  1. When I rode in the NJL we had a meeting at Berwick where I really struggled to ride the track. But once the meeting was over we were allowed to keep riding until the curfew as there was still 30 mins to go. Although the Berwick lads were reluctant to give us help during the main NJL meeting (understandably) when we were out at the end, all of the Berwick lads were giving us tips on how to ride the place, and I tell you, it was a lot easier!! 3rd bend you've got to throw it in deep and go all the way to the fence and then cut back going into bend 4 and make a long straight. If you enter bend 3 tight, which is what I was doing, you run out of room coming off bend 4 and hit the home straight fence. I've always appreciated Berwick for taking the time to help develop us young riders and letting us ride for 30 minutes after the NJL meeting had finished. Weather and accidents in the main meeting are completely out of their control!
  2. All of that for that... 😐 good signing but why did it take 3 and a half decades to announce 😆
  3. Haven't watched a GP in years, the whole meeting setup is usually pretty boring. Nothing beats league racing.
  4. What's the difference? Genuinely curious. Are the tracks in this country heavier than say Denmark and Sweden. I've watched a lot of speedway in Poland and the material does seem quite fine is probably the best way to describe it. But I'd have thought Denmark and Sweden had similarly heavy tracks compared to us?
  5. Yet he's brilliant on the continent. I've never understood why some riders come to this country and struggle so much, is it really all down to the tracks or something else? Surely we have similar size and shape tracks as Sweden and Denmark do we not?
  6. Well whoever it is must be British to be below the 4.00 requirement that all foreign riders must ride under. I just can't think of any big lads who have jacked it in recently who will be better value than a Jack Smith or Ben Trigger... Unless there's a Carl Wilkinson or a Chris Schramm type rider making a comeback 🤔 I wouldn't even know what either are doing these days.
  7. I don't know Dan or Joe at all, but just looking in from the outside they seem very respectful and not spoilt little kids like some others are... hope they both can go far in the sport.
  8. Apparently so, until the club announce who it is. It's got to be a returnee to the sport, with what points are available and the 'better option' label. No one who's raced recently makes sense with that label.
  9. Very positive news coming out of Mildenhall. I've only ever had the opportunity to visit there once however I must get back down again this season to show my support. I hope they can put a competitive team together before the start of the new season, which is only around the corner now.

  11. Unless if it was the pressure and stress of racing that were getting to him. Hope he has a good future whatever he does.
  12. If you followed ice hockey you would understand. Sheffield Steelers are the most hated hockey team in the country and it's not even a contest. Either way I think one nickname is the right choice and it does make sense for 2 steel towns. Just joking that the name 'Sheffield Steelers' is just wrong 🤣 being a bigger hockey fan than a speedway fan.
  13. Just been on Stefan Nielsens Facebook page and looks like he was back racing at the end of last season and enjoying it...
  14. Completely agree. But just in response to the post above. The only DR that fits is Darryl Ritchings. So mustn't be right. Got to be Ben Trigger, I'd be questioning it if he wasn't already signed for the Centurions but clearly he has good relations with the club? Only other thing I can think of is if someone like Stefan Nielsen is making a comeback? No idea if anyone is in the running for a comeback type thing. Not even sure what Stefans last Champ average is.
  15. What an awful name 🤢 the sheffield steelers
  16. Surely you don't mean Darryl Ritchings... He's the only DR who fits but it's such a gamble, he wasn't really the rider of the century even back when he was racing regularly, a decade out of the sport isn't going to help? Madness
  17. Well Trigger makes most sense but hints on here that it's not him??
  18. Jason Garrad isn't small 🤔 no one else really stands out 😆
  19. I'm just trying to think of big riders that they'd be 'weighing in' 😆 I'm already out of options beyond Complin haha
  20. I can only assume you mean Complin but isn't he still banned until mid season!!
  21. Surely if Trigger was the last signing it would have been announced by now.
  22. Wow, that's a very good last signing.
  23. I normally stay at the ridiculously over priced premier inn across the motorway so I can have some pints while I'm there 😄 but isn't there parking on the field behind the back straight stand?
  24. I think a lot of people are underestimating Jonas Jeppesen. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's going to be knocking doors out of windows, but if he's on a 4.50 average he'll make a mockery of it. I see him low to mid 6 by the end of the season? Depending on injuries etc. I thought he was originally on a 6.00 average that he would maintain it.
