Brilliant looking top end, be interesting to see what the rest of the team looks like, gonna have to be a couple in the 3.00-4.00 range, who would be linked to Mildenhall at that end of the team? Will the likes of Alex Spooner, Josh Warren, Sam Bebee, Luke Muff return? Interesting times ahead. Always love to see NL teams with a big hitting experienced number 1, and Alfie is one of the best... Really want to get down to Mildenhall this year as I've never had the chance with the Diamonds usually riding on a Sunday and being at work most Mondays Best of luck in 2023
-
Also... BRILLIANT news that Armadale are once again riding next season, alongside Mildenhall
-
These are the exact riders that SHOULD be riding in the NDL... So many unused British riders who could pass on so much knowledge to younger riders... It's ridiculous they're frozen out for being too good and too experienced
-
What time is the announcement expected?
-
I assume you're on about the MASSIVE van sized craters on the road up to the gate, that runs alongside the mx track?? Not been there since the small track days, but I'm guessing this is still the main road in? Nearly snapped a few axles and blew out a few wheels in these holes in the past, especially when they're filled with water because you forget how deep they are
-
Josh and Sam aside, there have been many, many riders who have been desperate for a team over the past decade or so who have missed out and in turn jacked it in... It has been a constant issue in the NDL, young British riders not being given the chance I do hope that Sam signs for Mildenhall, I am not having a go at Mildenhall for not announcing him yet at all
-
Just going by this post earlier in this thread... But then again I shouldn't believe everything I read on here
-
Another 2 young, British riders lost to the sport because there isn't enough team places for them... Meanwhile teams who want to enter the NL get turned down...
-
Any ideas for the final spot then? 3.67 to play with if I'm correct. I'd go with Jamie Halder as a little bit of experience down at reserve if he's still going. Way better than his 3.04 average suggests, just been fairly unlucky with injuries and finding himself in the main body, which I don't think he would in this Oxford team. Eventually Clouting and Halder at reserve would be very strong.

Brilliant news

Don't get me wrong, I have ZERO inside information with ANY club. It's all just a big guess
-
Really hope so

Yes, I'm not 100% convinced with the reserves, but the top 5 look amazing, no weak links anywhere. I wonder if an Aussie 4.00er was the original plan for Glasgow or whether it was always Lee? I like Lee, but he just doesn't seem like a 'Glasgow signing' for me, if that makes sense...
-
Really strong team, think Glasgow look the strongest by far, and unless Poole pull a rabbit out of the hat, they WILL be the strongest. Personally for the line up I'd go with something a little different, split the bigger hitters across more races. Still strong in heat 13 with Brennan and Bomber. Basso at 4 will be a trump card, heat 14 in particular. 1. Chris Harris 2. Marcin Nowak 3. Claus Vissing 4. Ben Basso 5. Tom Brennan 6. Lee Complin 7. Ace Pijper

Love him or hate him (I hate him) Pedersen will be absolutely class in any country, let alone our weak leagues... I'd love to see him here, I'd travel to see him
-
Aye he wasn't this morning when I posted this. Very happy to see him signed up somewhere, especially a team I admire so much

Surely it's got to be Roynon, if he's up to it... Brilliant around Plymouth and knows the place like the back of his hand -

That's a shame I've never seen him, and only really known his name for a couple of months, but it's never a good thing to hear that about any rider. Hope he fully recovers, head injuries are very scary
-
Very similar to how the Danish league runs... So we're not talking complete bo!!ocks... People are just scared of change. Tbh the issue of number 1s vs number 7s isn't an NL issue, only every league needs restructuring imo... Watching Robert Lambert or Steve Worrall in the same race as Danny Phillips at Brough was incredibly boring at times... Honestly I think this is one of the biggest issues with British speedway, but no one will listen
-
I wasn't aware that Tate was injured too What has happened to him? Oh because that's not completely obvious I think they may be waiting for Santa Claus to come before making the announcement
-
Which riders would you say are in the run in for a Devils spot then? I imagine the Millars at reserve, Josh Embleton would jump at the chance... It's the top end yous are struggling with I guess?? I personally can't wait to come to Edinburgh next season, it's a track that's completely evaded me somehow, despite being to the city numerous times, but I want to make sure I get up there next season, because I thought at one point this winter I was never going to get the chance... Looking forward

But does every rider who ever put their leg over a bike need to make to to the CL and above... A Development league needs riders to pad it out, like the Ben Morley's of the future. Not everyone is going to make it, but why should they not be allowed to ride and enjoy the sport just because they haven't made it...? That's why some riders chuck the towel in, they lose enjoyment out of it because there's always this drama of who's going to be the next big thing and who isn't. I'm speaking first hand from experience here, me and many others before me have given up because we were classed as 'not good enough anymore' because we weren't the next Tai Woffinden, it's ridiculous. Plus... How do you know who is and who isn't going to make it until you've given them a chance, and I don't mean one or two seasons in the NL then throw them in the bin, I mean a proper stint with a bit of stability. Who knew that Jason Doyle was going to be world champion until his late 20s... If he was British he'd have been thrown in the bin years before that happened and no one would be the wiser.
-
Not all of them are in NL teams though?? That's my point, if this is a BRITISH development league, all of these riders should be given the opportunity to ride in it, regardless of how good they are... I can't for the life of me think of any sport who doesn't let an u-21 play/ride whatever in a development league because they're too good. If the rules of the NL were as such, there's would be no issues with a big league whatsoever If the race format was as such so heatleaders vs heatleaders; reserves vs reserves/second strings; second strings vs second strings/heatleaders. Something I have gone on about in the past also, then there wouldn't be any Kyran Lyden vs Anders Rowe races. It would be Kyran Lyden vs Gregor Millar in one race and Anders Rowe vs Drew Kemp in the next, all young rider who deserve a chance, but I agree shouldn't race eachother. As long as there are 4 riders in each race of similar standard to eachother, the race will be good. But of course I get shot down every time I talk about this because no one can face change, which is what British speedway desperately needs...
