  1. My offer still stands! Gathercole had 2 meetings this year at Foxhall, scoring 7 from 5 and 6 from 4. Doesn't sound too bad but beat his team mate 7 times, Holder, Reade and Glanz. Has 1 good ride a meeting when he gates and beat Lanham and Heeps and then Tungate and Heeps. *Famous last words......*
  2. I'll do it I'm on a 3.00 ave, will only need £10 fuel costs and use of the track spare! I will demand £1000 a point though, but sure the moneys safe!
  3. Fisher on 8.78, Cook on 8.50, and as no 5% rule anymore no he cannot. Leaves someone with average under 8.50 from Berwick, Leicester, Newcastle, Plymouth, Scunthorpe, Somerset or Workington.
  4. Can ask all they like, but won't he be riding for his current team Redcar?
  5. Witches site was updated on Tuesday. Bspa site news about cook was from today. From what I've heard Edinburgh are struggling to get a guest. Maybe other riders are on holiday? :-)
  6. 1. Leigh Lanham 6.92 2. Morten Risager 6.68 3. Taylor Poole 5.99 4. Dakota North 6.49 5. Rohan Tungate 6.55 6. Mat Tresarrieu 5.84 7. Stefan Nielsen (G) 1. Guest (8.50) 2. Derek Sneddon 5.81 3. Theo Pijper 7.71 4. Matthew Wethers 5.66 5. Andrew Tully 7.01 6. Jozsef Tabaka 4.75 7. Byron Bekker (G)
  7. Also a NL guest will be needed for Helfer at no7. Which is Byron Bekker , Not many options for the Monarchs though for Cook..... Redcar v Glasgow, Sheffield v Rye House, and Swindon v Birmingham rules out, Auty, Morris, etc. I see that Sheffield have reduced admission for the PCT to £10, nice to see Ipswich do the same......
  8. Ipswich finished both their league cup and the koc matches by the end of June, so have had plenty of time for the semis but have found it difficult to arrange matches. That's the problem when fixtures have to be arranged on different nights of the week. Weather has been bad but 7 nights of a week to ride. End of day no Meetings mean no income for promotions......
  9. Poole last night was determined and personally i was quite surprised that he kept the throttle on in heat 3 to be the meat in a Comets sandwich in the first place. Many others would have backed off. Ipswich were on a bit of a hiding regarding Poole/Doolan, as they damned if they did damned if they didn't. Keep Doolan, and Poole rode well for someone else and supporters would have been saying told you so. Bring back Poole and people are saying that Doolan should have been kept. Since returning Poole has ridden in 13 matches, 52 pts 51 rides so ave of 4.07 but 6 of those meetings have been at number 1. Doolan's last 5 meetings for Ipswich gained average of 4.60.....
  10. It may only be a Fiver but how many supporters travel alone to away matches? Looking at google for a trip to Rye House from Ipswich, its 70 miles and costs £14, £28 return . 4 supporters traveling when they have to pay only a Tenner would then have total cost each of £17, saving about a tenner each, soon adds up........
  11. Nothings guaranteed but anythings worth a try isn't it? Newcomers are more likely to be encouraged to attend with friends if its "only" a tenner. Another options which all promotions could think about is Tenner for away supporters if they show their season tickets, which would help others promotions to sell season tickets and help with the continued lack of away support from high fuel costs. Its not just Workington in trouble so its time that all the BSPA members help each other out rather than looking after number 1
  12. From where I was the ref got all 3 line calls wrong and a little more too! Surprised it wasn't a Mrs! Heat 3 1st attempt was an all 4 back. The 2nd attempt should have seen Poole excluded. Heat 4 - Nielsen and Wells had a big coming together down the back straight, looked as though Nielsen had both hands off the handlebars! Heat 5 - Birks wide off last corner and Poole seemed to just get the victory Heat 6 - Morris fell on own in 1st corner but all 4 back, looked as though it was a bike problem that caused fall. Heat 7 - Tungate passed by both Comets, but tried and failed, ref gave him 2nd as though making up for heat 5! Heat 13 - Close race with Lanham looking to have beaten Wells, celebrated but given 3rd. Might sound bias but as Bruv said evened up in the end!
  13. All 3 of Bunyan, Birks and Wells have "history" at Foxhall so could be interesting..... And then theres Bach who scored a 15 pointer last time and then did well when guesting. Lawson gates well and difficult to pass. Expect them 2 and Wells to score 30+
  14. In Warsaw we stayed in the Metropol hotel near to the station, opposite is the Novotel and behind that was a little Irish bar! Also there is a Spinx restaurant which is also a must! check out Google maps for a bit of help!
  15. Flew into Warsaw when going to Bydgoszcz a few years back. Got a direct train to Bydgoszcz which passes through Torun, took about 4 hours and was hassle free, and about £7 return! Ended up on an empty train coming back but still managed to buy up all the beer. A couple of Pila fans decided to teach us Polish in return for beer! was about 30p a can if i remember rightly!
  16. Maybe its got to do with (a) supporter(s) showing total disregard to the club and knocking it at every moment. Now he is free from the abuse he is free to score......
  17. Dunno but thanks for that. Robbo didn't make a start all night, henry made every one!
  18. Why would it be Louis' job? Afterall he is only the promoter not the team manager! But hey suppose its something that you answered a question for once! But you said "Byron Bekker for a guest tonight is a strange choice" why is he a strange choice, who would you have picked that would not have been strange? Just to help matters there are 8 NL teams, so 56 riders to choose from..... secret text here ..... Danny Phillips, Connor Coles, Ben Morley, Tom Stokes, Dan Greenwood, Joe Jacobs, Oliver Greenwood, Stefan Nielsen, Darryl Ritchings, James Sarjeant, Michael Neale, Conor Dwyer, Liam Carr, Ashley Morris, Tom Perry, Max Clegg. Reserves: Tom Woolley, Adam Kirby.are all riding tonight! Time for some maths...... So of the 56 riders that have team places 14 riders are not allowed to guest, 1 of those is Heeps, 1 is Steve Worral. 56- 14 = 42 18 are riding at Sheffield 42-18 = 24, Paul Starke is guesting for Newcastle 5 at Sheffield havent got a PL place which leaves the following 30 riders: 2 Rob Branford 7.54 3 Adam McKinna 6.44 4 Luke Priest 5.64 4 Byron Bekker 7.35 5 Dean Felton 5.56 6 Ryan Blacklock 3.36 7 Chris Widman 3.00 7 James White-Williams 4.70 1 Lewis Kerr 5.74 2 Ben Hopwood 6.72 2 Adam Lowe 5.62 3 Mark Baseby 5.67 3 Brendan Johnson 5.52 4 Steven Jones 5.33 4 Scott Campos 5.27 6 Danny Stoneman 3.00 6 Jake Knight 4.26 7 Ross Walter 3.00 7 Lewis Rose 3.00 8 Adam Ellis 3.00 8 4 Luke Chessell 5.33 5 Daniel Halsey 6.28 5 Shane Hazelden 4.69 6 Aaron Baseby 5.26 7 Ryan Dailey 3.00 7 Brad Tokley 3.00 2 Ben Reade 8.14 4 Tom Young 6.44 5 Richard Andrews 3.41 7 Liam Rumsey 3.00 So is Byron Bekker a strange choice now? :icon_smile_clown: :icon_smile_clown: :icon_smile_clown:
  19. If British riders want to ride in a British league (any) and their average allows them to, then whats the problem? Simple sport (4 riders, 4 laps) spoilt by rules that are not either simple or simply followed!
  20. Interview a footballer straight after a dubious red card and see what happens? Look what happened with Jody cundy in the Paralympics. Interview lewis Hamilton straight after his crash last weekend. All would have similar outcomes. Nicki did well to just use to$$er. An Aussie or 2 may have used a c word where as MJJ would have used language Nigel Pearson would be apologising for too.
  21. My point was he currently has an average of under 4.00 as do the rest of them, so unfair not to include him in a list of riders that have started on an average of 5.00. Personally i think a rider should keep their starting average until they have achieved it, that way more Brits might be included on a 3.00 rather than using a Dane on a 7.00 or Aussie on a 5.00 knowing that a change can be made to the team after the rider has ridden enough matches for a "real" assessment. Much the same a rider has to have a minimum average of 3.00 rather than 1.69 in the case of Jayden O'Malley
  22. Don't know where "Bruv" was standing but my view..... Jorgensen - Dodgy 1st heat, lucky in heat 11 that it got rerun as he was last in the 1st staging. Great choice of guest Sneddon - Quick from the start, had a "few moments" when drifted wide, seemed to be in a bit of discomfort after fall when under pressure. Wethers/Pjiper - Seemed to be glued together when they rode, bit like paralympics and when an athlete needed a guide! Tully - hit and miss Campton - a couple of good heats, better than last time good choice of guest Helfer - should of stayed at home, did well to clear track in heat 4, can't "helf" but think that he is doing a Brit out of job. Its not just him but the likes of him, Jakobsen, Dyer, Sitera, Glanz, James Holder, Ksiezak, Dilger and Mudgway all on sub 4.00 aves and could easily be replaced by NL rider.
  23. Witches lack of home meetings recently will help Edinburgh and both teams are simliar with lots of 6-7 point men but no outstanding heat leaders! Most races will be very even and tough to call, can see most of the riders having up and down nights. Last year the Witches beat the Monarchs 51-41 but both sides are a very different sides. Only Poole for the home team,Wethers and Tully for the the visitors return, Lanham is back to the dreaded no1 race jacket, but Poole will benefit from being lower down the order. Tress at reserve will not be as strong as Risager was there and hopefully Nielsen can do well again. Tungate has been a bit off the pace lately and North will be on high after getting silver in under 21 wtc. Jorgensen scored paid 10 for Scunthorpe this year, and Tully rides well at Foxhall. Sneddon, Pijper and Wethers can all pop out of the gate and get race wins Campton scored 3 but didnt beat a team mate after being stuck in traffic. Helfer is making his Ipswich debut. Like i said, could go either way............. i'm perched on the fence! Ps Surely Edinburgh will do better than their Scottish cousins the Tigers!
  24. Hello Mate, i've always gone via A12, A120 to Stansted then down M11 and through Harlow, A414 to Roydon and through the sewage works toll (if thats still open?)
