  1. Speedway using sensible rules..... It will never catch on!
  2. Any ideas on who gets priority with King and Nielsen?
  3. As Lakeside picked him, it was then difficult for him to ride PL due to missing too many meetings.Wouldn't be able to ride at Edinburgh, Peterborough, Plymouth, Somerset or Scunthorpe as all ride on fridays. Then any other PL club would have him missing those away fixtures plus any home ones that clash with Lakeside away fixtures (Swindon on thursday and Leceister on saturdays) Sarjeant at Coventry will have the same "problem" as he will miss the Friday PL meetings also. BTW Last season Ellis rode in 37 of his teams 46 PL fixtures.
  4. Maybe he thought that he had an EL and PL places sorted, so didnt need to?
  5. Yes it does but who cares the little boys clubs arec all happy so who give a ~~@%%% about whats good or bad for the fans?!
  6. As a tier 2 reserve i would think that Ellis would have been on the top of every promoters list of riders for the EL. This could also be the case for PL promotions too, not many riders on a 4.5 ave would be better! However could it be that the PL promotions have been put off with him having to miss numerous meetings when they were to ride at Friday tracks due to him being "fast-tracked" at Lakeside?. This also would rule out Friday night tracks themselves , two of which Somerset and Peterborough would have suited him nicely. Last year there was an agreement that he could miss some Lakeside fixtures to ride for the Witches, maybe this was not going to be the case this year? For someone like Ellis, riding week in week out in the PL would do him far more good than being fast tracked. Something seems wrong at Lakeside when they have created problems for both Ellis and Morley, whom you would have thought would be in the PL too, but finds himself with neither an EL or PL place!
  7. King will score more BP than Tungate so that will be the difference in aves.
  8. But think of the confidence that would be taken from a Witches win!
  9. Speed weekend was to be taken from Foxhall if changes were not made I'm led to believe.......
  10. 3 meetings this year have had near capacity crowds for the cars. These meetings are not the normal ones but the ones where fans will travel vast distances to be there. Speed weekend over the 2 days charges £25 a day. So a nice little earner! Also believe that at Gala night they had to turn people away! And again that was a premium event that charges more than normal. The Weekly meetings attendances are like you said pretty good, but don't forget the drivers pay to be there so out goings are at a minimum. Looks like they using the speculate to accumulate theory, which seems to be paying off.......
  11. Bit like renting a house. When you are living there you don't mind improving it as it benefits yourself. Eg painting the rooms. May even do bigger things if you are told you can buy at the end of the current agreement. Eg sort out the garden. However once that offer has be taken away I think most would be loathe to do anything else. Think that is where Spedeworth and Foxhall are at now. Thing is Spedeworth will have made money through increased attendances since the upgrades so not all bad........
  12. It was Chris Louis who said that recently in the local paper. Can only be a good thing
  13. Not many decent 3 pointers about though, but isn't that the case with ALL 3 pointers? Greaves, Perry, D Greenwood, Morley etc could all do a job......
  14. Actually swap Heeps and Manzares, then in the 3 races they are together, Manzares gets 2 inside gates and Heeps 1. Covatti at 7 gives him outside gates in heat 2, then swap him and Nielsen in 6 and 7 to even up rides....
  15. Hawkins will be captain, and team will lineup 1. King 2. Hawkins 3. Manzares 4. Heeps 5. Tungate 6. Nielsen 7. Covatti
  16. Garrity asked him after the race had finished what had happened and North told him he had put him in the fence. Could hear the conversation down the back straight!
  17. The Stewart case is interesting as he failed the test but has since provided evidence that the substance 'Adderall' was prescribed and he is now allowed to use it in the FUTURE. However because he didn't declare he was taking it, he has been banned. The ban has been imposed by WADA and not the FIM. its a standard procedure by them and was the same in a previous case with Australian Anthony West. Initially he was banned by the FIM for 6 months, which was then extended by WADA to 16 months. Harsh but rules regarding a ban are consistent with no grey areas. Not looking good for Darcy is it?
  18. Apparently so but is this classed as a FIM event? maybr its only FIM events they are banned in?
  19. Ellis was on loan to Ipswich. Covatti is on loan to Ipswich. So not really Ipswich's fault? If Ellis was an Ipswich asset think would be different.... Needs to be a fast track of sorts in the PL so the likes of Ellis and Jacobs get rides.
  20. Anywhere's more professional than Britain! Hmmm interesting...... Wanna bet?
  21. 5.00 - Riders not riding in a Professional Speedway League and Commonwealth or USA (to a maximum of 4 each season) Riders new to British Speedway. Thats from 2014 regs, obviously can get rid of the "Commonwealth or USA" bit. So only new (non visa required) riders to the PL with no league speedway experience. Wouldn't be many of them i wouldn't have thought? Not if he has ridden in a league match....which he has (Landshut)
  22. The old 5 pointer is now a 7 pointer.......
  23. No such thing as a "5 pointer" now though!
