Just read the updates from tonight and funny how views of proceedings are different depending on track view. Barker and makinen are cause for concern. Barker seems to be making wrong moves on track, needs to stick to inside line early in meeting. Makinen's point was vital in end, seems low on confidence. Tungate went about his business and great pass on Davies. Risager started off superb, only moan is he should be winning heat 14. Lanham seemed to be tiring still possibly having effects from his couple of falls last week. Ellis was superb and rode some excellent 1st corners, another race win this time in heat 14, also paid win in heat 2. Heels also excellent but will be feeling 2nd hand tomorrow after heat 8 crash. For the Rebels Doyle finally dropped points at Foxhall when EF at start line. Quick but looked on edge. Davies looked quick but finished night early after t boning heeps in heat 8 Grajzonek tried all he could to pass in heat 7, thing is it was for 2nd over teammate and nearly let Ellis past! Newman had customary fall. Morris a little below par but only because he only got 2 race wins. Perry scored 4 but only beat a struggling Heeps , rest came from lack of finishers. Nielsen only completed 4 laps out of his 4 races. 3 falls and tape exclusion. Many Witches fans wanted him in side this year but lived up to reputation that he crashes a lot.

What home advantage? This will only be 2nd time the Witches have ridden at Foxhall and didn't have any pre season practice due to the weather. Somerset will be in their 5th match, Doyle and Morris have also ridden an extra 4 times, and only Perry hasn't ridden an extra ones. Barker has ridden 5 more and Tungate once for Poole. The rest it can be said are rusty. For the Rebels, Doyle was unbeaten at Foxhall in 2012 and Morris is a class act too. The rest it can be said are like the Witches, hit and miss. Newman and Nielsen either win or come last. Grajczonek didnt ride here last year, Perry and Davies seem to struggle a bit.

That night his points money was gained for beating 5 riders into 3rd place, regardless of who they were......... -

Makinen has probably done a lot more laps around Somerset than Ipswich, could be our trump card........... -

Not snowing here in Ipswich anymore and brightening up and no more snow or rain forecast after lunch. Suppose is because its Plymouth and will save coachloads of their supporters from the cold (and the witches ones too) -
Ex Witches Poole and Tressarieu would fit average wise. don't know about availability though, Poole is watchiing his Friends boxset as "bruv" said, thats 236 episodes!

r/r for Witches would give extra ride to Tungate. Pity for Makinen but this will make the Witches stronger -

If you want to sit then why put it on the top step? You are then making it difficult for anyone to stand on any of the steps below. What if everyone who got there 1st put chairs around the whole of the top steps, where would people stand? On the other hand I'd be peeved if someone stood in front of me but as manners seem a thing of the past nothing would surprise me! -

Grrr my post just dissapered Oh well in the short, freeeeezzzing cold, Huge crowd went home happier after a win by superb Barker team riding, not once but twice and a mess up in heat 13. Gate 4 only scored 10+2, so worse than Western Springs and outside line non existant on track that rode smooth but did well to get meeting on after weather. Barker - "only" scored 12 but worth much more than that. Made it look so easy. Makinen - gates well but struggled with first bends, going far too wide. Tungate - picked up after 1st ride, went chasing an outside pass into 2nd but went backwards Risager - For an "inside line rider" didn't do too well. Early days. Lanham - Got slower as the race went on, probably due to fitness. Nasty tumble in 2nd heat when Lambert forgot to turn! Ellis - Superb gate and go in heat 2 but struggle with track/bike when off outside gates. Heeps - Looks a better rider than last year, slightly difference style that allows bike getting good drive off the corners. Had nasty fall where it looked as though he banged his arm/wrist/hand. Onwards and upwards though, its early days. much better position than the Rye meeting last year! -

People are either going to love Wade and Johnno or hate them more than Nigel and Kelvin. Going to be a marmite/vegemite moment!
