  1. But if there is a chance for the win, you have to go for it! Its the attitude of "not winning or losing its the taking part" that has got uk sport in a mess! Oh well least i know not to bother with going for a few weeks until we have a chance of winning!
  2. Taken from http://www.ipswichwitches.co/ Director of Speedway, Chris Louis, summed up his team's first meeting of the season: "It was as pleasing as it was frustrating to come away with what may prove to be a vital point. The evening was made 'interesting' by a lack of communication between the pits and the officials box. There’s been something very professional and composed about Cameron (Heeps) since his return from Australia a couple of weeks ago and it showed on Saturday. Calm and focused he went about scoring a very creditable 15 points with some good starts and even better passes. Danny (King) backed him up well and although we’ve only got one team meeting under our belts, I can see already why I was keen to bring him back at the earliest possible opportunity. His preparation for the season has been impeccable, he’s a team man through and through and brings a happy and calm atmosphere to the pits. New team manager, Phil Hilton, had a lot to deal with on his debut as well - R/R for Ritchie (Hawkins), Nico (Covatti) turning up just as the riders are leaving the pits for heat two, no pit to referee communication and a frustrated Gino Manzares! That’s a lot to handle on your first night, and he did us proud with a focused and professional job."
  3. Scored 8 from 6 in the same meeting that Nielsen guested for Glasgow and scored 8+2 himself! but only beat 3 Ipswich riders (that finished) for his points! Heat 02: Lykke, Nielsen, Heeps, Ellis Heat 05: Re-runx3 Wolbert, Risager, Lykke , Manzares (fx) Heat 06: Worrall, Hawkins, Lykke, Nielsen Heat 09: Risager, Harrison, Manzares, Lykke Heat 11: Wolbert, Tungate, Lykke, Heeps Heat 14: Re-run Heeps, Lykke, Pijper , Manzares (fx) If i remember rightly anyone that did 4 laps could have scored that night! Manzares fell 3 times and also went from 15m after tape exclusion, Tungate went from 15m too and also fell. Henry fell and had tape offence, Wolbert fell, Harrison had tape offence!
  4. Mellgren always gone well at Foxhall, but 2 reserves have generally struggled, Bowen more so, Lykke with his gating. both will do well to get about 10.. (famous last words)
  5. Thats what i was trying to point out, even though their EL averages would rule them out riding in the PL, they would be allowed to as they both have a PL ave like Palm Toft from the previous year.
  6. Doyle's last PL average in 2013 was 10.25. So yes.... even though his 8.44 EL ave from 2014 says he couldn't. North's last PL average in 2013 was 7.00, but EL ave in 2014 of 6.57 would say no....
  7. Loophole has been closed 18.6.4 If a Rider has only an EL Established MA from the previous season, which must not exceed 6.00, then a conversion is necessary; the EL MA is multiplied by 1.4. But why have the BSPA said its ok when the above rule clearly states its wrong? I think that "In the interests of the sport" children should be allowed in free and adult prices should be £10. Bet if i tried this i would be turned away.....
  8. Manzares and Tungate only scoring 6 between them.... Nielsen gating in winning positions and failing to hold on to them.... Heat 12 was the final turning point.....
  9. Giving Nielsen more rides than 2 time heat winner Covatti does seem strange.....
  10. Not very quick to get to the track..... but quick on it!
  11. Hope the evening stays that way.....the rain stays away and not too cold or you'll end up with a shriveled up old sausage !!
  12. Covatti 2014- Plymouth 1 from 3 Edinburgh 1 from 5 Redcar 9+1 from 6 Ipswich 4+1 from 5 Think he will do his scoring on the bigger tracks, which is ok as thats where we normally struggle.
  13. No he's only been to Redcar, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Plymouth, Peterborough and Ipswich
  14. But the Workington decision wasn't correct as that team was never confirmed....
  15. r/r it is then... Heeps, Covatti and Nielsen. Should be ok for cover but always nice to have full 7 riders. Early decesions for the TM then, who rides when.....
  16. Yeah he was, but when he didnt gate in his last heat, as with the others the track didn't allow a line to overtake. Quick when in front and had a great race with Barker, neither giving an inch but Barker pushed him a bit wide and Lambert fell. Pity he will be missing on Good Friday but thats good news for the Witches scores! Oh er missus!
  17. Report and picture of Ritchie http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/teams/ipswich-witches/schlein_wins_opener_at_foxhall_as_hawkins_suffers_injury_1_4002467
  18. Pilot error then?! Anyone think we riding at Edinburgh on Saturday! *wink* Think I've just about warmed up now too....
