Redcar v Glasgow KOC (1st leg)
Fortythirtyeight replied to SuperBear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Slightly better than sacking a rider by text after he'd spent money on bikes and before even getting a ride. -
From the matches I have seen the lad has some talent just lacks consistency . Certainly has a very high average around Redcar and around +2 away from there. He can certainly gate but has to accept that if you score zero ,zero then he is likely to get dropped from his next ride and not to throw his toys out of the pram and demand a move. Definetly worse number sevens around than Mr.Smith and I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a call from one or two other northern tracks.

Redcar v Glasgow KOC (1st leg)
Fortythirtyeight replied to SuperBear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Seem to recall the Redcar Promoter(s) being called names for telling a rider he was going to be replaced ( Richard Hall ) before his last match and now people complaining for NOT fore warning a rider he was being replaced. Can't please all of the people all of the time. -
There isn't now so again, why double your costs?
-
So the club must pay for TWO paramedics and TWO ambulances, just in case? Get realistic. Clubs are heamoriging money left right and centre so they are not going to double their costs, just in case! There are one or two clubs who have fans who are medics so they may not charge the club for their services and a couple of clubs have purchased 3rd hand ambulances so they don't have to rent one in but it's the usual thing that matters....MONEY!

Yes, I have been to Newcastle many times over the years. Your track stuff do a marvellous job under the circumstances they have to work under and they produce the best track they can. It's the shape that makes it awful and it does not produce good ' racing ' Again YES those tracks were purpose built , hence they DO produce the best racing. -

Whilst it has been improved its still the wrong shape. Dissapointing considering it was purpose built. Similar to Newcastle in that the straights are too long for the corners not giving varied lines for entry or exits to corners. Doesnt produce great racing but better than some depending how the track has been prepared as it does vary for some strange reason. Rates well below Belle Vue, Scunthorpe, Redcar, Somerset ( when not doctored) but currently rates above Poole, Newcastle, Edinburgh, -
These ' decisions ' can be made by one individual on the management team. If that individual happens to have a vested interest in the result then he makes his decision accordingly. Has happened many times recently with those on the top table benefitting . One club can cancel a fixture as its not good business sense to run when riders are unavailable, another club gets threatened with fines for wanting to do the very same. A club gets granted a facility for a missing rider when there is no facility in the rule book, another club gets denied it. Several clubs apply to run on a certan evening but only the maagement teams clubs get to run that night and the others suffer the consequences. it goes on and on. Only an independent ' Ruler ' with no connection to any existing club will put a stops this. Why can't the Auto Cycle Uion run the sport?

How long is a pice of string? Different companies charge different prices. Our local ' Medics ' charge £300 for a ' Paramedic ' per 2 hour stint, that's one individual, no extra ' ambulance'. -

Recycling. Theres a few of us tried to pass on complete collections of Stars and Mails but those that say they want them never make an effort to collect so save your time and space and recycle them. -

As its a urine sample the 'breath' side does not come into play. -
Not all Danish riders ride in the Danish league. We already have two Danes riding for us on Fridays. One Anderssen doesn't have a regular team spot . This sort of gossip just upsets riders and agitates fans, but then that seems to be the norm on hear. If you want a counter rumour, look up the name of the Czech rider practising at Redcar yesterday and speaking at length with one of the management. He was being given preferential treatment and pitted against the quickest riders there. . There you go, that's how rumours start! Rather wait for official announcements myself .

Says who? getting your Andersons mixed up with your Anderssens? or just more rumours.

' most of their rides '...I think not. Whilst they have occasionally over stepped the mark in overtaking manoeuvres with rash decisions they would certainly not have lasted this long in the sport if they were constantly out of control, particularly Barker. whilst you might not like them give them a little bit of credit for their ( sometimes flawed ) talents. -

Thank you. Another case of the rule book being ignored by the officials concerned. whilst I realise it made no difference to the result and , yet again, the fans would have suffered, why do we bother with the rule book if it's just going to be ignored when it suits ? -

No....it's simply a rider not turning up!.... No facility for R/R. -

Read the rule book. A rider doesn't turn up with a team having been declared is classed as no facility situation. R/ R has to be applied for and approved as the missing riders absence has to be covered under the existing exemptions, leaving for a family crisis is not covered. You can't change your declaration at the last minute to suit. but obviously they did! -

Referees have a history of not knowing all the rules. A ref was informed of a rule infringement at one of last nights fixtures, his reply was ' oh let's just get on with it, time is dragging on and he won't win the race anyway !" I asked two promoters today there understanding of the situation and both said the rule book states no facility for R/R. -

Don't really believe it but the question still stands. I can't see why they were allowed R/R ? -

Question on the rules regarding Howarth not actually taking the guest booking. How can Edinburgh be allowed to use the R/R facility when a rider fails to take his place at the last minute for a non speedway incident? ( Family emergency) Cant find a reason they should have been allowed R/ R , should it not have been a no facility situation and therefore only the reserves allowed to cover his absence? answers on a postcard please. -
Now Done electronically Dave, and the BSPA do not read them, only the press office ( Mr.Perason's boys ) so they can pinch stories for the S/S or Speedway GB website.

Somerset V Redcar (Champ) 26/06/19
Fortythirtyeight replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The reason Wright didn't make the 2 mins was because he was wanting to change his tyre as, due to the track conditions, his was wrecked . Smith was still repairing his bike after being taken off and the ref would not give any extra time to either rider for repairs despite Wright having two on the trot. Apparently it got heated in the pits with the ref as he eventually allowed riders ( from both teams ) to use ' spare worn ' tyres as track conditions had worn out most edges. He only did this after heat 12 and excluding Wright hence him not going off 15 m as he wasn't allowed to replace his tyre. Track doctoring at its best? Somerset will claim their tactics on track prep worked as they won but not a great spectacle. By the way, the ref has no say on intervals, that's down to the home management. -
Only the Top table meet every month and even then it can be just three of them , the other promoters just get minutes of the meeting a month later. The promoters only get together when summonsed . The top table have been caught out making behind closed decisions on several previous occasions, ask the ' Ged Father '.
