Logically surely Speedway should be SUPPORTING License Application for other Events and getting Poole Supporters to actively CAMPAIGN for it! Stadium Owners want / need to increase Stadium use and Rentals! Speedway CANNOT AFFORD to be sole income Stream as Rent would be impossible to afford, hence Poole Speedway are sounding out alternative options Surely Music / Entertainment Events will only act as Marketing opportunity for Speedway bring people in to Stadium who have no idea its there! Speedway is fast becoming a 16 - 20 week a Year Sport, even if someone wanted to Hire Stadium for say a week, including Wednesday, Speedway could easily work around it. Race away fixtures at Oxford and Birmingham those weeks being blatantly obvious option. Chance for Speedway to embrace these plans not oppose them, that's the wrong mentality.

Each team covers their own expenses which always hits away team harder. Oxford will bank all online ticket sales and most will use for rearranged. Plymouth will have to pay for tonight travel and rearrange match out of their own accounts.

Any truth in the rumour Scott Nicholls and Ben Barker tested positive as pregnant and both teams walked out?

Off 10 mins b4 start. Rank bad customer service.

There is a very nice ex Speedway track, recently shaled sat right between Peterborough and Coventry. Just under an hour from each and untapped potential from Northampton. Surprising no one has had a look at Braefield.

Craig is craig, his issues are well documented and no need to go over them. When he's good he's not only a fantastic Speedway Rider he is also one of the most affable and approachable guys you could wish to meet. When he's not good he can be an absolute dick and be someone you'd be best to steer well clear of. Unlike other illnesses that can cause you to have good and bad days like Migraine, IBS , Gout etc etc, mental illness is not immediately visible and try as they might those who suffer from it can't always control it. That's the nature of the beast of mental illness. I don't make excuses for the guy and I don't think he'd make excuses for himself. I'm sure though that he and millions of others who suffer from it would like a magic cure.

Going from meeting to meeting one night after another zigzagging up the country is surely anything but random. Random is picking a match in early April and then may be not doing another until mid May and mixing number and locations. Did they check mobile phones at Poole?

Plymouth vs Poole BSN series 11/04/23
HGould replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Plymouth are excellent on Facebook, both Club and Private Supporter Group and their TV Channel. Websites are so 20 noughties and early teens. Cost too much to do properly and time consuming. Apps and social media is the way to go. A few thousand words preview and review are 1999 too many for most to read. -
Harder on a bike than on a keyboard. I recall a certain B Penhall used to have problems with exit to Pits turn at Cradley. One error accidentally caused terrible injuries to Steve Clarke of Rye House who demolished Starting Gate trying to avoid Penhall. Not sure J Turner is the next Penhall but give the guy a chance. Seems he can definitely make good starts.

There may be 2 positive avenues to progress here (1) the fact that with a core motor package you can quite easily tune it to have equivalent higher output. So a young rider could be a 125 or 250 tuned electric engine and then reset it to the equivalent of a 500cc power output. Potentially a MASSIVE saving long term although I am not sure how wasy it would be to "police over-sized". (2) It may really open up INDOOR venues. I remember the 1979NEC Meeting with a world class field basically on a rubber floor with slick tyres but a very big crowd. I'd think an Indoor Series based in UK or Europe using electric bikes could be a massive boost for Oval Racing / Speedway. Back in 1979 there was the NEC and that was about it, look at every major City now and you have Indoor venues that could accomodate up to 10000 seats and a 250-300 metre track in various configurations.

I've no idea and it's not relevant to Oxford. Maybe you should shine the torch up Danny's back passage and see if he replies in morse code after asking the Brum Promotion for you.
-
The free Park and Ride at Oxford on Unipart, secure and patrolled and safe for FREE is a massive positive and if you take that OFF the Admission when comparing with those Tracks that charge or where you are forced in to side streets or unpatrolled Public Car Parks really does make Cowley look like excellent overall value. Getting OUT is easy too as the Lights seem to prioritise the Site at the appropriate time.

Poole deserve credit for signing a British rider instead of another Australian. Rowe is not unlike Thomas, has shown glimpses of great potential but injuries have cropped up at the wrong time. A bit like Kemp in that he's sometimes not been seen as a team player. It's a great chance for him to kick on, hopefully he will grasp it. Be great to see Jack back too at some point.

Congratulations you win the Voucher for spotting the deliberate mistake.

20% is Sunak and CHunts cut It's called VAT
-
7x600 is 4200 plus 20% = 5080 Dont need a calculator.. Pedantic or what PS I allowed extra for P+P and extras...
-
Is that 3 each. 7 suits with Vat 5 to 6 grand

Mentioned this before but Broc has a shoulder issue that's never going to be as good as it was and may deteriorate with or without further knocks. It explains why he hasn't kicked on form wise since Covid break as just about everyone expected him to do. Kyle definitely would be hard done by if left out, Roynon would have only himself to blame having shafted Plymouth after agreeing a deal.
-
The cover at practices is often qualified first aiders. At meetings it is fully qualified paramedic. No paramedic would have allowed Jack to walk. Scunny haven't done wrong but the rules need tightening.
-
Very surprising. Completely lost form and confidence last few seasons he rode and from memory lots of shoulder issues. I'm assuming he's living in UK and not riding in Oz, so whilst a cheap option it's hard to get enthused. Can understand saving the pennies but I wonder how many matches he will actually ride in.

Is it Greg Blair? The Flying Scotsman?
-
May be Jim Lawrence should get off his backside and get up there to check it then. Rider safety is paramount. Maybe they could ask NORA92 to offer some expertise.
-
I know there is a lot of banter with Poole and sometimes it goes too far but this is genuinely sad news. Jack is a great kid, potentially a very good rider who has had no luck at all with injuries. Wish him and Poole all the best.
-
Rumour had it that Poole had spoken to him about a short term deal as Lawson has a bad case of dandruff and might not be able to get an helmet on for a month. If Poole can't get RR they'll use Kennett.

Phil Morris appointed Premiership CEO
HGould replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Every action has a reaction and an end aim. IMHO this is step 1 on the road to the PL breaking away from BSPL (but still aligning to SCB and therefore ACU) to create a separate entity to optimise TV money and Commercial opportunities and to do effectively what PL has done in soccer, and in similar way to the way Cricket is also redefining on Franchise type basis. I think they will want an 8 Team League (more riders coming in from Poland will help that) and possibly ultimately 9 or 10. Poole and Glasgow are the obvious targets.
