Big decisions in November.
Speedtiger replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Speedway needs a radical and ruthless overhaul and a huge financial investment to rebrand and relaunch the sport....not tinkering and fiddled about with averages and one over 8, helmet cover colours, gardening at the tapes etc etc. they've done this and dumbed down the sport for a decade or too in a race to the bottom! Will things change? NO to late as sadly the sport has been driven over a cliff by clueless promoters, speedway is bust and I fear there’s no way back. The people running the sport have proved, as if fans didn’t no, that they do not have the capability! -
Yes Chris L is a smart chap. With any luck busters has been cleaned out and he gives up and go back to his cabbage patch KL and let in someone who knows what they are doing to run British speedway. I not holding me breath.

Big decisions in November.
Speedtiger replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agreed with both. The calibre of people running the show = Buster Godfrey & Co are tbh useless. They couldn’t run a bath. They have proved to be totally incompetent. And before someone says that’s harsh take a look at the state of our sport. It’s completely knackered. Anyone who is anyone wouldn’t touch Speedway with a 20’ barge pole. More pain to come for fans and clubs that’s for sure. -

Spot on Gunner. And will things change for next year...NO! Sadly the sport is in terminal decline....and there’s nothing they will or can do to save it. The future of british club speedway is bleak, very bleak. -

Sorry Steve but as a fan it seems like a disaster, making a Mickey Mouse cup final is no consolation. I disappointed and fed up. Missing out on top 4 is a serious disaster and will cost the club a lot of cash. The problem we have at BV is the management are weak and clueless, they have no drive and don’t seem to care, slow to react and change things when needed and they accept failure far too easily. There attitude is fans should think themselves lucky BV are running. That’s not good enough. They are too blame and should now be sacked and replaced. Take a leaf out of Poole Wolves Robins etc book! -

Well done Robins. Well we lost out again but who really cares about this MMC event anyway when some teams couldn’t be bothered to compete and lots of fans had little or no interest. Why? Because it had no credibility. Really needs a rethink for next season! -
Sidney the Stasi, My post didn’t even mention lemon? But I think you should take a look at where bv finished up this season and you will see my criticism of Lemo is more than justified. Also I pay my entrance ticket so I’m entitled as anybody to voice my opinions when I’m disappointed. So no I won’t stay away!
-
Better result than expected at one stage. Given the rain we had it was lucky to be on. Not sure if 8 up will be enough at Robins. Bit of a dodgy cheating stuff with KB but nothing that hasn’t been done by others in the past. People in glass houses etc..! Tbh I’m not a big fan of this MMC comp and the odd rules. And judging by the poor attendance others thought the same and stayed away. Still we might just get something from it, for what it’s worth?
-
The truth is poor management has cost us big time, they run the club and they are two blame! Win the KOC will bring in some cash but bv will be still losing a serious amount of money and the big worry is how long can that go on? The sport in general is falling apart and is in a dire financial state. Lots of clubs are up for sale with zero chance of finding buyers. Promoters will not keep bailing out clubs for fun with no future of things improving. What is the solution? I haven’t a clue, imo sadly things have gone to far now!
-
Geoff, in the sport of speedway it’s not worth the paper it’s written on...if he fails to perform he will be out! That’s the way they do it in Poland.
-
No one has a very long contract in Poland! If you fail you are out! That’s business! Clearly that doesnt apply in UK. Consistently fail as lemo and co has done and well give you another go. Strange. Imo let the colts managers have a go with the aces at least they know what they doing and have been successful.

Peterborough V Swindon Monday 9/9/19
Speedtiger replied to maneacat's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This is way to promote speedway..NOT...rubbish stadium that looks like its derelict & No crowd and a gate and go track...Kel and Shouty Nige will have there work cut out to big this one up! -
Sort of agree, but that’s the easy bit. A good TM then has to get the best out of the team and make changes when necessary. Just look at Adams, Roscoe and Middlo they are annoyingly brilliant at that. BV should have the ambition to be winners not failures. Time for a big clear out and that includes lemo.!
-
Every team has bad luck and good luck over a season “unlucky” is a poor excuse for failure. We have the best track and stadium in the UK and built what was a good competitive team!!! Our current league position and missing out of the top 4 play offs has now sadly proved that we have a weak clueless TM and a incompetent dithering management. They been in place and failed for 3 years now so imo it’s time to bring in a new TM and management that can promote and take the club forward. But dont hold your breath.

I’m still wondering and gutted as to how we managed to miss out on the top 4! The fans will miss out on exciting meetings and it is a massive financial blow for the club. Not getting to the finals will cost tens of thousands of pounds and loss this season will be telephone numbers again. I no it’s not just one thing that’s gone wrong and riders have not done the business so have to take some of the blame but there’s something not right at bv and there seems to be little or no ambition and a strange acceptance of failure. Falling crowds at bv and in speedway are a big problem and the way the sport is run is a joke but there no promotion of the club to fight back. Management seem slow to react to poor rider performances and incapable of attracting new improving replacements. Yes we need to change the team but should also seriously look at the way the club is run, which is very poor. Will that happen only time will tell?

Agree. I’m not being critical of Wolves as CVS runs a good stadium and credit where’s its due BUT Monmore is really a trick track and stadium good as it is...is not as good as NSS. -

CraigA. Tbh i don’t have a problem with Lemon and I talk as I see it, not rubbish, he’s just not moved the team and club on, now that is a fact. Too many many bv people on here dancing round the problem and happy for mediocre results. We should be winners not struggling to make the PO and I were hopeful Lemmo was the answer but not now, he’s proved he’s a poor manager who doesn’t know what he’s doing BUT I will be the first to say ok well done king Lemmo if he wins the league but don’t hold your breath I’m not baking a humble pie just yet. -

CraigA, I don’t have anything personal about Lemmo, just stating facts and some facts are very very harsh and it is a fact Lemon has blundered a number of times and he’s won nothing substantial. We must try someone else and imo I think screeny would be perfect. -

Ok but what’s he achieved at BV and with Oz....zippo, he’s a loser. -

I’m not a big fan of Lemon but that’s a bit harsh. He does make some amazing blunders since he was made bv manager and has defo cost the club serious number of points and league title. If bv are having a clear out of riders for next year, if there is a next year, imo they should also dump Lemon and get the Screenman in. Sure Joe would do it for the 40 grand Lemon is paid. -

Disappointing result but what do we expect with our key rider missing and riders still getting back from serious injuries and a rider unavoidably stuck in traffic? TBH we don’t seem to manage adversity very well. Touch and go now If we make the PO?
