Poole Vs Redcar BSN SF 1st leg 17th May
Fortythirtyeight replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Under the new rules a No.8 can replace ANY rider in any heat but cannot be used in heat 15, the reason for which is only known to the person who made up the rule. -
5+1 at B’Ham including a race win, would have scored at Oxford but for an EF, same at Berwick where it would have been a paid four. Just because he lacks track craft doesn’t mean he lacks speed. Give the guy a break, he’s on a 2 point average, what do you expect !?!?.

Do you sack ‘em merchants every stop ! Give the lads a chance, how are the youngsters supposed to improve if they aren't given team spots ? Charles Wright is a prime example !

The facility ends when he declares himself fit to race, there’s no time limit on it, it’s a genuine illness unlike the Kennet scenario last year. He will want to race to earn some cash as it’s his full time job. The club will stick by him and the other riders who are still finding their feet as, unlike some of the keyboard warriors on here, the club show patience as the season isn’t going too bad….through in the K O cup, through in the Micky mouse cup and a first away win at Edinburgh in 10 years!

REDCAR CUBS V BIRMINGHAM BULLS
Fortythirtyeight replied to Speedway fan's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Nonsensical way of scoring. Just ignore Muffs points like he wasn’t there, promote everyone up a position in his races and get a proper score instead of making it look like 9 points went missing , which they didn’t .- 1 reply

Nora Speedway
Fortythirtyeight replied to Rob Dyer's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
If they were Nora events , Nora would provide their own staff, medics and Insurance but that is not the case for the ‘ British Amateur League ‘ as these events are called and Yes, they include Hull and Boston in their 4 team tournaments. AMSA and Redcar have also taken part in the recent past so it can be assumed that Richard ( a top guy by the way ) runs the events under the standard SCB permits, which is the norm at tracks who run amateur events and practices. -
Redcar Cubs v Birmingham Bulls
Fortythirtyeight replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
But there isn’t an MDL….it’s Birmingham and REDCAR , who are in the NORTH, so they have changed what the MDL does because it hasn’t worked! -

Redcar Cubs v Birmingham Bulls

Which is the wrong way to do it and makes it look like a load of points have gone missing. If a rider is ineligible and wins three races, your penalising the rider who finishes second each time when actually he’s WON the races and you’ve taken 3 points off him. Just ignore anything the ineligible rider scores and promote up each rider behind him, simples ! or even better….don’t use an ineligible rider ! Theres a reason the MDL is virtually dead and the NJL has been running for 13 consecutive years, get with the times, get 125 kids involved, there’s so many about now the BYC class is having to be split into separate rounds ! -
Lifted from Redcar Cubs page…. Cubs went down with a fight last night finally succumbing to a last heat 1-5 to lose 15-19 to the Birmingham Ductair Bulls . The Bulls fielded Luke Muff who’s points would not count as his NDL average is too high for the MDL rules so they were left with a three rider team but a strong one at that and it was an entertaining six heats. The Cubs suffered some mechanical gremlins with both Captain Katie and Dayle Wood having issues, major in Katie’s case , but it was good to see Edfell completing all of his races and top scoring as a result. Alex still looks rusty from the starts but chipped in with supporting points. Dayle Wood 5 Katie Gordon zero Alex Goldie 3+2. Edward Davison 7. Luke Muff points Did Not Count ( 9 max ) Tim Colley 7+1 Jason Garrad 9 max. Jacob Fellows 3.

Oxford Vs Redcar (league) 3rd May

2 ways to become an asset. You get ‘ signed ‘ or you ride enough matches for the club to be automatically an asset. -
Oxford Vs Redcar (league) 3rd May
Fortythirtyeight replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Riders are self employed. Being a club ‘ asset ‘ means nothing other than the owning club can charge another club a loan fee, a fee hundred quid, if he’s used by another club. As a self employed rider he will look for the best deal he can get , anywhere !, the rider will talk to other promoters before the season has ended to sound out his options for the next season. Doesn’t matter if his parent club want him, he will still go where he wants as the asset system has no legal standing and is only there so that the BSPL can reclaim some money if a club folds by ‘selling on’ that asset. Promoters do exactly the same, sound out a rider before ‘officially’ approaching his owning club. There is a policy, it is ignored by all except brand new promoters till they have learnt the game. Redcar have had a number of new promoters since the Havelock days and each has had to learn the hard way how the inner workings of the sport actually function. Yes, they have been hard done by on a number of occasions by the ‘old school’ who run the sport but you calling Oxford promoters names isn’t on, they did what is good for their business and what all other promoters do, nothing more. Just be thankful you have a club to support who have a fantastic race track and an enthusiastic management team. -

As Ive stated, you have absolutely no idea how this sport has been run for donkeys years, and you moaning about it isn’t going to change things. I pay my money , home and away and have done since 1972 , nothings changed in all that time when it comes to the running of the sport. -

Think you need to grow up. The Oxford promotion are far from that ridiculous comment and are showing the way forward in very difficult times for the sport. Tapping up ? It happens all the time, in every sport and more so in speedway. Who’s going to sanction anybody when it’s done by absolutely all of them from the top down, it always has done since the sport started. -
Oxford Vs Redcar (league) 3rd May
Fortythirtyeight replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oxford thoroughly deserved their win , good solid points scoring throughout as opposed to the Bears but not a very entertaining meeting which was very disappointing as the track shouldn’t be prepared to stop the opposition , which was clearly the tactic by only watering the last six feet by the fence despite it being as dusty as a nomads pockets. Track ‘ grading ‘ took an age due to using the same driver/ promoter to use both vehicles then add in an interval , it did drag on after the late start. Still, an impressive home win and a very , very good crowd, Oxford are a certain play off team and Atkins and Jenkins very impressive British youngsters. -

Three new riders trying to get used to a knew home track, let’s give them a bit of time. The away match at Birmingham showed they can score points, especially Jake Mulford, so let’s be patient. The Redcar track hasn’t been the same consistency two matches running due to the weather and length of time between home meetings so is difficult for newbies to get a perfect setting. Mulford has shown speed in every race he just lacks track craft as he’s still a novice at this level. Redcar are a patient club and will give the youngsters time to grow, unlike some, and good on them for it. -
