Going to be a mad frenzy for Scotty. Could the Brummies possibly fit in Scott and Bomber? Likely South Coast I'd imagine, Poole ; Eastbourne ; Kent in that order...???
-
in the last peak late 70's / early 80's it was for a while 2nd to soccer, a very poor 2nd, but that was b4 professional Rugby Union, the advent of T20 Cricket and Sunday/Evening horse Racing targetted at families and at a time when Dog Racing was a lot more popular too.

NDL motto should be "it aint over til the fat lady sings". Can be a good product with 8 Teams and no certainty that Kent and Plymouth will be in CL or won't run CL and NDL as both said they may do and if Colts and Cubs return with Mildenhall and IOW only needs Buston/Stoke and one other rumoured collaboration between Scunny/Sheffield and you have 8 sides

Birmingham Brummies 2020
HGould replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'm as sure of Ashley as I was with Bomber, hopefully so! -
Facebook says Ian Smalley? Question is very clear "With a purely hypothetical average points limit of 40 points, what Riders would you most like us to retain / most like us to sign for 2020?" Nice isea though, more Clubs should do this, I know Redcar have.

hearing Ashley Morris is a definite for 2020. -
got to think Kennett ; Kemp ; Jenkins will be 3 of them? possibly a marquee name like Scott Nicholls? / Danny King? Ben Morley / Alfie Bowtell / Georgie Wood / Spiller brothers- if Eastbourne don't want them in 2020? Is Gilkes ready for a step up? Depends too on what old assets Len holds from previous Clubs. Lot's of second string / reserve options will need some imports to bolster I'd say Kennett + 2 heat leaders (King and Nicholls??) Morley and Wood as 2nd strings Kemp at reserve with Jenkins or Gilkes

He's not going to Poole though is he

Not sure who i going to replace Rasmus who could have the season he's had, who is available and would fit average wise other than someone on that list or already contracted somewhere else. Lawson seemed cagey in recent Speedway Star interview as if he had a move eyed up and is Glasgow asset, King said in this weeks SS he is looking for a Championship Club, Wells has indicated he is moving and Morris and Summers seem to be linked with various Clubs. Who would you want outside of that list Foamfence?
-
So who replaces Rasmus? Richard Lawson? Ricky Wells? Aaron Summers? Danny King? Nick Morris?

Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?
HGould replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
complete twaddle. If you're good enough, you're old enough. NDL likely to reduce is quality and quantity, he could double down anyway, let him race older more experienced riders and he will learn quicker. Didn't do Peter Collins and Michael Lee any harm did it?? -
Championship League Team Points Limit
HGould replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
if it was/is 41 why would you reduce for extra teams. All that does is make second strings redundant and forces too many 2 pointers in to reserve. Best to increase limit to 44 or 45 allows all the available heat leaders and second strings to be included and add a rule each side has to run a 2 point reserve at 7. That's fairer. -
Pre AGM for PL/CL was end of September No Pre AGM for NDL yet held.

New Owners (indirectly) are the infamous Barclay brothers, right wing hoodlums of the worst kind and apparently now selling assets to cover £500m black hole in their various UK businesses according to FT! They own Arena Leisure. -
I was most impressed with Brennan when he came to Perry Barr before his accident. Wish him well although I don't think it's any surprise Eastbourne have taken him on again as that average will have scared a few off after such a bad injury. A noble gesture by the Eagles though at a time when many clubs churn riders in and out for fun. (Brummies included)

Is there any prospect of Workington returning in 2020 or 2021? Be great if they did at recent or new venue.
-
Not sure where the "only one rider above 8.00 GSA comes from as if you count the number in CL there are currently 17 and if 11-12 teams that's 5 or 6 out of a job! I agree and think Scott may move on and may be Poole or Eastbourne a bit closer to his home base? Read Lawsons comments in Speedway Star last week and seems he might be on the move again in CL and possibly PL?, Glasgow might want him back and Leicester would suit his Midlands base? Lawson for Scott, Worrall and Douglas would be a formidable top 3.

Kent have a nice Stand it's rarely more than 1/3rd full. Kent have an awful track that could, if realigned to use available space better be an excellent track. Kent have a major problem with a 2 hour curfew and as a result have run NDL to find ways of best getting round that restriction and credit to them for that. To suggest Central Park is ready for FIM approval and GP Qualifiers on basis of one Stand never fully utilised and awful access issues from North and every other direction is frankly very amusing May be look at Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Kings Lynn; Ipswich, Peterborough (probably others) who have "big Stands" and in many cases far better race tracks and infrastructure. Sorry I forgot Berwick..(big stand!)
-
May be unfair to point blame at the Club but more the Media Partner of the Club Have had cause to bemoan similar at Birmingham this season, same provider!!!. I think that provider was once excellent but now comes over as complacent and lazy. Those Clubs with their own provision like Glasgow / Edinburgh / Berwick / Eastbourne seem to be way ahead in innovation and content.
-
Would have thought Leicester and Wolves very keen to retain Ryan Douglas and both very accessible from Swindon!! Scotty to Poole looks a much better fit if he leaves Leicester especially as would fit in better with his BT Sport SGP commitments on a Saturday night that would rule Eastbourne out.
-
Hopefully half right as Broc would suit Brummies perfectly. Great to see Sheffield back in top level Speedway.

Think you'll have an "Ellis" but it won't be Perks??...
