Track record in heat 15. Thats some track preparation to have track that fast in last heat. Well done all concerned.
-
Exactly my point is exactly that. Almost all can ride to score rather than protect average
-
Guest scores don't count in GSA
-
Re Averages On basis Plymouth have 2 Guests, 2 short term reserve guests, RR and Morley plus Hans who rumours suggest may be retiring from UK speedway surely they've nothing to lose and some decent points money to earn.
-
This is where the lack of brain cells on the management committee becomes so evident. 10 teams requiring 70 riders I can see 38 or 39 points working 8 teams (no Lions or Monarchs) requires 56 riders. IF the limit is too low it'll end up with a host of 5 to 7 point riders on the shelf and a host of poor and unprepared riders on 2 points rushed in to fit the limit. Surely they will need to look at available riders from top to bottom and then reset a limit to match number required with any surplus at the bottom of the average scale not in the middle. That way you build quality and incentiise those lower down to improve. You then assess ndl the same way so that those not in CL fill NDL and reduce NDL options for those who've milked it for too long.. Clegg, Morley etc

Gilkes may have wunderlust. He surely needs to be setting roots. Wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't Oxford or Birmingham. Bowtell and Morley have definitely improved and would be logical in 5th and 6th places in the averages. Complin or Roynon would make a decent tail, I suspect Lee will be very sought after and elsewhere. Barker should be a shoe in. Depends who they might get out of Edinburgh or Leicester. Richie Worrall seems to like the place. If MPT can get fit he'd make a good 3rd heat leader with Barker. A decent 4th rider would be key signing, may be Kye Thomson? R Worrall B Barker MPT Kye Thomson A Bowtell A Roynon (Morley may not fit if 42 limit. They'd have around 3.67 to play with) L Complin Thats why Complin instead of Morley would be a great signing for them.

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)

Couple of solid options for Lions could be Nicholls and Lawson. Nicholls did a great job there in CL. Track would suit him more than Peterborough and a nice average. Lawson always rated by Dickson and another who rides track well. His average has gone up in 22 but he may feel more secure there? Bates family ditched him just before 2021 season at Sheffield but reason for that now seems sorted. Would make a solid starting point Probable Connor Mountain would be a reserve pick too. -

Have read that Oxford were interested but CAN'T at moment as Dogs would need Stadium for Racing on Monday / Thursday and obiously TOTE income is fundamental to their business plan. Besides if they can attract 1500-2000 to CL and 500-800 to NDL on a Wednesday night why would they take a gamble. Glasgow rumoured to be considering, Poole won't go back up in what may be last season their Stadium in available and hard to see anyone else in CL taking such a move? 8-8 would be ideal, 7-9 is at least nearer the aim of 8-8 surely? -

Good luck to the Lions and their Promoters. It's a very professional set up and the Track has improved massively this year. I suspect a lot more focus from Dickson on the Track and fewer Training Days may be the reason as a lot of the Riders who used to flock there to train have been busy enough competitively. The Bates brothers will know all about PL costs from Sheffield and previous experience at Leicester. Their well thought out logic about rival attractions on a Saturday from SGP / Footy and Rugby make emminent sense actually, a very well supported Soccer Club and a lot of people forget the best supported Rugby Club in England on the doorstep. Thursday nights should work for them and they shouldn't have too much bother getting a competitive Team together - possibly a few big hitters too who aren't currently in PL. Some people will always knock and hate but it seems to be eminently sensible to me and good luck to them. It remains to be seen if Glasgow will bite the bullet and join them. An 8 Team PL and an 8 Team CL would seem a much better balance to me than the current 6 and 10. It may allow CL to be far fairer in terms of heat leader allocation rather than 2-3 Clubs mopping up disproportianate top end strength. Good that they will continue with the NDL too where they have some exciting 15-16 year olds starting to come through also. -
2023 will be last season for Peterborough hopefully they can find something for 24.Might be last season in 2023 for Poole unless something dramatic happens with Council and stadium. Hopefully Edinburgh back in 24. Brummies will run in 23 but will need much better crowds to get to 2024. Leicester will move up, Glasgow might move up to PL in 23. Only other change is hopefully Workington in to NDL but got to be doubts about Plymouth running in NDL though I'd guess with getting riders on a Tuesday at that level.
-
Hopefully Jubilee Cup will be one off final at a neutral venue as originally planned. Oxford would fit the bill if Sheffield can't fit it in. Re Presentations, guess they have to get donne b4 cry baby Brennan gets his van loaded again and leaves his team mates to it. Wouldn't be surprised if they flogged him to BV.
-
That makes it worse as it implies both knew and let the team down. He's 17 I believe not 15. Surely if he'd reached out to BV they could have arranged / would have arranged something. Understandable if team mates, most of whom don't have a CL income and opportunity like Ablitt, are rightly very upset.
-
Not too long ago he was blaming College and exams. BV is the best gig in the NDL for any young rider, not the kind of bridge you burn if you're professional and sensible.
-
Not denying that but Nigel Tolley getting a lot of credit for very prompt payments to riders.
-
Why not Brummies Connections with LR Certainly local to his base Midweek home meetings Track 100% better now than in 2021 season Whole vibe is positive. Heat Leader trio of Harris / Pickering / Sedgeman looks solid. A Gater and 2 great entertainers there!
-
Will Ablitt be banned? According to updates he was a late "no show" for BV Colts at Armadale tonight. Could get 7 days if withholding his services. Happened before that CL riders have had CL bans for missing NDL fixtures. Will be interesting what the reason given is. Based on updates would seem he was expected
-
That in a nutshell sums up ALL that is wrong with BSPL and British Speedway. Belle Vue bought him over, presumably made him an asset, invested in him, as dod local sponsors etc. He then sought to further his delelopment elsewhere outside the UK whilst remaining loyal to BV as an asset. IF BV want to bring him back then he should be on his perfectly correct and earned average. That's life, that's sport, that should be speedway. NOT factor it by a mystery number drawn up on the back of a Scunthorpe Rain Off Ticket to appease Bates and Louis or anyone else. The whole point of the asset system is to build talent isn't it? If it gives BV an advantage, so what, may be it will make a few others a bit less lazy and try to make things happen rather than moan when nothing good happens to them. This is what INDEPENDENT GOVERNANCE would bring. Fairness for ALL, and reward for enterprise.
-
Thats the most stupid comment I've read in ages. Go and do some research. Brennan rode Eastbourne all his career and until joining BV last season was crying out for big track experience and bike set up experience to ensure he continues to progress. His move to Glasgow merely aided that development. He's probably the best technical small track rider in Britain, certainly he needs more European track experience but small tracks you're having a laugh.
-
What about riders like Berge / Lidsey who could be on very appealing averages?

Poole Vs Glasgow 28/09/22 play off SF 1st leg

We're in to the nitty gritty of the season now and one aspect of Team Building starts to show through. It's an aspect that Poole + Leicester (to a slightly lesser degree) have in common. Look at the Poole team, 3 heat leaders whose career bread and butter has been UK speedway. No pretentions (especially at this stage of their career) of doing anything else than to get in to play offs and elongating their income drawing periods for another season. Two Aussies who t the best of my knowledge don't ride any where else. Ablitt trying to transitions up and only one with any pretentions of cracking Europe, and surprise surprise, he's the weakest link. Leicester and not dis-similar certainly the other Worrall, Howarth, Thompsons and Mountain. Comments a few times lately about Brennan and his attitude. Is he trying to run before he can walk, Undoubtedly the lads got ability, bags of it but s his head being turned by the bright lights of Poland and Europe. You can have all the ability in the world but if your attitude sucks, its a slippery slope. Obviously he and Basso want to do well in SGP2 and U23 Team Events but Glasgow pay their wages and I'd make the point that unlike a far more focussed Poole team last night, did Brennan and Basso actually put in 100% like at least 6 of the Poole team did? That's the difference at the business end! of the season. -

Never known a club whose supporters are so obsessed with rain and have such glee in discussing it. (acknowledgement of plaigirisation. Mr Marko) -
I think Kemp will end up as a moderate current CL level second string at best. Can't see any progress, think he's hit a ceiling. Most of his problems are in his head. Nothing to do with Poole. Indeed if he can't progress there where can he?

Broc has got a problem in the shoulder area that's always going to present issues. Due to previous injuries and wear and tear. Will never be 100% but it's manageable. Cold damp autumn weather and deeper tracks certainly won't help it. BWD is another rider with similar long term shoulder issues. His from memory is more in the shoulder blade area.
