  1. Well on last Night's showing looks a big season for Tungate. Seems to have changed his riding style, more aggressive with arms stretched out rather than upright body position. Bit disappointed with Heeps and Worrall but early days 😊 once Manzares sorts his gating will be fine. Risager and Hawkins both looked up for it. Finally what about Mr Louis, only fractionally slower than the pro's!
  2. You be in for concessions prices sooner than I thought!
  3. Ipswich had Heeps at reserve, and have swapped Lanham and Barker for Worrall and Manzares. Should be a Witches win but early season so anything can happen. If Tungate and Heeps can kick on a gear in 2014 and add 1.5 - 2 to their aves then will be a good year for the Witches. In fact all the team have the potential to add at least a point, if they do will be there or there abouts come October.
  4. Suits look good. Seems to be the in thing this year to have more Black.
  5. Let riders do what they want regarding moving, rolling or jumping at the start. If they touch the tapes they get excluded. Would stop the did he didn't he move scenario. When a rider moves forward the ref just waits until they roll back and then let's the tapes go. Or have a system that releases the tapes at a random time after the green light is pressed. Then upto the ref to just see if anyone touches the tapes.
  6. How can you have RR for a rider yet to ride for you this year?
  7. Maybe they will be made to wear the rakers bolier suits for the press and practice?
  8. Gino apparently flew into the UK yesterday and is staying in Ipswich for the season.
  9. Taken from http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/ Ipswich ‘Sackers’ Witches fans will be breathing a sigh of relief today as their Aussie whizz-kid Cameron Heeps looks all set to be fit for the start of the season. The 18-year-old, who is now back in England, underwent a successful operation on his troublesome wrist last week and the early prognosis is good, with the talented teenager desperate to get back on a bike. “I still have a little bit of pain, but other than that all seems fine,” Heeps said. “I go back to see the specialist on March 5 and we will know more then, but it seems things are looking good already. “My plan was always to target press and practice day (March 17) for my return and that date hasn’t changed. I told the surgeon that was the date I would like to go for and he agreed it was more than possible.” Heeps endured a quiet time Down Under in the winter as he sought to rest his wrist ahead of the English season. He rode in the Aussie Under-21s but admitted he was ‘not prepared enough’ and scored just four points. “My whole time in Oz – as I wasn’t riding very much – I hated it,” Heeps added. “I’m buzzing to get going. I can’t wait to get on the bike again, that’s all I want to do.” Those words will be music to the ears of the Foxhall faithful with Heeps looking to improve on a hugely successful 2013 season, despite the fact that, once again, he hasn’t got an Elite League club to double up with. “The new rulings about riders at reserve in the Elite League have hit the likes of myself,” he added. “I want to ride as much as I can and I would like a go in the Elite League. Perhaps it won’t happen. We’ll see. “We (the Witches) look a pretty solid line-up and Ritchie Hawkins will be a great captain, he’s a real laugh and good for team spirit.” The Witches’ season begins on Saturday, March 22 with the Morten Risager Testimonial meeting. That will feature, among others, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kenneth Bjerre, Scott Nicholls and most of the Witches team. Hopefully all goes well then and maybe he will be after the number one spot too! Also seems P & P is March the 17th
  10. So this year its Rohan's time to want to be number 1, Should have a better shot at it than Morten did last year! As for Jabobs, he wanted transfer last year and after being overlooked for last years number 7 spot was always going to leave when Louis had suitable offer. Playing devils advocate here but Maybe Louis has pulled a fast one!? Don't transfers normally get paid for over 3 years? If Coventry were to finish then Jacobs would revert back to the Witches.......
  11. also a "picture" book from Stephen Waller. Was on special offer in "The Works" recently
  12. I'd say the opposite if it is the case that British Promoters have changed the date. Why? well there are 4 fixtures that are in the calender: Eastbourne - Joonas Kylmakorpi Testimonial Plymouth - British U21 Semi Final . Workington v Newcastle Ian Thomas Shield Ipswich - Morten Risager Testimonial . Surely these should take precedent over a fixture that has been "requested" by a Polish club? May have been different if Sky had actually been involved in the original tournament but that doesn't seem the case.
  13. Taken from http://speedwaygp.com/ World No.2 Jaroslaw Hampel and Sweden’s Andreas Jonsson could make rare appearances in the UK as Zielona Gora reportedly plan a pre-season clash with King’s Lynn on March 19. Polish organiser Team Player Management had planned to stage a two-day tournament at Peterborough until the club withdrew from the Elite League and moved into the Premier. But according to Falubaz.com, the meeting will now be a one-off event at King’s Lynn with Hampel, Jonsson, former Stars rider and Falubaz captain Piotr Protasiewicz and World Under-21 champ Patryk Dudek all lined up to race. With Elite League sides considerably weaker than their Ekstraliga counterparts, it is believed King’s Lynn will be able to draft in some star guests alongside SGP regulars Niels-Kristian Iversen and Kenneth Bjerre to match the might of the tourists. So now looks like its been changed to the Wednesday?
  14. I'd take that. But do the panthers get andersen and the witches Nicholls for the night to make it interesting 😎
  15. Witches vs stars in a pre season challenge would be good wouldn't it? As for 'poop hole' take it you not been lately then.......
  16. Lions team suits been revealed but haven't got all black legs like previous years. Has this been scrapped?
  17. Reported that SKY tv will be at the meeting on the sunday, the saturday is for a 4TT qualifying meeting. So thats the real reason for the date change then!
  18. Both Bach and Mills have said they have guest bookings before the season has started. Might be 2+2=5 but...... probably best available
  19. Taken from http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk Ipswich ‘Sackers’ Witches have a new team manager. And director of speedway at Foxhall, Chris Louis hasn’t had to look too far to find one – he’s going to do it himself. Louis will be taking over the manager’s role from Pete Simmons who stepped down earlier this month and he admits he will have plenty to learn. “To be honest I’ve given this a lot of thought after Pete decided to step down,” Louis said. “I needed to look at who could do a better job than Pete because there was no sense in just standing still. I like to move forwards and I had a few options but I didn’t feel those options were going to take us forward that much. “It won’t be an easy job and it will be something I will need to grow into. But I know the club better than most and I’ve stood in on a couple of occasions as manager for Ipswich and Mildenhall, so I know a bit of what it’s all about.” One of the reasons Louis cited for him taking over the mantle was the continuity within the Witches team in 2014. “Five of the team this year rode last year, so I’m not having to get to know a lot of new riders,” he added. “I’m really looking forward to working with Ritchie (Hawkins), the new club captain. He’s a great lad and I hope me and him can bounce ideas off each other for the best for the team.” New No.1 Ritchie Worrall meanwhile – and reserve Adam Ellis – will both be missing from the Witches big Good Friday double header with Peterborough Panthers because both are required to ride for their contracted clubs, Belle Vue and Lakeside respectively. It is something many Witches fans had feared and had already picked up on. But Louis says things are in hand. “I can assure Witches fans I had guests booked for Richie and Adam on the day the fixtures came out,” he said. “I was aware of the clash and I could have tried to get our home meeting with Peterborough on the Saturday night. But our fans have become used to a Good Friday afternoon meeting and I wanted to continue that – and hopefully many will travel to Peterborough later Good Friday night to support us.” The Witches season starts on Saturday, March 22, with the Morten Risager Testimonial. The first Witches team action is on the following Thursday, March 27, at Foxhall, when Rye House Rockets are the visitors in a League Cup clash. Meanwhile, track staff signing-on night will take place on Thursday March 6, at Ipswich Sports Club, Henley Road, Ipswich, IP1 4NJ. Start time is 7.30pm - Don’t forget to bring a passport-sized photo if you require an official licence. Think we will see 2 Comets on Good Friday,
  20. Surely the bspa will be the losers here. How many are going to goto Coventry when it's now on TV. Fans will goto Poole and record the ERC.
