  1. Totally agree, Sheffield belong in top flight and on a Thursday night and if they can build a solid side (using some Poole assets / riders) and current side they should thrive.
  2. is Kyle actually confirmed yet when no points limit, his parent Club (Poole) are possibly going CL, he used to ride for Plymouth and as a few pointed out at the time the Eastbourne announcement of Kerr and Kyle as subject to structure / points limit / parents club approval. To add to the intrigue isn't one of the Eastbourne Promoters moving to Plymouth? (seen it on a video somewhere on Facebook) Personally i'd love Kyle at Birmngham but read he did not enjoy his time at PB which was disappointing to read. I wish him well, far better rider than average indicates and nice chap.
  3. Barker ; Lawson ; Newman; Atkins + Morley Add in another Heat Leader and second string and that looks suspiciously like a CL Team in the making to me?? Ellis and Starke anyone?? 41.32 (very solid)
  4. Danyon certainly deserves a chance at CL level but I feel we must move quickly as will be a lot of Clubs after quality British reserves.
  5. Isn't Anders a Swindon asset? I would think occasional rides there and another season at Somerset would be ideal for him.
  6. Get rid of Quirke and Pearson please Awful David Rowe is not the answer though Alex Raby ??? would be a massive improvement.
  7. can't see that being the reason unless Eurosport deal gives every Club £100k each in which case Poole would not be moving down. Kent at 6.30pm on a Monday doesn't sit well with TV scheduling and Berwick are a Saturday track so are they going to risk that to run Monday/Thursday for what would be probably no more than 3-4 k TV money per home meeting?
  8. Thanks Mimmo. so he had 6 years off and seems to have just come back?
  9. Rowe and Flint for me most improved young riders this season and seem to have overtaken Kemp and Bickley (who is awful away from his home tracks in both Leagues). Thompsons' though have been a revelation and despite the hope have exceeded expectations, Palin is very capable spoiler too Who is Tom Young?, new name to me??
  10. i fear Adam is already committed to Denmark and Sweden (Tuesday and Wednesday) and that Harris + Garrity are part of a stronger top 4 without the out and out number 1. I don't think Adam will ride CL this season as he decided not to last winter and only came in as less Polish meetings than he anticipated.
  11. not Covatti although he does know the potential new signing very well as they often bomb round the track together!
  12. If what I have heard is true as signings go it's a "bit of a dambuster"...and thanks largely to Laurence!
  13. Don't think Adam will return sadly as I think he will ride Sweden and Denmark Wouldn't be surprised to see a top name to replace him though as he would have been on decent money coming in mid season.
  14. I think most of the team that finished the season with a change in reserve (Kemp or Stoneman) and a change at 1 (Adam will do Denmark) coming in I would punt one of the veterans either Scotty or Bomber - Scotty to get a midweek track to make TV easier on a Saturday or Bomber to get nearer to his new base in East Midlands/Anglia.
  15. I think 90-100 minutes when no major incidents/accidents is par for the Course with a proper presentation and some interviews and insights between races. 50 minutes would leave me feeling robbed to be honest (unless mitigating circumstances like heavy rain on the way) and anything over 2 hours is just too long (for me). Second halves / MDL is down to personal choice to wait for and watch some do / some don't - I do. Kids races before main Event which a few do is a complete no-no for me, as spoils the build up.
  16. I'd have Ash back, was really finding form when injured and I think a very decent second string with a full and injury free season. Hopefully Shanesy will be back fully fit come April.
  17. Always think of Jon Cook as the main man at Arlington? Isn't he the Head of Speedway there? Sorry if not up to speed. Agree with the post about presenter there (Kevin Coombes) is excellent.
  18. just / yes / yes Brummies moving up with a makeshift initial team and it was a struggle. From mid season with Adam / Jason and Tero we had some great racing, great atmosphere and a sign of what could be, Shanes was great to watch all season. I enjoyed my season immensely and visited many tracks, saw some big (by modern standards) crowds at Glasgow; Leicester and Eastbourne and saw some great racing at Redcar and Somerset. I just sense the old guard are being replaced by some innovators and thinkers, in the NL Bishop, in the CL the Facenas at Glasgow / Duffill at Redcar/ Cook at Eastbourne / Leicester reinvigorated by Dickson and arrival of Scott Nicholls, in the PL Kilby + Rossiter and the new Swindon track / Smith at BV / Ipswich improvements off track and racing on it.
  19. one CL team up and one team PL team down plus Kent up seems most likely PL next season. That makes 8 which is all Buster wants! - especially if he buys in to Sheffield he owns 1/2 the League and 1/2 the TV pot!
  20. At least one well informed person I know thinks Connor Dugard will be back in NDL next season with either Eastbourne dropping back down or 2 Leagues or possibly at Rye House if that takes off as he planned to move there last winter.
  21. Birmingham ROTY - Jason Garrity Visitor - Erik Riss Surprise - Tom Brennan / Nathan Stoneman
  22. great on paper. in reality do I want to watch an NDL reserve or 2nd string racing v Jason Doyle and Nils Kristian Iversen er Nope!
  23. not ndl but think brummies have 5-6 signed and pretty much announced (at our end of season bash) last week. i think in social media age it's more of a hands off warning and waiting until after agm can be too late. of course if you announce and then change league or promotion you do look a bit daft!
  24. The tight ship Jane Moss ran would may be only need 50 diehards from Stoke and a bit of sponsorship to make it viable as a combined venture. If all other NDL Clubs could then be persuaded to stay in NDL and possibly add Rye House then you have a League and any NDL right now is to be welcomed. I know Brummies are committed to CL for 2020 but what about a few other clubs rumoured to be struggling in CL or ex NDL Clubs moving back? Have likes of Newcastle and Eastbourne committed to CL yet? Let's not give up on NDL! It's the future after all!
