Don't get me wrong, 9+2 away from home is a great score but he didn't have to do much for his points though, take a look. Heat 02: Tresarrieu, Newman, Nielsen, Kerr Beat 2 NL riders inc team mate Heat 04: Tungate, Newman, Vissing, Nielsen Beat NL rider and Team-mate Vissing (Vissing's only time he beat an opponent) Heat 08: Risager, Davies, Newman, Tresarrieu Beat Tress Heat 10: Lanham, Risager, Monberg, Newman Heat 12: Poole, Newman, Monberg, Nielsen X 3 riders only after NL Nielsen excluded, beat Team mate Heat 14: Newman, North, Tresarrieu, Wright Superb gate to effectively win the Rebels the meeting. I've always said that for riders to do their jobs the rider in Red has to beat White, Blue has to beat Yellow. So Newman did his job 5 times to 1, and thats 4 points gained, he also beat "red" in last heat so thats an extra 2. Job done! Rebels win. Couls also say the same of Vissing, his 3 points were 3 more than Ipswich got, but he only beat team mate on wrong side of a 5-1 twice and then Nielsen. Swings and roundabouts!

Witches left themselves with too much to do after the first leg but nearly did it, nearly seems a fitting word for the Witches! Also it was the 3rd time a Somerset number 1 has scored a maximum at Foxhall this year, Bach and Barker have also got full houses on their travels. The Witches didn't start great but upped the pace in the mid part of the meeting all for it to die out after Vissing's move in heat 13. Crowd had got behind the boys after Poole's pass in heat 12 but then all the momentum was lost with the interval after the heat, then came Vissing's match winning move. Wiped out both Witches going into the 3rd bend, rightly excluded but damage was done,Tungate and Lanham clearly struggling in the rerun. Heat 14 saw game over as Newman who hadn't done to much until then, he had beaten a team mate and Nielsen 3 times, and Tress once, outgated a under performing North( best bikes on way to Argentina maybe?) and Tress. Witches riders not for the first time this season failed to show the trackcraft needed to pass. Over the past couple of months the track has been riding like 2 very different tracks, bend 1/2 tight line needed, 3/4 its the outside blast, unfortunatley this seems to be unseen by the riders and management themselves. The away riders seem to know though! Another pattern seems to be that the away team adapt to the track conditions, where as the Witches are scratching their heads, not just individuals but as a whole! Lanham, Risager, Tungate and Poole did well tonight, looked their old selves. North and Tress were below par, Nielsen is struggling with fitness possibly, maybe Jacobs in on saturday would be a good option? Somerset did the job needed but more as Ipswich failed to do theirs over the 2 legs. Oh well on to saturday, and a similar score will be needed to take to Newcastle, at least tacticals will not be available which is right when the score is over 2 meetings It was lacking atmosphere to start with, and wasn't until mid meeting when the Witches started to get back into it that the crowd got vocal.

Should be £15 for tonight but only £10 for sat by showing ticket from tonight. More people would have gone to both that way. Need a good start tonight and no silly mistakes. Hope Nielsen OK from last nights fall, perry should be missing, but no news on replacement yet..... lewis Kerr has be named :-)

Robson struggled last time at Foxhall but that just a blip. Handy that nedermark isn't at reserve but wethers will do well there. Henry was electric from the gate and lemon also scored double figures. Was RR for lindgren last time, starke failed to score. For the witches bekker only beat starke, and Poole failed to score. Could be close or could be 55-35 either way!

In the end it was the weather that got the better of the teams but would the remaining 3 heats to get to the 12th heat have been able to be run considering the 10pm cutoff? The rather prolonged interval between the double header and then more track grading once the meeting went ahead certainly didn't help Workington's cause. As for the Witches, thats 2 cup finals from a season that for ALL teams has been one to forget really...

Why not just have 3 WC picks, then at each round have 1 local WC and 1 "inform" WC from any nation? -
Looking back to the league meeting, Cook is back for the Monarchs but his replacement Summers scored 14 last time, Tully, Pjiper and Wethers scored 9 each. Sneddon should improve on his 3 points. Depends how many more the Monarchs reserves be able to score more than the paid 6? For the Witches, Lanham and Tungate only scored paid 9 but Risager will do well to score another 12. The reserves scored 10 and Poole and North 13 combined. Looks about right so will be close one, just depends on r/r

2 minutes to get onto the track and be in position to start the race. Then let the riders do what they want, eg not have to sit still, if they want to get a roller, let them as long as they dont touch the tapes.will save all this faffing about with did he or didn't he move. Tapes could be on a timer so that the ref presses a button and then they release between 1.5 and 3 seconds.

I know its YOUR top 10 riders but Dakota North has 29 from 10 from his last 2 meetings in the PL so think he is the on form rider at present with a 11.60 average.
