  1. So the changes are not happening then? Still on Lakeside's website.....
  2. Great PL action again tonight, hands up who wants to see more PL meetings rather than the EL?
  3. Kids for a quid is a must and that means under 16's. Problem is that when kids get to the age of full price they would rather spend money elsewhere. Every meeting this year we are given rain off tickets, why cant something be done with them, certainly if it was a tv match? bring along 5 or 6 and get 2 people in for £20. I haven't been to a Sky match at Foxhall but would consider it if it was only £10. Or use them for half price for a meeting like the Star of Anglia or 16 lapper.
  4. always paid on the day, season tickets are not value for money are they? Only got to miss a meeting and you paying more money. Was going to get a season ticket this year when they were first announced but then the conditions changed and didn'y include a programme or all the matches. Season tickets should work out about £10-£12 per match, then i think more people would commit. Or let them be transferable, eg if i couldn't go then i could pass it on to my dad to go.
  5. Its does say "Premier International Series" but what that mean? No idea of who's classed as Premier but hopefully find out soon..... As for the other dates: Rye House 6th July Sheffield 25th July Workington 17th August Newcastle 18th August When interviewed tonight, Craig Cook said he will be back next week for the test match. Also heard that its for "Premier League" riders only......
  6. Taken from http://www.ipswichwitches.co GB v Australia Test Next Week The Witches take a rest next Thursday to make way for the first in a series of five test matches between Team GB and Australia. There is a long history of sporting rivalry between the two countries and this promises to be fiercely contested from the start as each team will be fired up to take the first victory. The meeting will be run over 15 heats and normal admission prices apply. Team lineups will be announced as soon as official confirmation is received. Any idea on line ups? EL or PL? Seems strange that Rohan Tungate will not be riding as Poole are at Swindon that night and the meeting is sponsored by one of his Aussie sponsors! This would also rule out Kennett, Batchelor, Birks, Holder and Poole's British riders too! So will be picked:? GB - Woffinden, Barker, Cook, King, Nicholls, Harris, Worrall, Allen, Ellis, Howarth, Bridger, Lanham, Australia - Woodward, Heeps, Smith, North, Doyle, Davies, Grajczonek, Nelson, Schlein, Watt.
  7. So why Ipswich? Can only think that Nicholls, Lanham, Barker and Ellis would have given Tai a good run for his money! Actually can't think of many Brits that dont do well at Foxhall....well apart from Lawson
  8. for now, got to be looking over his shoulder with the Pirates now that they resting riders...... he could be next..
  9. what's the first rule of fight club? There is no fight club Whats the first rule of speedway? There are no rules................
  10. Far too much sense in this idea, go to the corner of the room and wait until you are told to move! Also like the idea of staging it on the friday before the Cardiff GP. Or even the sunday after.....
  11. Great match, said it would be closer than people were saying, got the 3 points but only just! Barker - stood up in heat 15 when it was needed and secured the points, but when will he win a heat 1? Well i can possibly answer that.... when he doesn't go wide on 1/2 on the first lap! Every week he has tried the blast around the outside which quite clearly doesn't work! Also when off inside needs to stay on that line. Hawkins - Alwasy in the mix and would have scored more if he had held his line on the inside in heat 10 Tungate - Won heat 3 but then was passed in his next 3 heats by his Aussie mates. Quite poor really. Risager - Only dropped a point and was not to be moved in heat 15. Only small gripe is that heat 14 is a heat that he should be winning every week, as should Hawkins in heat 2 and Tungate in heat 12, all 3 riders failed last night! Lanham - Down on power it seems but did his job especially in 13 when he split the Rebels pair Ellis - Struggling with hip injury, not helped by his crash on 1st bend. Could have been all 4 back and only just got off the track. Heeps - Stuck at the task and did his job, performance a bit less than recent weeks but still scored paid 9! Nielsen - He did finish a race but still no points and well off the pace, Perry - only scored his point by beating Nielsen in heat 2 and well off the pace too. R/R Morris - Rebels scored 9 so not too bad, Grajconek - was steady all night, always in the mix Newman - was gating well (too well in heat 8, thought he was Rene Bach) and did his job, 1st time he didn't fall off at Foxhall in a long time! Davies - Started meeting poorly but soon found a setup and able to get past both Tungate and Risager to win his last 2 heats. Doyle - Normal Foxhall service, looked on half throttle when winning races, but was beaten by Risager in his 2nd heat, did pass Tungate in that heat, and got past Lanham in heat 13. However blotted his night with his last heat antics. Risager gated from 1 and off the 2nd bend Doyle tried to barge his way past but failed. Going into the 3rd bend he tried to charge under him again but Risager held firm. At this point Barker had got round the pair and the Witches were on a 5-1. He obviously thought this was going to work, so tried again into the 1st bend only to clip the back of Risager's bike and was highsided onto his shoulder. White light on and he was excluded from the rerun. Stayed down a while but then jumped up and raced back to the pits to confront Risager. Apparently Risager was to blame as was too slow into the bends so he should have been excluded! Witches team rode superbly to keep Grajconek in third and all 3 points were for the Witches
  12. Weather forecast now looks good with the rain staying out in the north sea. Think it will be tougher than people are expecting. last time Somerset had Nielsen not completing a race and Davies ending up in casualty.
  13. I was there, think he buckled his front wheel that night too trying to get the bike in the van but wouldn't fit, well it did after 3 or 4 slams of the doors!
  14. Now that Woffinden has finally won on his home track hopefully the event will be moved now to a more neutral track. Or a series of 3 meetings at say Berwick, Ipswich and Somerset would be good.
  15. Can't see how meeting reserves that didn't start the meeting can qualify? Didn't used to in previous competitions, think they had to replace a rider in the first 4 heats to be able to.
  16. Same as last years 4TT when clubs missed out, surely someone could come up with a format that all teams would be included?
  17. Will be close, hopefully the Witches can nick a point. A lot depends on how fit Tungate is after last nights off and whether Ellis will be riding (is in the Under 21 atLonigo on saturday).
  18. Depends what Harris does in the SGP, but i'd go for the younger guys approach to add to obvious pick in Woffinden. But here's whos available: Looking at the EL this year, there are only King, Bridger and Mear that are only riding in that league. Next up are the doubling up/down riders . Barker, Kennett, Auty, Cook, Allen, Robson, Howe, Stead, R Worrall, Lawson, Howarth and Birks. Finally there are the under 21 riders like Garrity, Ellis, Branford, Newman and Morris. Could always leave out Woffinden and Harris for the round at Kings Lynn and put them back in for the likely run off as they has experience of foreign tracks. Would give Cook and Worrall places, but any from Auty, Barker, King, Kennett and Bridger could get the nod
  19. Good matches too from what i remember, sure i have them on dvd somewhere.....
  20. Strange that Doyle was released as Swindon didn't want to use 3 "doublers". Maybe another change coming?
