  1. Teams so far announced: Teams for 2025 are as follows – Ashfield – (Squad) Kieran Douglas, Caydin Martin, Stene Pijper, Rhys Harrow, Ella Marshall and Douglas Marshall Berwick – Mark Parker, Owen Booth, 125cc riders TBC Redcar – Katie Gordon, Dan McTeer, Seb Kelly and Jessica Cox West Lothian – Lee Harrison, Liam Greens, Lewis Hague and Callum Hague Workington – Ben Rathbone, Laylen Richardson, Charlie Luckman and Reuben Marsh Good to see some new names, disappointing to see some very experienced names. 500 races should be interesting for most clubs with newbies against well established NDL riders but cant see Redcar getting many race wins. Think Ashfield might get the title they were robbed of but Workington will be strong too. Berwick have 2 good 500’s but cant name any 125’s? The SCB ( Mr. Vatcher ) running the league again ?
  2. Looks like your a bit touchy and having a go at the wrong guy. Been to Leicester many times but not great for pure racing, such a disappointment for a purpose built track but at least they are making the most of the facility and its good they have NDL as well.
  3. and thats got nothing to do with this thread which is about Middlesbrough !
  4. Fare point but still think 3pm Saturdays are a poor choice.
  5. Disappointed and confused with the fixture list just released as all but one are to be held on a Saturday afternoon. Disappointed as I work Saturdays so will miss them. Confused as theres so many blank Friday nights why couldn't they be used ? Crowds were very good last season on Fridays and I dont see Saturdays attracting the same levels.
  6. So other than suggesting you know something the majority don't know ( good for you ), your suggesting Riss is no longer a Bear and Pijper is moving into the main body of the team ? which, if true, severely weakens the side.
  7. Then a pointless gesture as he would still be acting as a TM, as Havvy said, rules are easily broken, if you know how.
  8. Sign of the times as it looks like all teams are struggling to put a team together with Redcar having to name a rider on a 125 whos never even been in a race never mind a team ( but good luck to Seb ) . Disappointing to see Douglas still in the NJL after around 4 or 5 years hanging around the NDL but if he still wants to ride and nobody in the NDL/ NTL(?) wants to use him I suppose thats his only option.
  9. But did he remove him from the pits then ?
  10. A club can sign as many riders as it likes but can only field seven. A certain very northern club used to sign around 12, then find out the points limit , and slowly release the excess by telling them “ it’s a points thing “. That way they got the pick early on as other interested clubs got told by riders “I’ve already signed for someone else “ but were sworn to secrecy. Great tactic, till another , very southern club , copied it.
  11. As Havvy revealed in the S/Star…..there is a way around the rules , if you look hard enough ….’ Team Coach ‘ 😂
  12. So it needs a bit of planning but surely its not too much to ask to at least have home fixtures every fortnight ? That way you can cater for the other Friday night teams and fans get a regular race night and still fit the NDL fixtures in.
  13. Why would anybody involved in speedway be given a nationally recognised award for a sport thats been going down the toilet for years ? Whilst certain individuals have given their all within the sport, the likes of Woffinden , not only with 3 world titles but also his charity efforts , Harris, Nicholls etc, they get large financial rewards for it and , lets face it, no one outside of speedway has ever heard of any of them .
  14. Having seen the new fixture list it looks like home matches in May , June and July are as rare as Poole defeats ! Twenty plus days gaps between fixtures ? Hope they fill these with REGULAR FRIDAY Tigers fixtures or they will lose fans.
  15. Speedway GB is an independent business. The BSPL sold the ‘rights’ to it around 2018 as they needed to save costs so they will be self sufficient.
  16. So he was disappointed a rider changed his mind and then he lets a rider go who he had told had a team place ? if true, it works both ways….
  17. Whilst the new split version is certainly questionable from the point of view of using, primarily, the same riders I dont see how you can call it a ‘closed shop’. If a club wants to enter the NDL and can fit a full seasons fixtures in ( which isnt a lot ) then they can enter!
  18. Should make the play offs then
  19. Exactly ! Workington never said they were in ! The BSPL press release ( which Godfrey is head of ) said they were and now blames them for their hesitation when they never ever said they were in having been told , falsely, that other teams would be joining including a certain club in the north. What you read between the lines is your issue, Workington have never said anything so don't insinuate that its their fault.
  20. and you think Godfrey is going to accept blame for the situation ? Workington were mislead on the makeup of the ‘league’ and so took time in considering their options waiting to see if the other suggested team(s) were actually going to join but now someone else has been persuaded to join in so all is right in the speedway world, but you can keep blaming Workington if you wish.
  21. As always you are just fishing for a bite, how sad.
  22. As predicted Workington were not going to take part once they found out the true composition of the ‘ Trophy League ‘. The former Redcar Cubs manager , Kevin Kay, proposed a NJL level mini grand prix series with individual riders competing at each track in full 5 ride meetings to include 125, 250 and 500 levels and a mini version for second halfs to replace the struggling NJL team league as they were struggling to fill the team places but it hasnt been taken up. The kids need something like this and on a regular basis to give them more track time.
  23. You know they did and you also know the promoter paid for it himself, it wasnt a ‘prize’.
  24. Rumour is you can possibly replace the word ‘ Workington ‘ with the word ‘ Mildensomething or other ‘, possibly.
  25. Which Kent can’t do as their riders already ride for the opposition. But you are entitled to your opinion.
