  1. "One thing that makes the always-grinning Hancock smile even bigger is the thought of having a round of the Speedway World Championship on home soil. He says the possibility is a real one. “There is so much talk about it and they’ve been talking about it for years,” he said. “I think we’re at the closest point we’ve ever been now and there’s a lot of rumors about them trying to line something up at Daytona during Bike Week, or maybe even something in California. I think me winning this championship really helps out the potential of them pushing into America. There’s a lot of talk with some new sponsors that are coming in and there could be a really big name coming into the sport next year, which would really increase the interest in the U.S. next year. It’s 99.9 percent sure, but hasn’t been released yet. It will be a good thing. “I would love to be able to race in front of a home crowd. If it happens, great, if it doesn’t… well, the sport is still growing and it’s pretty bitchin’ to watch it.” Hmm interesting, so whos the Sponsor?
  2. Congrats to Greg on winning Cycle News Rider of the Year 2011. Great interview in the magazine aswell, if you cant get hold of a copy, sure it can be found on line.
  3. Whoops wouldnt it be 13 league matches? plus the 6 others, still only a saving of 50p or £30.50 Somerset's ticket is valid for the league matches, southern trophy matches and 1 koc match. 19 matches for £226!
  4. So the "Season Ticket" includes entry to 5 "North/South" matches, 11 League matches and a cup match. Thats 17 matches. Which at £15.50 is £263.50, So where are the other matches going to come from to make a season ticket worthwhile? Also fair to say that the team needs to be announced soon so to let people decide if worthwhile too.
  5. Half price season tickets? New stand down back straight? Return of Chris Louis at number 4?
  6. But when Bobby Miskowiak did ride the "new" track he hated it!
  7. If Adam Roynon is "injury prone" could always replace him with Jerran Hart.....
  8. Topinka's 7+1 came from him beating his teammate 3 times for 3rd place on 1-5's. Beat Harrison and Hart for one 2nd place and final 2+1 came from beating Mills (who had touched tapes and off 15m) and Schramm who had e/f when 1st! His 4 came much the same way, with 2 1-5's and then beat Doolan and Harrison for his 2nd place. So not the best of form!
  9. When comparing Heeps and Blackbird(or Jacobs, Halsey, Baseby, Baseby, Hargreaves) what you have to remember is the amount of track time they have had. Heeps must have had unlimited in Aussie, whereas where can a Brit just turn up and practice? Also how much time, effort and money have Louis (or others in the Mildenhall pits, Lee, Jolly, Doncaster, Risager etc) put into Heeps? If this had been given to a (young) Brit, what could they acheive?
  10. 8.36 for a number 1..... what a horrible position to be in!
  11. That would come to about 40 points, so could swap Mills for Doolan and still be under a 42.50 limit and Morris and Heeps would be reserves!
  12. Jordan Frampton was very lucky in the final, went head first into the track after clipping Poole off the 2nd bend.
  13. Not heard otherwise, just waiting for a text from the pits area to see what its like.....
  14. Still drizzling here in town centre, has been most of the day.....
  15. Was copied and pasted so didn't spot that one, been edited now though.....
  16. Can remember 1984/85 but not before, probably helps that they on on vhs(now dvd) though! 1984 was won by Crump after Cook had led for all of the race and had about 1/2 lap lead but had bike problems, slowed and then knocked off by Crump! Was also the year when John Louis fell off in front of most of the field and Jem Doncaster rode over him! knew it would be on youtube somewhere.....
  17. Rather than a single ELRC or PLRC why not have each club stage a round of their individual and the points go towards a championship? As for the 16 lapper here are the lineups for when the 16 lapper did indeed have a brand new bike as the prize. And they were televised on "Wheels" on itv. 1984 1:B Sanders 2:N Flatman 3:R Knight 4:P Crump 5:J Doncaster 6:C Blackbird 7:M Taylor 8:J Cook 9:H Nielsen 10:B Schwartz 11:A Campbell 12:K Niemi 13:J Owen 14:P Eriksen 15:J Louis 16:L King 1985 1:N Flatman 2:J Nilsen 3:P Eriksen 4:J Rasmussen 5:M Simmons 6:P Crump 7:A Farmer 8:B Schwartz 9:J Cook 10:C Blackbird 11:K Jolly 12:J Pedersen 13:K Carter 14:R Knight 15:H Nielsen 16:S Wigg
  18. Ah the good old Louismobile has been dusted down again! and what with Frampton now in the mix, should make it more entertaining too!
  19. Must not forget that Cameron is used to riding on the "old" silencer, whereas on thursday he will be on the "new" one. As for next year, yes it would be great if he lines up for the Wicthes at reserve but can't see him getting into the top 5 with the Witches lineup they have planned. With the rolling aves, can't see one of the top 5 dropping their average enough to allow Heeps to swap. Look at Chris Mills vs Morten Risager, Mills has kept his ave of about 5.20 all year, even though he scored double figures on 5 occasions and scored over 20 bonus points. Risager has also kept his starting ave, also with 5 double figure scores and 20 bonus points.
  20. Ipswich in trophy win shocker! In 1990 the Witches won the 4tt at peterborough after dropping down a league the year before, this year they have won it at the 1st attempt. Ok its not the league but its a step in the right direction. Maybe after a few years of stability in the premier league, not forgetting trophies, the promotion will be in a position to step up again? But after a barren 13 years, nice to win something isn't it?
  21. great rumour on who's the last man in the meeting next week....... Interesting.........
  22. Wouldn't make it common knowledge about team plans though....look what happened to Coventry and Peterborough when their plans were known before last years AGM,...... Keep quiet, get a decent points limit and then name the side a week later! As for a Kings Lynn derby, think majority of fans would say yes please
