be said for who he's replacing... As I say, slight improvement
-

Maybe Granty realised that he wasn't as big as his ego made him out to be after the embarrassing performance from him last Sunday... He didn't even know how to slide around the tight bends... Was miles behind and couldn't stay upright, constantly going towards the fence and shutting off... Put it this way... Any of the new fans who came from the massive effort that was the county show grass track meeting won't be returning... I'm pretty confident of that, so that was a pretty big waste of time also
-
Slight improvement, only slight... Still would have preferred George in the team... Hope Kyle can do better than he has done so far this year and become one of the better kids in British speedway again. Still not a fan of his, this signing smacks of desperation from the promotion, 'let's make a slight change to try and keep the fans happy.' At least it's something though... Only taken until the following Friday to hear ANYTHING from the club after the cr@p that was witnessed last Sunday... I doubt brining in Kyle will bring any of the fans back...

Pepe Franc injured now I know it was unlikely anyway, but there's another rider off the very short list...

When IIIII were young

He's another who once showed promise to be bigger than he has turned out to be, now he's just a championship journeyman, (Bit like Proctor) I wonder how he makes ends meet, has he got any teams abroad or does he have work in this country? Genuinely curious if people of his level can make a living from speedway.
-
Never rated Ricky Wells... one of the most overrated riders in Britain, so I wasn't that shocked when he scored so badly for us on sunday
-
Fair play... I think you would do a hell of a lot better than what there is currently, (nothing) but I respect the fact that you'd rather not kind of thing. It's shame that Rob is just refusing to work with anyone... The way this has been ran, there's gonna be like 10 people there next week
-
Now now, I know you two haven't exactly got on, but no need to get personal!! But I see exactly what you're saying with regards the rest of the season, I really don't understand why he bothered coming back if this was all he was going to bother doing this season... He may have been pressured, but if he knew what this year was going to be like this, why bother? @Viper I have no idea who you are, but have you the skills and the time to maybe volunteer being the 'face' of the club? Have you already tried contact with Granty, or are you not interested in such a role? Genuinely interested.

I'm not looking for anything, if it's genuine it's genuine... But he just seems to have been missing a hell of a lot this year, must just be unfortunate for him. I don't believe Paul is the type of rider to 'skyve' but you never know. Best wishes go to him. Just come available. Wonder if it's Kyle Bickley Knowing the way the promotion have gone so far, they probably going after Jack Thomas not realising he's been release because he's got two broken wrists!!
