Clue was on the club social media. Online Ticket sales close at 10am. -
Kent Kings v Glasgow Tigers 8/6/21 @6.30 pm
HGould replied to blueherb777's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So they had Nicol in for Heeps as he's in the 1 to 5. Thomas was a Rising Star Guest as Gilkes is designated Rising Star. If Rising Star and one of top 5 missing you can have 2 Guests If 2 missing in top 5 you have to have a Guest and an RR. -

Can't see anything other than an Away Win. Only advantage Kent have is their Home Track which a few of the Kent Team (especially the reserves) know well with it's strange off cambers and the ability of Len to water the blue groove at every opportunity, as us Brummies found a few times in NDL. Kent will do well to get within 10 points of the Glasgow machine. Tac subs and reserve rides will no doubt keep them in it. Once Gilkes steps in to top 5 and Hurry down to reserve it'll be an even bigger struggle. No doubt Len will be counting the coppers though with the positive "first season" vibe. Hopefully for the benefit of the Sport the dreaded curfew won't be an issue. -
Wolves v Sheffield 7th June 2021
HGould replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm no fan of Wolves or Monmore green but such comments are incorrect and bordering on arrogance. The UK benefits from all types of tracks from 200 metres up to 440 metres. Seeing every race by the guy with the fastest engine who sits on the dirt line is no more exciting / no less boring than seeing a technician on a bike mastering a smaller more technical circuit -
EASTBOURNE V EDINBURGH June 12th
HGould replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Starke would be inegible under 7 day rule. Knight said in speedway star a while he was going to do NDL only as got a really good job and not interested in Championship unless an incredibly good offer came along. Would imagine a Guest booking on a Saturday at home track would be perfect for him. Be very surprised if he wasn't asked for Scunthorpe by Eagles management -
EASTBOURNE V KENT K O CUP 6th June
HGould replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tom Bacon has a sore shoulder it's been documented several times in past week. Maybe they thought having a Guest for Heeps, who has a similar sore shoulder would be a tactical masterstroke, especially as Nicol usually rides like a no 1 round there? -
Scunthorpe v Eastbourne 4th June

May be one for the Referee that; if 2 riders have ridden in same meeting and one gets back and the other can't be bothered....might spice things up a bit!! -
Surprised Seagulls did so well without Atkins, he was the guy every team would have wanted and Seagulls would have wiped up 2 toughest Away matches with him in side and probably the League. Looks like a very competitive League though now, anyone could win it, literally anyone. Surprised Gilkes didn't join Eastbourne for previous Promoters, he rode there every week for Reading in MSDL.
-
Think Royals will win this comfortably. Losing Atkins is massive blow and would have been closer with him but still a Royals win 52 - 38 Home win

Was not there but if speedway updates right results gate 3 was actually easily highest winning gate percentage -
Glasgow v Kent Friday 21 May 2021- live stream

Not the reason stated. Standing joke at Berwick last night about Hurry RR Relatives important birthday allegedly. -
Brummies asked Berwick to change the date Berwick declined. How do you suppose Brummies or Berwick could have known Etheridge was going to get injured in his first ride. Sour grapes from you and an own goal from Berwick, who could have easily just put on the NDL match Nothing to do with professionalism of the sport at all.

Greaves / Palm - Toft / Lawson / Ash Morris / Bomber added to the 7 Wolves riders.
-
what's the chances the Track will be soaked by rain and the Fixture will be called off early?.. weather looks very bad for a lot of tracks this week. typical start of speedway season weather.
-
my point exactly...75 minutes maximum for Riders to prepare for the start and Staff in the Pits to be organised equals regularly late starts. Never mentioned the actual track. Brummies don't have "new owners" the current ones have been there for quite a while, they have moved in to Kent, may be you are getting confused?
-
It's a problem at Monbore...mainly because due to Dog Meeting on a Monday afternoon the Speedway is locked out until around 6.15pm. Most tracks including Brummies try to start very punctually and certainly a lot more so since Masons / Rogers took over PB.
-
This has already been explained countless times. The Greyhound Stadium Owners stopped some Security a while ago. ARC may be familiar soon to Kent Speedway fans. You've been warned! Damage has been almost all to vehicles and equipment NOT buildings The age and unique nature of some of the vehicles made them un-insurable or only at a cost that was probably more than their market valuation. Their value to Speedway was incalculable as key machinery adapted for the Track. The surrounds of the Stadium site are part of Commonwealth Games 2022 regeneration and preparation. A significant number of Travellers have taken advantage of the general situation and moved on to illegal sites being developed in the area. The damage to key vehicles was mindless vandalism.

Newcastle, Plymouth, Eastbourne been selling tickets for a while. Online only looks like you print your ticket, show it on a phone or take ID. All Clubs saying things might change after 21 June
-
Maybe Goddens have found the perfect Central Park Engine. Quick to warm up, great on concrete for the first 3 rides, drives off an adverse camber and then great on over-watered blue tarmac and cuts out automatically after 2 hours
-
Big thumbs up to Laurence and the other 2 Clubs who are keeping this League alive. The issue of "dormant Clubs" is not the fault of Laurence and we are lucky at Perry Barr to at least have some junior racing to watch.
-
Since ARC took over Perry Barr not seen anything much different other than evidence of some sections of Grandstand being closed down to Speedway and rumours of increased rent and less access time. It's more than likely that there will be more Dog Racing at Central Park in future as that increases revenue for Stadium via Betting levy and probably means Kent will soon find that Speedway is limited to one set day per week or like somewhere like Monmore (not ARC) a Dog meeting on an afternoon before Speedway on a night. The other issue is that Len is approaching 90, Cearns has always been mega supportive and there is the issue of the loss of Silver Ski in administration. Doesn't look great long term unless Len has a succession plan for his son or another Promoter to follow in his footsteps. The failure to secure Friday or Saturday night Speedway looks even less likely now. May be Kent can have one season in Championship and then revert back to standalone NDL with less costs and profit every season as Len has always claimed.
-
Not much change out of 30k for an air fence for track that size I'd have thought, hopefully floodlights could be configured to track with a few extra lights.. Starting gates aplenty probably lying round
-
Will be interesting to see final averages as other riders who have not ridden for a few years not given any reduction. Bridger 6.59 and Knight 8.83 last rode in 2017 as an example seem to be on same in respective Leagues for 2021. JPB and Compton both rode in 2017 ending 8.66 and 6.52 respectively, but can't fit under 35 on those averages?
-
Would seem to be an excellent opportunity for a new Promotion Team to go in there and make it pay on Gate Receipts and Sponsorship paying Rent to the Hancock family. Plenty of scope to run a successful Championship level business from there for someone or a group of people.

I think you're all missing the point a bit. Covid Passports are being tested for "large scale events" Crowds of 10-20,000 or more. They are an option being considered as an interim measure. Government have acknowledged that the technology is unlikely to be available before Autumn. I think they are aiming more at start of 2021/2022 soccer season in August. More likely for Villa / Albion / Blues / Wolves than Solihull Moors / Kidderminster Harriers and no League Clubs. Covid Passports may replace SOCIAL DISTANCING that is what will limit Crowds and make them all Ticket initially. Stadium Capacity will be calculated on Social Distancing and space available outside and inside until mid summer at least. All Sports Clubs will have to know how many are there and not over the limit. As for Pubs, many will end up letting in only regulars or via Track and Trace like we all used last summer.
