  1. Some Brummies PR suggested announcement might be this week, wonder if in The Speedway Star tomorrow? Manzaries to Brummies I believe. Heard rumour Plymouth after an Antipodeon. Would imagine both Clubs waiting on Home Office only logical reason for delay.
  2. Andy Smith might be a good match up v Oxford's reserves. Assuming he's not taken on a Barman job at Poole on the same night.
  3. Typical Poole bully boys. Sooo predictable.
  4. Skidder confused It must be so murky up there... A very appropriate name.
  5. Isn't Tom Brennan a Swindon lad who has a few matches for them in 2018 b4 the Rising Star scheme came in?
  6. It's entirely feasible that IOW, Kent and Plymouth could run NORA92 without a single contracted SCB ACU 2023 licensed rider or SCB accredited Official or SCB accredited Track staff present Enough non contracted riders about, Martin and Barry are Renting Stadia so no need for Kent or Plymouth Promoters to be there, and NORA92 could provide accredited local Marshalls or accredited staff at Kent and Plymouth currently in non authorised SCB roles could at step up. How daft would SCB and BSPL look then?
  7. This is clearly written by someone who has either not read the Speedway Star article, or who wishes to muddy the waters, is intellectually challenged or by a Management Committee Member or by all 4 Hello Danny.
  8. The answer is NO they don't, the Stadium Owner decides what they run. The crux of the situation though is that is the situation NOW! ------------ A close read and interpretation of what SCB have said, is that the rules WILL be changed, quite explicitly they have suggested, that if Kent / Plymouth want to run NORA league, they won't be able to run SCB. To quote-: "An email has now been sent to all Promoters basically saying that if you are running as an SCB licensed track and you have an SCB Track License, you can't run NORA 92. You can leave us and go with them from now on if you like, which we would be very sad about and we wouldn't want to happen, but we'd part as friends" (Speedway Star Page 7 - top middle paragraph attributed to Jim Lawrence) So the SCB Ruling Committee (which includes Rob Godfrey and Damian Bates does ot not?), have effectively moved the goalposts, cut off thier noses to spite their face, run off like spoilt brats taking the balls, nets, goalposts with them.
  9. Lewy Any truth in the rumour its Celina Liebmann ? Apparently Gary May has found a loophole in Home office regulations that means in a sport classed as a male sport the BSPL would have to reduce the usual starter average to 2 points for an overseas ex EU rider. I gather Plymouth Press and Practice is Saturday 1st April, sure to attract massive TV interest.
  10. Maybe you should play the ball and not the man! Have you read the article and the tone of it? What you say is 100% logical. What Jim Lawrence and Neil Vatcher are quoted and attributed as saying is not. The SCB are basically telling Kent and Plymouth it's SCB or NORA league. It's pretty unequivocal. The distinguishing aspect they seem to make is NORA training is OK, a NORA league is not. They hide behind bullrubbish rather than saying what we all know as that would be smashed out of any Court of Law. As others have pointed out they want to hide behind an SCB BSPL banner to dictate to what a stadium owner can and can't do. It's a vendetta against Bishop and Widman who they fear.
  11. Sad read in the Speedway Star of SCB attempts to destroy this pre-birth! BSPL hiding behind SCB as seems to be the normal. Lots of excuses about Insurance , Track License issues , Track Staff etc. It all seems to miss the point though that what SCB can't oversee NORA will and NORA have excellent track record in other forms of 2 wheel sport. The fact that SCB seem to think that as Plymouth and Kent are SCB sanctioned tracks they can't allow them to be rented to NORA seems very spurious and restraining Keny / Plymouth opportunity to generate income. Fear it'll all get very messy and delay things which is probably the SCB/BSPL intention. Don't Godfrey and Bates sit on SCB Committee also, so they can't hide!
  12. Since its been nearly 4 weeks since the very lethargic Poole Speedway website posted anything meaningful (a generic BSPL message about Glasgow sponsoring the CL + a plea for someone to buy season tickets aside) may be they could crank up the valves and write someting interesting about "the bouncing cheques and the ones that got away)...
  13. I may have misunderstood the article and the very specific wording but it's my understanding from reading it that Barry (Bishop) and Martin (Widman) will PROMOTE at all 3 NORA League Venues. They will enter in to specific LEASE agreements with Iwade and Plymouth so that they are leasing the Tracks for NORA League and that therefore it avoids any "conflict of interest" for the Iwade and Plymouth BSPL Promotions in being involved in what some may label "breakaway". Ths differs from some other Tracks (Scunthorpe and Redcar) who run NORA but in the true Amateur Training and less formal league sense and presumably no paying crowd but Riders who pay to ride. So, unless the Owners of Buxton and Eastbourne Stadiums as an example are prepared to enter in to a 3rd Party Agreement with Barry and Martin the option would be a non-starter. It makes complete sense to me that having created a Brand and Identity on the IOW that Barry and Martin are 100% committed to ensuring it is maintained in their ventures at Iwade and Plymouth so as not to denegrate or reduce it and that the Owners of Iwade and PLymouth are happy to let them do that in the knowledge that they will get some Rental income from it and two innovative professionals in Barry and Martin to run it. Whether Iwade and Plymouth see this as a backstop or alternative route for their future should British Speedway under BSPL governance continue to fragment is totally up to them but it does give them some scope to consider that. The other interesting comment was that to set up and fulfil the extra work it would appear that Iwade and PLymouth will run NORA on a weekend. No surprise for iwade as they have no lights but it would be very interesting to see if NORA at Plymouth can draw Crowds anywhere near what they get for CL on a Tuesday. Maybe I've misunderstood but that's my interpretation of the article.
  14. No doubting his ability at all. The problem seems to be that a number of Clubs have witness a tendency to go "full strop mode" the minute things don't go his way and a general lack of self confidence meaning he can't cope with adversity. Some young riders mature more quickly than others and in many Sports and in life, it's when you hit tough times that you define yourself. He's been at some very good Clubs with excellent mentors available to him, not in the least in 2022 at Wolves and Poole,s o you have to ask what the answer is if Adams and Middleditch can't find the mental and emotional key. May be a year to reflect on not having a GB place and learning new skills in Poland will be the making of him. Contrast with Brennan, very much is peer and equal at age levels, who has fought injury adversity on the Track and huge personal loss off it and come through it apparently tougher and harder and away from his comfort zone.
  15. Nottingham Nodders Grimsby Gulls Brighton Wokepersons Portsmouth Golden Rivets Solihull Bluerinses
  16. Rumour is he's been tapped up by Poole to head the track rakers on a guarantee of 100 quid a heat and double for a golden heat.
  17. Fair play whoever got Antonio booked. One of the few riders of this millennium with the x factor that guarantees bums on seats.
  18. There's only one Keith Kershaw Brummies and Wolves at various times over many years.
  19. Mentioning one Tory is not an anti Tory rant. I don't disagree many have their noses in the trough. Local Politics should be non party political especially planning and central government should not interfere as much as they do. As for Speedway in Somerset, it sadly looks less than likely now.
  20. I was a Councillor for 15 years as an Independent. If you are saying Politicians at national and local level don't take inducements or favours to facilitate decisions then you clearly live in a parallel universe. It's endemic now just read the papers but as they used to say more dodgy deals done in the Lodges and 19th hole in the UK than in the Kremlin
  21. I'm pretty sure Mike Atkins (Henry's dad) was referred to as well. As a Consultant with Bishop
