  1. Yeah, like the rules have ALWAYS been followed in this sport……
  2. The BSPL and Oxford knew Redcars predicament regarding lack of riders and still made them accept the date. You can’t blame riders, who are self employed, going where they get the best wage. The BSPL didn’t think of ‘protecting its asset base ‘ when it gave Poland the green light on prioritising race dates did it ?
  3. Interesting….two guests and R/R in a junior 4 rider team, just like the pro leagues!
  4. But Bailey wasn’t….he was only signed after Shane’s declared he wasn’t going to be fit and he had already got a Polish contract before his deal with Redcar. The problem here is not the riders, it’s the BSPL’s handing of the hole play off situation , fixtures and the ill thought out rules
  5. Whilst that is rather a strange , and worrying ,thing to wait for, isn’t that why riders get tested ?…..to prevent such a thing from happening .
  6. You are going to be shocked then,,, UK average per point for a heat leader 80- 120…..if they aren’t in a guarantee…. .Poland …set fees in the thousands for turning up!
  7. Whilst it is a great signing for the championship there is the down side of what he is actuality being paid , and yes it’s a phenomenal sum for a ‘five pointer’ and the most any championship rider is currently being paid. It may only be for half a dozen matches but you can imagine what riders wage demands will be for next season. Trying to buy a trophy ? But then, if you’ve got it, flaunt it !
  8. Well , Bellend….the clue there is word ‘ rescheduled’…..meaning a rearranged fixture so no priority.
  9. “Cannot be bothered “ or earning four times as much riding elsewhere ?.
  10. No they haven’t but you keep pretending you know it all.
  11. No, no tyres provided by BSPL for semi etc , 1tyre per rider at the beginning , end of.
  12. No disrespect at all, the club had a trophy on hand for the photos and that was it.
  13. Because they weren’t issued tyres for the semi’s ….
  14. A few quid but the BSPL didn’t even bring a trophy, they forgot , the club had to produce one from behind the bar.
  15. More moaning…and it hadn’t even started.
  16. As no tyres were changed during the meeting you will have find something else to moan about.
  17. Redcar is council owned and part of a motorsports park.
  18. Same as always ….a set fee sliding scale depending where they finish with the winner just about making enough to buy his mechanic a bag of chips on the way home.
  19. I have, he is hugely out of pocket but, like most promoters , in it for the long haul. I wish him all the best as he has produced a wonderful facility and can now get some of his investment back.
  20. Why would any businessman want to do that with the sport in its current state ? it would take years of good crowds to even come near getting your investment back , assuming you could actually find anywhere suitable to build such a facility in or even near Poole.
  21. you could have listened to both team managers about gate positions being the most important part of the night before typing such a comment , so try reading the gate positions and working out who had 1 & 3 in those heats and why Bears got the vital 1-5 in heat 14.
  22. Whilst he’s back riding bikes he’s had to have a number of operations on his injuries and it sadly seems his UK speedway days are over .
  23. Some of the clubs do promote , they have their own Facebook groups/page but please remember the team managers have a lot on their plates trying to run the teams , perhaps the ‘ league co-ordinator’ could do more ? but promote what ? Those involved seem to know what’s going on and it’s never going to attract a crowd on its own two feet, it’s a junior league followed by family, friends and the die hards who stop back to watch the extra races. It’s a great league with a long history, but like the rest of the sport, it is really struggling this year.
  24. Of course it does, it’s their business that’s at stake , we have known that for donkeys years.
